The farmers soft snores drew Sam's attention away from his conversation with Abigail and towards the opposite seats facing him. His voice trailed off as he stared at the big burly farmer, Guy, to his friends. Abigail snorted and tapped Sam's shoulder to bring his attention back to her.
“What?” Sam's asked.
“Dude he's totally exhausted! Let him sleep for the ride home!” she replied softly.
Sam looked back across to see that Guy's head had fallen onto Sebastian's shoulder, and he was gently snoring away. To Sam's surprise, instead of looking horrified, there was a gentle look of adoration on Sebastian's face. Abigail was back to chattering about the show they had just held, but he kept the men opposite from him in his line of sight.
Sebastian raised one hand and gently brushed away an errant red curl from Guy's forehead. He was as tan as a natural red head cold be, which wasnt very much, but a beautiful smattering of freckles covered most of his face like someone sprayed him with light bits of dirt. Sam watched as his best friend in the whole world moved his fingers ever so softly across Guy's cheek and down the curve of his jaw, till Guy shuffled a little in sleep and Sebastian pulled his hand quickly back.
There was a feeling in the pit of Sam's stomach that he couldn't quite explain. A flash of red heat that had nothing to do with the adrenaline from the show. To his surprise, he realized it was jealously. Hot, writhing jealously that Sebastian was the one who was physically closer to Guy's than he was. Which in itself was just as confusing. The farmer had quickly become one of his closest friends in the last year. He had shown up out of the blue last spring with a can so attitude and a big smile that warmed the hearts of everyone he came into contact with. From the moment Guy had bounded up with a smile on his face and offering to share some of his pizza Sam had been determined to become his friend.
They had gotten to become good friends in the past year. They all had actually. Seb never complained about Guy joining their weekly pool games or their band practices, even when he mostly just watched. But he had foolishly assumed that HE was the one who was closest to Guy. He had never felt an overwhelming pressure to do anything beyond basic friendship because he had felt deeply secure in his friendship with everyone.
But this night had changed things. And it wasnt just the look that his one best friend had given his other best friend that had him contemplating his feelings, which wasnt something he usually preferred to do anyway. Although he couldn’t lie to himself that was a pretty big reason. The other one, was Guy himself at the concert.
Seb could picture it so clearly in his mind. Standing there on stage, guitar firmly in his sweaty nerve wrecked hands, watching the crowd gathered below him. Right there, and sit friends, family and strangers alike stood Guy. He hadn’t even had time to change from his dirt covered overalls and take off his straw hat before getting on the bus to the city with everyone. He stood there in the crowd, the biggest smile Sam had ever seen on anyone’s face, giving Sam a big thumbs up. Then as the band played, he cheered louder than anyone, encouraging them all with every fiber of his being.
It had been heady. Empowering. A real, true fan that made him feel like the genuine musician he had been dying to be his whole life. That farmer, Guy, had done that for him.
And how did it make him feel? He just didnt have a word for it. He had felt crushes before, a big one on Penny at one point and even Elliott had made him pause when the writer had first moved to town when he was a teenager. But this wasnt some simple crush, a little thing that could be thought about occasionally and moved past with relative ease. This was more. This was deep, all consuming. He thought about Guy constantly, from the moment he woke up wondering what Guy was doing at that moment to those moments he fell asleep at night wondering if he was asleep at the same time as his friend.
Sam watched as Sebastian began to watch Guy once more. Jealously roiled in his gut in a way that made him deeply uncomfortable on multiple levels. He didnt like feeling this way, had never really felt it before. And he didnt like that he was feeling jealous of his childhood best friend, Sebastian, who had always been there for him in every way. It made sense to Sam that Sebastian would feel similar to him. Guy had an easy going nature that made everyone feel comfortable and safe. He was tall, strong and just so damn nice anyone could fall for him.
The rest of the ride home was relatively quiet. Guy snored away unaware as both Sebastian and Sam stared after him longingly. Sebastian seemed unaware of Sam’s recognition of what was happening. When Pam parked the bus back at the little stop outside Pelican Town, Guy sat up with a massive yawn, not realizing that he had spent the last two hours leaning on Sebastian’s shoulder. He smacked his lips and scratched at the light red stubble that had grown in throughout the day before glancing at everyone.
“Hey! So sorry I fell asleep on you guys. The show was great I swear! Its just the first week of spring and I had a lot to do and-“
”Its totally cool man!” Sam cut him off with a grin of his own. “Seriously its totally fine. Im just glad you could make it!”
“It really means a lot,” Sebastian chimed in, his smile smaller and more shy.
They all stood, everyone stretching out stiff muscles from the extended time sitting down in uncomfortable seats. Guy snagged his hat off the floor and plopped it firmly on his head before reaching above them all the hand off musical equipment to the people around him. He waited until every last person was off the bus, and seeing Jodi struggling to carry a sleeping Vincent, gently took the kiddo from her hands and began walking back into town carrying the little guy. Sam’s heart thudded hard in his chest as he followed his family back through town. He waved as Sebastian headed up towards the mountains and Abigail disappered inside the general store.
Jodi quietly unlocked their front door and guided Guy to Vincent’s room while Sam rushed to put his things away and catch his friend before left. To his happy surprise, Guy was leaning against his door frame fiddling with something in his hands.
“Hey man, everything alright? You gotta be exaughsted.”
Guy startled a bit before standing straighter and giving Sam a sheepish grin. “Oh year Im absolutely bushed, but I really wanted to give you something before I left if thats alright. I found it today when i was clearing some rocks out around the farm and I just knew you’d love it.”
Guy held out his hand and Sam placed his cupped underneath. His fingers slowly opened and then something hard, warm and smooth plopped into them. He looked at it under the the hall light and gasped. It was a tigers eye stone. Orange and yellow and absolutely stunning to see. It was warm from presumably being in Guys pocket all night and made Sam’s heart turn into melted goo. He looked up at Guy’s face to see the farmer biting his lip anxiously as if he was somehow nervous of how his gift would be received.
He reacted on instinct, grabbing Guy by the overall straps and hauling him back inside his room. The door to his room shut hard as Guy stumbled in after Sam, eyes wide. Before Sam had time to think things through he pulled Guy’s face towards his and pressed his lips firmly to the other mans. Guys lips were warm, soft, his stubble scraping gently against Sam’s face as their lips touched. Sam pulled back, his breathing heavy as he stared into Guy’s shocked green eyes.
”Sorry,” he breathed out heavily. “Guy Im so sorry I don’t know what I was thinking I…” he trailed off, panic starting to build.
Guy licked his lips nervously and whispered. “Can we do that again?”
”You want to?” Sam asked. Guy nodded his head hard, reaching out to place his hands on Sam’s waist.
“Yes. Please.”
Sam wasted no time reconnecting their mouths together. Their lips moved against one another’s softly but with intent. Pulling, pushing, a small nibble from Sam on Guy’s plush lower lip made the taller red head groan and mouth open. Sam slipped the edge of his tongue into Guy’s mouth gently feeling the other man shiver against him.
A knock on the door interrupted them, Sam pulling back with a gasp. Guy stifled a whimper, covering his mouth with his hands. Sam pushed Guy up against the wall next to the door and called out, “Yeah?”
”Hey Sammie, did Guy leave? I wanted to thank him again for carrying Vincent home for me.”
Guy’s eyes flared in panic. “Yeah mom he took off a few minutes ago. He’s gotta get to bed and be up again pretty early ya know?”
“Okay sweetheart. Sleep well tongiht! Im so proud of you guys today you sounded amazing.”
Sam smiled and looked at Guy. “Thanks. Goodnight Mom.”
Guy and Sam looked at each other as they listened for Jodi’s footsteps traveled down the hall. After a few minutes of silence they looked at each other and Guy started to laugh softly.
“That was so close,” he whispered.
”Yeah it really was. You alright?” Sam whispered back.
“Uh huh,” Guy murmured, his hands resting on Sam’s hips once again. “You?”
Sam pressed closer, his body flush against Guy’s. “Im great.”
Before he could think, Guy’s mouth was once again against his, their lips moving in tandem. This was hungrier than before. Full of want and need unlike he had ever felt in his life before. Sam found himself grinding his hips into the taller man, and gasped when he felt a hardness in those overalls that matched his own. Sam felt his blue hoodie being unzipped by fast hands, the fabric being pushed off his shoulders. He had to break contact for a second that felt criminally long as his shirt was tugged up and over his head. Then he was skin to denim as he pressed back as close as possible to Guy.
He fumbled with the little clasps that held the overalls in place, almost growling in frustration before Guy batted his hands away and undid the damn contraptions himself sending the garment drooping to pool at his waist. Sam quickly divested Guy of his shirt and almost hissed when they finally had skin to skin contact. Guy was tan all over, although there was a bit of a farmers tan. He had a soft spattering of chest hair that felt almost ticklish against his own smooth skin. The freckles continued down as well. Despite being a farmer Sam was surprised to see that Guy wasn’t cut with muscle. Oh there was strength, but it was toned and under a healthy layer of soft pudge that Sam just wanted to press his face into.
The two stumbled back towards Sam’s bed, landing with a thud on the mattress. Sam found himself on top of the larger man, holding himself up as if he was doing pushups. He stared down at Guy’s flushed face before placing another scorching kiss to his mouth.
”Sam…” Guy whimpered, his hips bucking up into Sam’s.
“What do you wanna do?” He panted back.
Guy blushed a deeper shade of red. “I really want to touch you. And I want you to touch me. Please?”
Sam groaned and reconnected their mouths before reaching down to begin to shove down Guy’s pants. They both fumbled around till both their hard cocks were free enough to touch. They hissed from the stimulation at they were able to finally connect the hot skin. Guy writhed beneath Sam, reaching down with one calloused hand to stroke the two of them in his large hand. Sam groaned at the intense pleasure of someone else’s hand. It had been a long LONG time since Sam had gotten any kind of contact like this from someone else, not since highschool when he was fumbling around in a closet with a girl who had since moved away from Pelican town.
He reached over to his bedside table and rummaged around till he had a small tube of lube and was able to coat both his and Guy’s hand in the slick substance. The room was filled with their harsh breathing as they worked together to stroke themselves, and ended up with Sam thrusting his slick cock though Guy’s fist and against the other man’s. They panted, groaned as softly as they could manage, swear dripping from their brows.
“S-Sam,” Guy gasped, his back arching. “Im going to cum. Im going to cum!” He whispered harshly, wiggling under Sam’s body as if somehow trying to flee the sensation.
“Good, me too,” Sam growled.
Sam growled and took over the stroking, thrusting harder and moving his hand with more speed. Guy used both hands to cover his mouth as he desperately tried to quiet himself. Then with a low groan Guy began to tremble and gasp, hot fluid jetting from his tip and all over Sam’s hand and cock. Sam groaned and thrust sharkily a few more times before finally reaching his own peak, adding to the mess across their hips. He collapsed on his back on the bed, legs dangling off the edge mirroring Guy’s. They laid there in the cooling air of the room, breathing smoothing out.
Propping himself up on one arm, Sam looked down at Guy. The other man was relaxed in a way Sam had never seen before. All his features were lax as he took calm, measured breaths. His cock laid glistening from lube and cum against the folded over parts of his overalls. The sight made Sam lick his lips.
“Hey Sam?” Guy asked, turning his head to look at Sam.
“Yeah?”
”Would you like to be my boyfriend? Im not really the casual type. I probably should have asked before we did all this.”
Sam’s heart hammered. “Hell yeah I want to be your boyfriend. Are you sure though? There’s no one else you’d like more?” Sam asked, thinking back to Sebastian who he knew would probably be devastated.
Guy shook his head. “No. I love all my friends here, but not like you. I want to be with you.”
Sam leaned down and kissed Guy softly.
“I want to be with you too.” He paused. “Are you going to stay the night or do you have to go home? Its pretty late.”
Guy groaned wiped at his face.
“Stay please, if thats alright. Just wake me before your mom gets up so I can slip out?”
Sam laughed. “Absolutely.”
Guy rolled to his side and stroked a hand down Sam’s arm till they could interlock fingers. “Thanks.” He paused once more, “Sam, if it’s not too much more trouble, can you get something to clean up with?”
Sam laughed before pressing a single kiss to Guy’s forehead, looking around for something.
“Anything for you Mr. Farmer man.”
