Chapter 13: Something New

Chapter Text

Stella insists upon a spring wedding back in her home kingdom and Oritel is happy to oblige. He feels a bit weird about not doing some sort of ceremony on Domino, since that is his home, but there are other, obvious reasons why he decides not to do such a thing. It’s a great blessing that Marion has been as graceful about all of this as she has been, so the absolute least he can do is respond in kind. This is also why he does send her an invitation but attaches a note letting her know that he does not expect anything from her and won’t be offended if she doesn’t attend.

As for Stella, she has a field day planning the wedding with him, the Winx, and Luna and, sure enough, she was right that this was exactly what her mother needed to start to come around to the idea of her and Oritel’s relationship. Seeing firsthand throughout the planning process how much he values and cares about Stella does a lot to change Luna’s mind about him and, by the time the wedding comes around, they actually get along fairly well. That being said, Radius’ perspective remains unchanged and, any time he’s around Oritel, there is still a crystal clear threat hanging in the air between them.

The day finally arrives, and everyone is working overtime to make sure the whole thing is picture perfect. The Winx do their part to assist the hired help and entertainment before the actual ceremony. Musa directs the string quartet and helps them get set up while Tecna micromanages the photography team and Flora works with Vanessa and the hired florists to arrange the flowers just right, leaving Aisha to help greet and organize the guests and Bloom to help her bestie get ready while Daphne assists their father. Marion did not end up attending the ceremony, which everyone expected, although she did send a gift with Daphne for the reception to show Domino’s support of Solaria in this union.

Oritel and Stella decided to have the wedding at the beach instead of having a ceremony at the royal palace, which is far more traditional. Stella is very excited about this and thinks it’s absolutely gorgeous, but Oritel is also excited about it because it’s another way that this wedding will bear no resemblance to his first one and it makes him feel like this really is something new, a fresh start, rather than him just re-doing all the same things he’s already done before that didn’t work out. A spring beach wedding in Solaria that’s decked out with orchids and calla lilies thankfully bears no resemblance whatsoever to his first wedding, which was held in the grand ballroom of the Domino royal palace in the middle of winter. Another key difference that warms his heart is the fact that his daughters will be present for this wedding, whereas they weren’t even born yet when he married their mother.

There’s a lot of moving pieces and everything is pretty chaotic but, by the time the ceremony is about to start, everything is in place to be as perfect as it could possibly be. Oritel is standing under the arch, waiting for his bride, feeling just as nervous as he did the first time he did this. The Winx have all taken their places up there as well, as Stella’s bridesmaids, now trusting the hired professionals to do their jobs without them as they also wait for their friend to make her grand entrance. Then, the time finally comes.

Stella is a vision in her beaded mermaid dress and delicate veil that accents her half updo very nicely. She always thought she’d want to wear a proper princess ballgown for her wedding but, as soon as they decided on a beach wedding, she knew she had to go with the mermaid cut instead. The fabric of the dress is a bright pearly white but the beads are a very pale blue that add the slightest touch of color. This same blue is picked up in her eye makeup, which ties everything together. The pastoral string music swells as Stella makes her way down the aisle, holding her father’s arm, and Oritel can’t take his eyes off of her which, admittedly, is a good thing because, if he did, he would see the rather severe expression on Radius’ face that is entirely aimed at him.

Stella takes her place across from Oritel and Radius takes his seat next to his ex-wife as Faragonda begins to officiate the ceremony. She starts by welcoming everyone there and congratulating the happy couple, and then she shares a whimsical yet romantic poem before talking a bit about Stella and Oritel, both of whom she knows very well. Then, it’s time for the ‘I do’s’.

“Your journey has been a complicated one from the beginning,” Faragonda starts. “Together, you have overcome obstacles and chosen each other at every turn, time and time again. Now, you stand here before me, and it is time for you to commit yourselves to each other again, as you have already, once and for all.” She then turns to Oritel first. “Oritel, do you take Princess Stella of Solaria to be your lawfully wedded wife til death do you part? To stand by her in sickness and in health, for richer or for poorer, and always support her no matter what adversity life presents you with?”

He looks his bride in the eye as he says “I do” with his whole chest, causing her to blush and bite back a delighted smile.

Then, it’s Stella’s turn. “Princess Stella of Solaria, do you take Oritel to be your lawfully wedded husband til death do you part? To stand by him in sickness and in health, for richer or for poorer, and always support him no matter what adversity life presents you with?”

   “I do,” Stella declares brightly.

“You have consented to the sacred bond of marriage, and now it is time to share your vows that will guide you through your marriage in the years to come,” Faragonda continues. “Oritel, please share your vows with Princess Stella.”

“Today, I vow to love you as long as I live,” he solemnly swears, looking deeply into Stella’s eyes, “to grow together, not apart, and to both celebrate all of our accomplishments and work through all of our struggles together, as one. I will love you truly, I will stand by your side always, and I will never take you for granted.”

Faragonda then turns back to Stella. “Princess Stella, now please share your own vows with Oritel.”

“Today, I vow to share myself with you in every way,” she starts. “I promise to love, cherish, and support you and your family forever and always. I will always trust you and support you and be faithful to you, no matter what. I am yours, as much as you are mine.”

With that, they then exchange the rings and, with a final blessing from Faragonda, they are finally pronounced husband and wife and share a passionate, yet not inappropriate kiss, both of them positively elated. Stella has to dip out for a quick change before the reception, though, so she can’t linger once the ceremony is over. The reception is being hosted at the beachfront hotel that is fairly close to where the wedding was held, so everyone makes their way over there rather quickly.

The venue has an area called ‘the Pavilion’ that they sell with a wedding reception package, which is what they ultimately went with. The designated area is a wrap-around porch with two additional rooms, all of which has been set up very tastefully. The string quartet from the wedding picks up their instruments and sets up again but, this time, their members are spread out so each of the two rooms has one musician in it and then there are two on the porch as well. These areas are also set up with tables and chairs that are adorned with light blue table linens, fine china and glassware, and more orchids and calla lilies arranged into lovely centerpieces. One of the rooms contains the food, including the 7-tier wedding cake, on similarly decorated long tables, and the other has a fully stocked open bar.

Ultimately, the reception is lovely and most everyone has a good time. With some additional help from the Winx, everything continues to go very smoothly with just a few minor hiccups. Speeches are made, the cake is cut, Stella has her first dance with Oritel and also with her father, and then the party is in full swing. The happy couple enjoy themselves as they dance and go around talking to everyone but, really, they can hardly wait to leave and enjoy their first night together as a married couple, so they escape at the first opportunity.

Their honeymoon will actually be on Earth, since a conversation with Bloom convinced Stella that she really wanted to go to Morocco, especially after Bloom then showed her Casablanca. This, of course, has all been arranged so, when they leave the reception, all they have to do is use Stella’s scepter to teleport to Chefchaouen and check in at their hotel. Stella originally just wanted to go to Casablanca itself after watching the movie, but then she saw pictures of “The Blue City” and fell in love, so they ultimately decided to go there instead.

Once they check in and get to their room, Stella pounces on her new husband, delighted to finally be alone with him. She kisses him deeply and wastes no time stripping layers of clothing off of his body while he fumbles to undo the corset back of her blue reception dress. They come up for air as she slips out of her dress and Oritel takes a moment to appreciate the lacy white lingerie perfectly adorning her tan, fit body, his eyes black with lust.

“You’re so fucking beautiful,” he breathes, making her smile before they dive back into each other.

This is definitely not the first time they’ve done this, but it almost feels like it is, since it is the first time they’ve done it as husband and wife, and both of them feel that difference intently, which fuels the fire. Stella pushes Oritel down onto the bed and immediately climbs on top of him, kissing him hard while he clings to her body for dear life. She shakes him off enough to sit up and make a show of taking her bra off before he pulls her back in, sucking on her nipples while he tries to slide her panties down and off her hips. They part again, one last time, to divest each other of their undergarments before Stella does something truly surprising. Kissing him again, she climbs back on top of him and then lowers herself onto him while looking him dead in the eye.

“Are you sure?” he asks, very much turned on but also alarmed by the fact that they haven’t done anything like this since the abortion.

“Give me a baby, Daddy,” she purrs into his ear.

That just about sends him over the edge, right then and there.

“Anything for you, Princess,” he says like his earlier vows, desperately trying to hold himself back as he begins to thrust into her.

She bounces on her heels, meeting his thrusts with her own movements, arching her back and moaning beautifully at the sensation of him moving inside of her. He does his best, but it’s hard when she’s so warm and wet and perfect so it’s not long at all before he cums inside her, screaming her name. When they’ve come down from his orgasm, she slides off of him and lies down next to him, kissing him sweetly as she lets him recover a bit before she goes back in for round two. They spend hours immersing themselves into each other like this, switching between different positions and methods until they’re ready to call it a night. As they curl up together in their admittedly filthy sheets to go to sleep, Oritel cups her face and kisses her one more time.

“My wife,” he whispers reverently, gently stroking her cheek.

“My husband,” she echoes with a tired yet delighted smile.

And so they drift off to sleep, in a daze of marital and post-coital bliss, excited for the new life ahead of them.

Notes:

I swear to God, this fic had a life of its own and held me hostage until I completed it. I only ever wanted to write like maybe the first few chapters (would you believe this was originally a oneshot?) but it grew like a slime mold, but now I’m done, so that’s cool I guess. Hopefully this all makes any amount of sense, whatsoever, but I’m not actually convinced it does lol. Maybe it’s because I’m coming off my Olanzapine and haven’t slept in like a week and a half, idk.
