Chapter Text
His room was cluttered with junk, various bottles of, various, liquors littered the area. Making you pleasantly surprised at your lack of stumbling as your foot slides back. Purple flashing in front of you.
The wall hit like a truck, pain tingling and spreading like fire, leaving shivers in it's wake. You tilt your head and glower at the hooded figure... Smells like smoke.
It was intoxicating... putting you into a daze as teeth graze against your lips. You gasp, and the monster slides his-

... Fuck.. This is so generic, isn't it? You promptly brought your head back- leading to a painful wooden smack to fill the messy room.
After you rubbed your, now-very-sore head, you *lightly* rested your head against the bed frame.. That was.. not very comfortable now that you thought about it. . .
GROANNNNNNNNN
Creative inspiration- where? Nowhere, it was flipping you off and leaving on the train.
"Yeah fuck you too!" You threw the innocent ceiling the bird.
... Talking to yourself is probably not a good sign of good mental health.
A high-pitched growl was heard and you took the sign from the unknown beings of the universe. You decided to abandon your computer for the much more appetizing option. . . Literally. You didn't really remember the last time you ate... Well that's why you were going now!
You creeped out of your room, listening to the digital ocean from your mother's bedroom, and then headed down the 'HOLY-HELL-WHY-ARE-YOU-SO-CREAKY' stairs, you ignored the living room, noises of Dragon Ball FighterZ faint as the kitchen beckoned you over. The fridge looked mighty fine tonight..
You grabbed a delightful mug of milk proceeding to warm it up, setting the timer for 3 minutes in the microwave. Then, you hoisted your butt onto the counter, crossing your arms as you eye some delicious, chocolate, bourbon cookies.
You were 14. The book you were writing.. Well was for 'funzies'. You had a slight thing for skeletons.. Specifically, the Undertale AU fandom kind. Your problem was- like most others- could not pick one skeleton. They all had their charms, and quirks. Making you love all of them like the sneaky bastards they were. Every time you thought you lost that passion they came back 10x stronger and with new skeleton crushes.. Fictional, skeleton crushes. A fake tear preformed by your finger makes it's way down.
*sigh*

After you made your way upstairs with your rewards, trying desperately to stay silent and at the same time keep the warm beverage from spilling over, you placed everything down on your desk. Following, you absolutely demolished your cookies and milk. As you closed your eyes and slumber drew your consciousness away, the soft hum of cars drove past your flat, the glow of white appeared in part of your closed vision and the glitching noise beside your bed went away.. In your dreams.

It's dark, so very dark.
Are you falling?
You don't feel your bed anymore.
A foreign voice speaks to you, a language you shouldn't be able to decipher. But... you can see it...

You learnt wingdings before, Undertale lover and all... you forgot a bit.. but you know enough:
'-ou- p-esence -ill be most helpful. I hope -o- enjo-, ______.'
...Okay actually you can figure out the message from that... But enjoy wha-
---------------------------------
Awaking, you open your eyes slowly.
Just a weird dream?
No. How could characters you don't know appear?
It wasn't even foggy... The memory vividly lingered in your brain.
Was this just you being too much of a fan? Were you just that much into the fandom you managed to convince yourself something obviously not real was a sign you were sent into mission from a probable skeleton?
Twisting your head, you scan your surroundings.
It's still your room.
Sunlight enters your room from your curtains, you look outside.
It's still your planet.
People's voices are heard, you eye the people.
It's still full of humans.
Exhaling, you shake your head in disappointment.
It's still another school day.
A school day... You tilt your head. It's blue skyed.
It's definitely past 7 if the sky's blue right now.
Past 7...
School!
Your internal clock seemed to not be working very well today. You -on top of that- didn't set an alarm last night.
Taking your uniform off your hanger, you start to dress. Franticly.
School starts at 8:25. You live about 35 minutes away. You refuse to take the bus ever again. Your mother is at work. The one who divorced mother is an ass. And your brother is probably at university already.
Sighing deeply, you grab your tie, putting it on before rushing to unplug your phone.
7:35
The stairs? Who cares! You practically fly over the stairs (meaning you jump halfway and then jump again to the bottom) as you go into the living room and grab your bag.
The bag is slung over an arm, your legs sprinting to the kitchen door, the free arm opening it with vigor.
A lifeline is thrown at you when you see toast with egg on your counter- reminder to thank your brother later!
You shove half into your mouth, the other following after the previous is devoured. Eggy goodness is melting in your mouth as you get everything you need before rushing out the door.
------------------------------
Panting is heard, heavy and loud. It's you. You are exhausted.
Currently you were hands-on-knees panting in front of your school gates. They were closed. You were early. So early in fact, that literally none of your friends were there yet.
You managed to make it at 8:00 by some miracle. Insane... The gates will open in ten minutes and you decide to do some reading in the meantime, a science book. You were planning to be an astrophysicist, theoretical physicist or neurologist- perhaps an AI engineer- despite your hobbies being reading or on occasion, art.
Deeply absorbed in your book, you failed to notice the curly brown haired figure behind you, steadily creeping closer, and closer, before jumping on you and scaring you half to death.
"BOO!" Various students turn their head to look at the peace-destroyer called...
You check their hair. It's short.
Loran.
Loran is one of your best friends, and is the loudest and least caring of opinions. As shown when he keeps his voice at the decibel most unfitting of a Monday morning.
"Hey bestie! Where is Aloe?" he steps to be in front of you, he has the biggest grin on his face, his green eyes crinkling adding to his apparent excited expression.
"No idea actually... Pretty weird honestly- she's always super early.."
"YOU DON'T KNOW??? Girl. There is a group chat! That she ALWAYS texts on!" he raised an eyebrow.
"Did you seriously get your phone taken away again?"
Loran looks at you in mock offence, "Not my fault!"
Sighing, you bring your phone out and check for notifications... None...
Lorin looks over your shoulder. "Okay.. Now that is REALLY odd-"
He nabs your phone, typing a private message to her-
She doesn't reply. Lorin hands you back the phone dejectedly.
"Hope she's alright.." You mumble, eyebrows furrowing.
"...I'm sure she'll be fine! Don't worry! We will see her later..." He plasters on a smile. "On another note, excited to meet the new transfer students?"
You tilt your head to the side, confused.
"The transfer students. The ones everyone has been talking about for WEEKS?" As your head tilts even further, Loran shakes his head in disapproval. "I swear you and your not-caring-about-anything-that-isn't-school-related attitude will kill you."
Your eyes narrow.
"I care about Undertale!"
"We don't count the obscure games that literally no one has heard of! You only talk about The Stanley Parable to me!"
"I've only mentioned that game once or twice!"
"Girl stop gaslighting me- You are seriously too good at acting.. BUT IT WON'T WORK THIS TIME!"
Loran overdramatically places the back of his hand on his forehead and points to your bag with his other arm. You slide off the bag and twist it round.
Where the hell is all of your Undertale merch. And why do you have a pin of a Stigley Wiggly?
Wait a damn second.
"The transfer students. Tell me about them."
Loren seems surprised at your new found serious tone. "Uh well- no one really knows much about it? It has something to do with the big secret the authorities have been hiding." He stares unamused at your dumbfounded expression. "The large black dome? The one they created around that city I can't remember the name of?"
"They made a dome over a whole city??? How?"
"Well- no one knows actually.. It just appeared one day, everyone in that city was evacuated at some point too! Literally no one knew! Ooh nice rhyme.."
"Overnight????"
"I KNOW! It seems impossible-."
A dome appearing over a whole city overnight? OVERNIGHT? ...A city he can't remember the name of..
"Was the city's name Ebbot?"
"Oh yeah! It was- Y'know it's so crazy how-" all words transform into gibberish.
Everything in your life has just come crashing down in an instant.
You should be happy right now, but... you don't know what kind of monsters will be here. No- no maybe it's all a coincidence and you've just been transported to a world where Undertale doesn't exist and somehow people can make black domes in 8 hours! But why would they cover a city in a dome? How did no one see it being made? To protect them from what? What if it's an AU? What if it's Horrortale? What if they are being hurt- or being tested on right now? You really love those characters... no... people.
Maybe you could befriend them! But they're older than you... that'd be kinda weird- WAIT - transfer students? So does that mean Frisk or Monster Kid might be attending your school? So they could be safe! You could talk to them and learn more about them- it's a shame that you aren't the same age as the skeletons though...... don't think like that! You're sure they wouldn't like you anyway especially if-
...
What if they find out you are a player..?
