Summary
Elphaba never expected to find a friend in Glinda, but when Shiz closes for the holiday and she has nowhere else to go, Glinda's family welcomes her into their home, offering her a glimpse of the life she thought she wanted: loving parents, loyal friends, and people who care about you. But things aren't always what they seem, and Glinda's life is far more complicated than any fairytale. While many of Glinda's friends are quick to judge her, one person surprises her. Fiyero sees past her green skin, treating Elphaba with a kindness she isn't quite sure how to accept.
But when circumstances force Elphaba and Glinda to leave everything behind, the two set out on a journey that changes them in ways neither could have imagined. Away from everything they know, their friendship deepens into something more. Then Fiyero returns. As feelings deepen, and old promises are tested, Elphaba finds herself torn between the future she never thought she deserved, and the one she never saw coming. In the end, she'll have to decide what she's willing to risk, and whether love is worth the cost of losing the person who matters most.
