Summary
Faced with a warning of danger yet to come, the Founders of Hogwarts devised a plan unlike any they had attempted before: to return — as themselves, and yet as entirely different people. To be born again into a future they could not fully see, carrying the wisdom and memory of who they had been whilst living wholly as who they would become.
It was the only path they could find towards a world in which the great dark will — the one that sought to extend its shadow through the very castle they had built — might finally be faced and defeated.
They did not know what they would find when they arrived. They knew only that they had to be there.______________________________________
