Work Text:
To a friend of the past,
Another letter sent, another day let past our immortal ties.
Did our love truly mean it all to you?
If it was so, then why then are you by his side getting revenge?
You said that to gain his help would give you your acceptance,
Yet I was the one stood there as you cried in strife, not him.
I was there first by your side, gaining scars from each of your own mistakes
Blood spilt on my cloak I had always detested
Yet I never left, even when I wanted to
I never left.
——————————————————-
Where were you?
You were the one who said not to trust him
Yet there you were, by his side as he fought his idiotic war
You blind yourself with vengeance, what about our friendship?
I know I claimed otherwise but I hadn’t thought you’d have done this,
Then again I never thought you’d join him instead
——————————————————-
Burying you didn’t help with the grief of mutilated unfulfilled promises and wishes we had made
I claimed I wouldn’t mourn you if you died, little had you known that I’d mourn every time after
But as I wake up again and again to our spirited companion, our sole tie left
I step back into the forest where I live, and wait to never see you again.
From, a friend that once was
