Leon originally started out as a Trainer at the age of 10 with his partner Charmander when he entered the Gym Challenge after he was endorsed by Rose, who saw talent in him. He proceeded to win his first-ever Gym Challenge and become the Champion of the Galar League, without losing a single battle. Since then, he and his partner have remained undefeated in every league and exhibition they participated in. He's been referred to as "The Unbeatable Champion" and "The greatest Trainer in all of Galar" many times by his massive fanbase. He is considered a hero to many Trainers in Galar. However, he is also known for his poor sense of directions. He's very friendly and quite outgoing and quite courageous even if a bit unmindful, he's also not really the brightest and quite dense outside from Pokémon battles, but makes up as a very confident Pokemon Champion who tends to come off as self-centered and a bit overly arrogant when he gets in his moment. He's really close friends with Ari and even if he has a huge fanbase to not let down, he secretly hopes Ari can best him and become the New Galar Champion
