Chapter Text
A girl with short brown hair was eating breakfast. Today was the day she and her class went to the Oscorp science museum to learn about the great wonders of science. She didn’t really enjoy science class but she was going so she could stay on the Cheer team.
Knock knock knock…
Stella’s mother Amara answered the door. “Ah Kira, how are you?”
“I’m good Mrs Wheeler.” Kira spoke calmly, Amara chuckled, as she let Kira into the house, and Kira walked over.
“Come on Stella, we’re going to be late.” Kira spoke excitedly.
“I’m coming, I’m coming.” Stella said after finishing her breakfast, they both left, getting on the bus that was taking them to the museum.
Meanwhile at Oscorp, Harry Osborn and his father Norman was working on something called ‘Compound G’
Something that would ultimately make someone super. Unlike Tony Stark, who uses his knowledge to help himself, Norman was planning to make this serum buyable.
“Sir, it’s time for Harry to go to the museum,” said one of the bodyguards. “Fine, take him, we’ll finish this tonight,” Norman spoke and Harry nodded as he left with the guard.
Thirty minutes went by, Stella, Kit and the others arrived at the museum. One by one they got off the bus and Harry arrived soon after. “Harry!” Kira shouts, waving as Harry waved, getting out of the limousine and running over to them.
“Harry. . .” Stella muttered, annoyed by Harry. “Stella,” Harry muttered, equally annoyed.
“Come on, stop being buttheads and let’s go,” Peter Parker and Kira said as Harry was the first to walk, Stella rolled her eyes as she followed them.
During the trip, Peter was taking pictures of everything. Flash Thompson pushed Peter, almost making him drop his camera.
“Hey Flash, be careful!" Harry said, pushing Flash. Eugene went to punch Harry but Stella got in the way. Flash froze before putting his fist down.
“I don’t know why you hang out with these nerds…” Flash said as he and his buddies walked away. “Don’t start fights, Osborn.” Stella said as she walked away with Kira.
Peter went back to taking pictures, even taking pictures of Mary Jane Watson with her permission. Soon they got to the Spider exhibit.
While speaking about all SEVEN spiders. Stella raised her hand.
“There’s only six spiders?” Stella mentioned as the scientist turned to count. “Okay… no one panics, they’re harmless, we trained them and everything, they won’t attack unless commanded to.” The students nodded as they went back to the tour.
A black and purple spider sat on a pillar and crawled after the students.
They got to the next exhibit and the spider spewed a web, slowly climbing down to Stella.
Stella was unaware of the spider. She was just bored, being forced to pay attention to the lesson as suddenly she felt a bite on the back of her neck. She smacked the back of her neck and the spider fell to the ground, dead.
Suddenly, a feeling of sickness rushed over her body. She collapsed onto the ground, the world was spinning at a rapid pace, she couldn’t seem to get a grasp on who came to her aid but soon she fainted.
Her DNA was merging with the Spider’s, mutating her… Three days went by, and she just woke up, slowly, groggy. “What happened…” She groaned, looking around. It was either late at night, or early in the morning, it was still outside. She held her head trying to remember what happened last. Her mother came into the room holding a cup of coffee. “Stella!” Amara shouted, as she set her coffee down and hugged Stella tightly. “M-Mom… What happened,” She asked, as she looked around.
“You were bitten by a science experiment and then passed out, you sure you feel okay?” Amara asked, worrying about her daughter.
“I feel great, sore, but great.” Stella chuckled.
After that lovely moment, the doctors and nurses ran into the room, and began running tests on her. Late Friday she was released from the hospital. Amara drove her and Stella home with her mini van, as Stella was on her phone, scrolling through messages, mainly of Kira spamming her phone with worrisome text messages.
(Text) Stella → “Kira, I’m released, I’ll see you tomorrow?”
(Text) Kira → “You know it! God you had me worried! You know you picked a bad time to get bit by a radioactive spider lmao!”
Stella chuckled and put her phone to sleep mode as she turned to look out the window. They entered Queens as they pulled into their house, two houses down from Peter Parker’s house. They walked inside and Stella’s father Connor walked over and hugged Stella tightly, looking as if he had been crying all day. She never saw her father so emotional, she hugged back. They had dinner and Stella went to her bedroom, closed the door and accidentally broke the door of its hinges by mere accident.
Before the door could fall she caught it for a door that was supposed to be heavy, it felt like a paper weight to her. She held the door in place. “D-Dad!” She called out as her father ran up. “Yes?” He said before noticing the door was off the hinges.
“This almost crushed me, help!” She lied to her father but couldn’t find a way to tell the truth without Connor taking her to Oscorp or the hospital for more tests.
Connor helped remove the door, suddenly a fly triggered Stella’s spider sense and she caught it with a swift motion. Connor didn’t see this, he was moving the door on the wall. She tossed the spider out from in between her fingers and made the fly go splat on the wall.
“If you need anything just let me know, I’ll try to fix this tomorrow.” Connor said, as he walked back downstairs.
Stella looked at her hands. She put a blanket up to hide her room for ‘privacy’ she filled the bed with pillows and blankets to make it seem like she was laying down asleep. She shut the light off and climbed out the window and closed it behind her.
“Sorry guys, only one person would know what is happening to me and she’s the smartest person I know.” She muttered quietly, as she dropped to the ground and stealthy walked away while Connor and Amara were too busy watching television.
It took her ten minutes to get to Kira’s family house and she got to the front porch and knocked on the front door.
Kira opened her door. “St–”
“Sh, come outside real quick.”
Kira obeyed, closing the door behind her. “What’s the matter?” Kira asked. “I think something is wrong… I have super senses, I literally pulled my door off its hinges.” Stella explained, panicked, the light post outside flickered, Stella’s eyes glowed purple as purple light energy glowed from her hands.
“A-And now this!?” She said, noticing her hands as she threw her hands into the air shooting energy blasts into the sky. Her eyes widened as her pupils turned normal.
“I think that spider… gave you super powers!” Kira said, not frightened but excited. “Superpowers? No no no no, I can’t have superpowers, I am a cheerleader, I don’t have time for superpower nonsense!” Stella said, pacing back and forth. “I don’t think you have a say in this… That spider bit you and now you gained from it…” Kira explained, her excitement unable to be contained any longer, a big grin on her face was shown.
“I didn’t ask for these, I will go to Harry and ask for medicine to remove it!” Stella is panicking.
“I don’t think that’s how that works. . .” Kira muttered.
“It has too, I don’t know what else to do, I-I am a freak!”
“You’re not a freak, you’re a hero!” Kira explained, trying to calm her friend…
All night they talked about Self control and how Stella is going to have to adapt to these powers, and new life. Kira is so excited that she is trying to think of super hero names and costumes. Stella is just afraid for dear life. She wants to be normal but whatever Kira said, was making sense to her.
Maybe these powers are a gift, maybe she can help others like how others helped her get to be a cheerleader. Just maybe she can be like Tony Stark…
Meanwhile Norman Osborn finished Compound G, and loaded it up in a syringe. “Father, it’s not safe to test it on you, let’s just get a rodent…”
“No, sometimes you need to make sacrifices…” Norman muttered as he pushed the needle into his vein and injected himself with Compound G. His eyes turned Green before he fell to the ground, seemingly dead. “Father… Father!”
Norman woke up moments later, not the same, he pushed Harry to the side, not hurting but not talking to him either. He walked to the elevator and went down to the main floor where he entered a secret lab behind the painting of his late wife. Emily Osborn. There it was revealed… The glider and a Super Enhancing Suit. Norman’s eyes still glowing green let out a maniacal laugh that echoed the room…
“No one will stop me now… Not even Tony Stark…”
