    Summary:
After accidentally getting bonded to a strange winged creature, Zoro learns the only way to break the curse is by sleeping with it; naturally, he has no intention of doing that...
    -
“Cause nothing bad has ever happened from touching a dead fey—or celestial,” Nami drawled with exaggerated eye roll. “Even children know not to—next you’re gonna tell me a dryad could con a kiss out of you.”

“What was I supposed to do?”
    -
“Sure,” Nami drawled with a playful flick of her tail. “Kill it—I’ve always wanted to see someone get cursed with my own two eyes.”
    -
The creature slowly nodded back, “Yes… [I’m assuming this means correct?]”

Pointing at the scarf again, the creature then said a word in his tongue, “[Scarf.]”

Zoro caught on with a smile, “[Scarf.]”

A look of gratitude on the creature’s face, then murmured, “[You’re not as mean as your face.]”

It was a bit more gentle than the rest of the snarky mutterings, so Zoro took it as a sign of growing trust between them. However, it was short lived as the creature’s eyes drooped into a sultry gaze as that weird aura began to warp around him uncomfortably.

Zoro turned his head away while holding up a hand to block the creature’s face from his line of sight, “Stop doing that. It makes me itch.”

“[Huh,]” the creature made a perplexed noise—and the magic faded. Zoro lowered his hand to watch the creature tilt his head curiously while regarding Zoro like a puzzle, “[It actually doesn’t work on you… That’s a first.]”
    -
“There?” Sanji arched a brow “[We’re going to the X on the map?]”

Glancing around the valley, Zoro spotted the peaks far off in the distance, then pointed towards them, “There.”

Recognition sparked in Sanji’s eyes before glancing at the mountain Zoro was pointing at, then back at the map, then back at the mountains, then the map. He did it a few more times with a look of growing consternation before turning and glancing at a different mountain range in the opposite direction. He glanced at the map again, then held it up for good measure.

And Zoro felt a stone of dread drop into his gut.

Sanji finally glanced at Zoro, “[You sure it ain’t that mountain?]”

Without even looking, Zoro knew they’d been walking in the wrong direction—and an embarrassed blush was already creeping up his neck, “Look…”

“[Oh my gods,]” Sanji lowered the map while giving Zoro a flat and irritated look, “[I’m following a directionally challenged idiot…]”

“Call me a [idiot] one more time,” Zoro grumbled. “I dare you.”

    “[Idiooooooooot,]” Sanji sang the word.

“You’re pushing it,” Zoro warned, but followed after the creature as they headed off towards the correct mountain this time…
    -
Sanji nodded, then dropped down to sit and watch while Zoro began making a fire; he observed with that same curiosity Zoro was beginning to expect.

It was clear that despite his bold personality, the creature was oddly… sheltered. Unfamiliar with certain aspects of the world. And it was all just adding to the peculiar mystery that hung around him.

A creature that no one in their company could recognize, who spoke a language that none of them could speak, and by all accounts hadn’t spent much time outside—Zoro was left to conclude Sanji came from a different plane, or had been locked in a dungeon his whole life.

Perhaps he was from the Feywilds, but from everything Zoro had heard about the place, the mortal plane would be completely lackluster in comparison…

Zoro supposed he’d have answers eventually once they got a translation amulet—and focused instead on making them a fire.
    -
Zoro gave a thumbs up, “Nice kick.”

Sanji grinned, then returned the thumbs up, “Nice kick.”

A laugh bubbled up at the dumb misunderstanding, but it quickly morphed into a cough as Zoro continued to fight to catch his breath. He eventually recovered—and Sanji strode over, then dropped into a squat beside him, “Okay?”
    -
Sanji groaned softly, then laughed, “Nice kick.”

Zoro snorted, but didn’t have the heart to correct him, “Nice kick.”
    -
Fingers splaying wide to keep as much skin from his hands on Sanji as possible, Zoro leaned forward to press his forehead against him as well. He could feel the cold sweat that had dotted his brow. And the hair that had been soaked in sweat.

Zoro shut his eye and waited.

A few nerve wracking seconds passed, then hands shot up to grip Zoro’s; Sanji gasped for air as he fed off Zoro’s touch. The skin of his cheeks, hands, and forehead got warm fast. And Zoro felt confident enough to pull back and see in real time the consciousness return to Sanji’s eyes.
