Chapter Text
Raven did go with him. When Damian asked after the attack on Titan’s tower Raven had taken a moment to think, would she really risk everything, what would happen if she didn’t go with him? “Please Raven, I need you by my side.” Damian whispered, trying to convince her but also allow her space to think about the decision.
After thinking over everything, Raven decided that she would go, would follow Damian to the League and help him rebuild it. As they left Titan’s tower trying to block out all of the pain screaming at them, the two began a new journey.
What they didn’t see? Dick Grayson wheezing from his spot against a rock, pushing on the stab wound in his shoulder left by a paradoom. What everyone thought had been a fatal blow had knocked him out, heavily. As he sat there thinking that the blood loss would be the end, a hand reached out to help him, and Dick looked up into the eyes of Superman.
Together they’d created a plan, how they would fight again, how they would get to Apokalypse and defeat Darkside. The first thing they’d need? A certain ally.
“What is happening out there?” Raven asked from her spot beside Damian in bed. Over the years they’d grown closer, leading the league together as partners slowly pushed them together into more. It had finally happened one day during a storm and all training had been called off.
“Should we bring back the group in the mountains?” Raven asked from her spot beside Damian’s desk. “No, they’ll be heading back soon. They can handle it.” He said, hand shaking the water from his hair as he took off his shirt soaked from rain. Raven tried to ignore it but her flushed cheeks gave her away. Sure, she’d seen him like this before, during training, mandatory fun days at the beach, or the times Jon dragged her to Wayne Manor to use the pool with them. But it always got her like this, flustered and avoiding his contact. “What happened to your cheek?” He asked, and Raven got nervous she had been caught. Luckily she was reminded by him reaching out of the bruise that was there. “Just some training mishaps, it’s allright—” She paused now looking up the distance barely there. Their eyes met and it was like their connection pulled them even closer, not needing to speak. In the next few moments Damian had swiped all items from his desk as Raven was laid back across it the two locked in a kiss. The start of their powerful and strong relationship.
“Probably just training, ignore it Beloved. You need sleep.” He whispered, pressing a kiss to her shoulder. She opened her eyes barely leaning against him, “Training? You just don’t want to leave bed.” Raven said with a teasing tone. Damian huffed knowing she was right and began getting dressed, “Can you blame me when that’s my view Habibi?”
She curled more into the sheets, now moving to the middle of the bed. Damian smiled one more time and kissed the top of her head before heading out and making his way down to the courtyard.
Damian saw a group of people fighting in the center of the courtyard, and one in particular who made his blood boil, “Enough!” He called, his assassins freezing as well as Clark Kent, John Constantine, and Etrigan. Damian’s blood boiled at the sight of Superman as he began pulling the sword from his sheath, “You.”
“Damian, don’t. We need him.” The young leader stopped in his tracks, head turned to see the person he never thought he would again—his big brother. “Grayson?” He asked, eyes wide. Dick pulled Damian into a hug and for one of the few times Damian returned it, quickly. “You should be dead.” he mumbled. Dick let out a laugh, “Yeah, not the first time you’ve told me that.
Damian turned his head to Clark, “You shouldn’t be here, not after what you’ve done.” He said, with ice in his gaze. Clark looked at him, eyes glowing green. Liquid kryptonite, useful. Damian thought to himself. Clark stepped forward and began trying to convince Damian that he needed to go with them. That they could stop Darkside, but Damian wasn’t hearing any of it.
As they began to all argue, well, aside from Constantine and Etrigan who were taking in the fight as if it were entertainment, a voice called from the entryway of the base, “Baba?” Everyone turned and saw a small child standing next to Raven, eyes wide. He must’ve been 4 at the most, and even more of the shock was the little girl in Raven’s arms probably around 2.
“Come here.” Damian said, voice shockingly gentle. The little boy ran over and Damian picked him up protectively, “Why are you awake Richard?” Dick’s breath caught at the name of his younger brother’s apparent son. “I heard the fighting, and the assassins don’t train at night. Who are they?”
Dick held back a squeal at the sight of the little one Damian held close. “It doesn’t matter, Ibni, they’re not staying.” He began but Raven stepped up besides him, “Damian, maybe we should hear them out. Just, hear them out. Please.” She said, gently. Unable to say no to his Beloved, Damian let out a short nod, and led the group inside.
As they sat in a room discussion the plan that Clark had come up with the little boy ran up to Dick and was now standing beside him. Dick knelt to his level with a smile, noticing the emerald green eyes staring back at him, “Hey there kiddo.” He said softly.
The little boy smiled, “Hi, I’m Richard Wayne, Baba said that I was named after my uncle who died in the war. Did you know him?” Raven’s eyes teared up, not only from the question, but from seeing the older brother figure that she thought had died all those years ago, but turns out he’d been continuing this fight.
Richard let out a small giggle as Dick ruffled his hair, “I am your uncle. I’m Dick Grayson.” Richard’s eyes widened, “Mama said I’m not allowed to call people that word.” he said in a hushed whisper. Dick laughed and Raven crouched behind her son still holding the little girl in her arms. “It’s alright Ricky, that’s Uncle Dick’s name.”
Richard looked at her with suspicion then nodded, “Alriiiiiiight, if you say so. Uncle Dick do you want to see my dinosaurs?” He asked, the previous conversation lost in his head. Dick smiled and nodded, “I’d love to kiddo.” Richard ran out of the room and Dick stood with Raven, “He’s, perfect Rae. I’ve missed you both, so much.” He turned towards her and looked down, taking the toddler’s hand, “And who is this?” He asked with a smile–and Raven brushed the girl’s hair back.
“Alessia. Alessia Martha Wayne. She was born a few years ago, Richard is so obsessed, follows whoever has her everywhere.” The two sat down and Alessia leaned over seeing Damian in the seat next to her mother.
“Dada.” The little girl mumbled, exhaustion in her eyes. Damian took her into his arms and covered her with a blanket Raven set down. Dick watched the scene in awe, stopping only when Richard climbed into his lap holding up two dinosaur toys, “These are my favorite.”
“I’m going.” Raven repeated as Damian put on his Robin uniform, and it didn’t go unnoticed that she looked him up and down, loving the way it fit after all of these years. “Who’s going to watch the children if we’re both gone, Habibi?” Damian asked, not wanting her involved in this threatening mission. One he feared nobody might come back from. “The league members, we’ve gone on missions before, Damian.” She walked over and held his face in her hands, “You forget I can feel what you feel. We’ll come back Dami, we’ll return to them. I know you are curious about what happened to your father, this is the chance to find out.”
After the convincing words she said he reluctantly gave in and they were soon off after saying goodbye to Richard and Alessia, hoping they wouldn’t understand what the sadness in their eyes were. “Baba is so colorful.” Richard said, taking in the Robin uniform, bringing a laugh out of Raven. “When we return, maybe we can make you your own.” She said, then kissed his head.
Hours later, they were now in Darkside’s lair, faced with Bruce Wayne, in a modified Batman suit and brainwashed, more so than they’d ever seen. A fight broke out quickly, (I tried, but bro that ain’t gonna be put into words here.) and Damian end up on the floor dead, Raven having the crawshout of the century and releasing her father after healing Damian, her father who began to fight Darkside as the rest of them escaped.
The group was now sitting on the beach, booking out at what had become of Earth. As Damian and Raven overheard Barry saying that another Flashpoint could undo all of what had happened, they sprung towards him and Raven quickly figured something out. “I can channel a certain point through you, make sure that everybody comes back, that’s it, just the people. We’ll still have to figure out the Earth, but it’s better than a full reset.”
Of course those who had been with them for this time knew that Raven and Damian would fight the entire league before letting their children become a distant memory. And with them in mind, Raven was indeed able to channel enough magic through Barry that people started to appear all over the world, even the Titans who were fighting when the war first started. Starfire’s and Wonder Woman’s bodies began to heal themselves bringing it back to whole, and Dick pressed a deep kiss to his fiance’s lips. “I’ve missed you.”
Deciding that the teams of heroes would be best spreading out to cover what they could, the people who had gone through the recent fight made their way to the League of Assassin’s base, bringing Jon Kent and Donna Troy who’s assets would be a great help. It also didn’t hurt that he was Damian’s best friend.
“Damian, I’m proud of you.” Bruce said, mask now off, and his two sons could see the pain and exhaustion in his eyes. But then again, they were his eyes again. “I hoped that the League would one day have the ability to rebuild into something greater, and it seems you’ve done that.” Domain nodded, grateful for his father’s comment. “I-I’ve missed you, Father.” he said, and the older pulled his son into a much needed, and long overdue hug.
Dick let out tears at the statement, “That’s so fucking sweet.” He nudged Damian giving him a look and Damian rolled his eyes as the group made it to the courtyard and entrance to the base, “Father there is something you should be prepared for—” barely starting the sentence Damian was cut off by a loud shout and body running towards him, another toddling to Raven, “Baba, Mama, you’re home.”
Damian scooped up Richard who hugged him tightly, and turned to see his father’s face in a mix of surprise and amazement. “I told you we would be Ibni.” Damian whispered. “I know, but I heard Shiva say that if you died on the mission I’d get to take over. I don’t want to take over Baba, I want you and Mama home.” He said, fiddling with the domino mask that Damian had now taken off.
Richard turned to Bruce and smiled, “Hello, I’m Richard Way–Oops, I’m not supposed to talk to strangers. Baba, can I talk to him?” He said with a shy grin. Damian let out a chuckle and nodded, “Richard this is your grandfather.”
Bruce’s eyes filled with tears as Richard smiled and leaned into his arms. Scooping the boy up, Bruce let a tear fall, “Hello there, Richard.” He said gently. “Hi Grandpa, would you like to see my dinosaurs?” Bruce let out a tearful and happy laugh, “I’d love to.”
A scream was heard across the courtyard and Damian turned to see Jon holding Alessia, “Damian she’s so cute! Am I godfather, I am right? Right?!” Everyone walked inside, shown to their rooms by members of the league and Damian stood on the balcony of his and Raven’s room.
Arms wrapped around his waist and he spun around with a smile, “Well. We did it, there still a lot to fix but we—” She was cut off by him pressing a deep kiss to her lips, “Thank you Beloved, you’ve given me my world. I love you.” She smiled and kissed him back then pulled back resting her forehead against his, “I love you Dami.”
