Summary
In the high valleys of the Naka Enclave, Uchiha Sasuke lives at the edge of the world. One-armed and iron-haired, he grows tomatoes in stone-bordered beds and opens dimensional portals at midnight, each breach tearing through his starving body so that seven thousand discarded souls imprisoned in the enclave might eat another week. The Shinobi Alliance has sealed the pass and left them to die in silence. He has chosen patience for twenty-three years. He is beginning to wonder if patience is another name for surrender.
Hyuuga Hinata arrives with the latest assessment convoy, pale eyes carrying the weight of every report she has read and every truth the files left out. She did not come for protocol. She came because the stories of the last Uchiha, bleeding from his Rinnegan to feed children, and tending a dying garden, had caused an infatuation she could not resist.
As the two collide in each other's wants, Sasuke turns his mind towards orchestrating a final break of the blockade, and Hinata chooses to aid in this pursuit. But they find the resolve of the Alliance, led by Naruto and Sakura, is unyielding. Slowly, he realizes the last eruption is only a matter of time.
