In 19th Century London, Anaxa promises his sister that he will become a doctor in order to cure her illness. When luck does smile at him, and he meets Aglaea’s dad, who kindly takes him under his wing and involves him in a series of blasphemous experiments, his dreams seem just within reach. But fate is a funny thing, and before he can develop a cure, Diotima dies. But not everything comes crumbling down, he has Aglaea, and soon he will also have a daughter, whose fate will resemble Diotima’s. And when that fate comes to pass, he will stand at a crossroads. Will he blaspheme against God and cheat death? What disastrous consequences will follow after his obsessive actions?
