Summary
Following the instructions of her cousin Daenys Targaryen, Aera flees the Doom of Valyria carrying a bag of dragon eggs and her little brother. The spell she crafted promises to bring her to the moment of her family’s greatest need. Instead they arrive centuries too late, in the midst of a Trial of the Seven.
Aera believed her purpose was to deliver Valyria’s legacy to those she loved most. Instead she has brought Aerion’s greatest fantasies to life.

Thus began the retelling of the plight of Aera, Vaemax, House Targaryen, and the Doom of Valyria. The blackness of the magics Aera had endured, the mockery of the Houses that perished in flames, and a prophecy from the mouth of Daenys the Dreamer herself. It was a tale from a children's book, similar yet so much more vivid than the ones told to Baelor himself in his nursery.
Yet, he believed every word of it.
Throughout the course of the early morning, Baelor had thought that she had looked like the Maiden herself, pure as freshly fallen snows, and then with Vaemax clinging to her, the picture of the Mother in her unselfish love. But telling this story, she was maybe the Warrior, eyes dark reliving the fight for the survival of their House. Altogether, she felt like something older and more powerful, perhaps not seen on the shores of Westros since the Conqueror himself.
They discussed the need for safety and security, and settled on a plan to move to Dragonstone as soon as arrangements could be made. Baelor aired on the side of caution, hesitant to reveal the full threat of the Blackfyres, simply offering the knowledge that there were threats to their House that were not fully defendable in a Bannerman's keep. She accepted this and pushed no further.
Despite being well enough to awaken and discuss her own story, the morning was weighing on her and her words were slowing.
"Cousin, I think we have spoken enough for this morning, and I can now begin suitable preparations for our transport."
She blinked blearily at him, and inclined her head in acceptance.
He sent guards ahead to clear the path to her chamber. The keep would be busy at this time with servants beginning the day's preparations, and it wouldn't do for any rumour to spread about a mysterious Targaryen in such scandalous dress.
Baelor guided Aera himself, and he noted the way she appeared to radiate heat, and worried that she may have a fever, but no sweat marred her brow. She just looked tired.
As they entered the room, he paused at the sight before him. Shoes kicked off, and on top of the covers lay Aerion and Vaemax curled into one another, deep in sleep. Aera did not hesitate, leaving the support of his arm, and made her way over to the bed. Almost carelessly she disrobed, and Baelor looked away quickly. He turned again to make protest at her lewd behaviour, but found her tucked under the sheets.
It was a calm picture they made. Aera and Aerion bracketing little Vaemax between them. For all the faults and issues this would undoubtedly cause, something looked right and fitting in it.
It was with reluctance Baelor shook and woke his nephew, and guided him out of the chamber.
