Summary
It tells a tale of Rafe, an assassin from Freudan, seeking refuge in Elgar, the winning country of the war. Bearing the dreams of her orphanage, High Hope, she works tirelessly to make end's meet. However, with her upbringing comes prejudice. Children of Freudan are war-mongering killers, or so they say. Turned away of a good life for her orphanage at every corner, Rafe sees no other choice but to sully her hands -- much to the dismay of her mentor, Gaius.
One fateful day, Rafe finds herself at the presence of a sorcerer. She offers her a way out, a good life for her, and most importantly, the children of High Hope. It doesn't come free. Nothing does. Rafe needs to accept to be collared.
