Suo Wei is floating.
He feels so light and thinks that nothing can go wrong.
It's been three days since that night, yet he can still feel the kiss on his lips. How Chi Cheng soft lips kissed him not just once but three times! He's in heaven! He is feeling electric.
Suo Wei wanted to confront Chi Cheng the next day, however when he woke up around lunch time, Chi Cheng was preparing to leave as he was summoned at home. Which also means his mother misses her sons and wants them back to the family home. Chi Cheng invited him to come saying Cheng Yu is coming too but he passed on the invitation, which he regretted later, saying that he has some personal errands to do.
Chi Cheng didn't come home to their apartment the whole weekend, but he called Sunday night and assured Suo Wei that he'll be home after work the next day.
Suo Wei didn't know how he reached their office building. He walked straight to his desk but went on hard stop when he saw who was sitting on their office couch.
"What are you doing here?" Suo Wei asked his visitor who is animatedly talking to Shuai. Upon seeing Suo Wei, the visitor stood up and almost jumped to his arms.
"Yue Yue, why are you here?" Suo Wei asked again and gently removed the girl's arms around him.
Yue Yue was visibly displeased with his action and touched her long hair which is tied up in a single pony and pouted at Suo Wei.
"Honey....." She tried to touch Suo Wei's arms, but he turned around before she could do so.
Suo Wei went to his seat planning to fully ignore Yue Yue but this girl only went to his side and hugged him tight making him unable to move.
"Suo Wei, honey, come on talk to me" Yue Yue pleads with fake crying sounds that Suo Wei knew so well.
Shuai is quietly observing from his desk and counting the minutes until Suo Wei finally gives in and talk to Yue Yue. Suo Wei's record is currently at 3 minutes; will he last longer this time?
"Shuai, help me! He won’t talk to me!" Yue Yue stomped her feet on their tiled floor, but Shuai only continued looking at the files on his table, he still has designs to review.
"Nah, spare me from this drama. I have enough from both of you" Shuai sneakily looked at his watch. It's already been 5 minutes. Record broken!
Yue Yue was not fazed and tried her luck again and this time she sat directly on Suo Wei's lap and hung both of her arms on his neck. "Honey, please talk to me? hmm?"
Suo Wei took a deep breath and looked at the pouting girl in his lap. He really cannot stay mad at her for a long time. Whenever they fight, they won't talk to each other for days but as soon as Yue Yue comes to him to talk, his resolve will melt instantly.
"What did I tell you last time?" Suo Wei asked Yue Yue who now refuses to look at him. "Now you won't talk. Get off of me then!" He tried to gently push the girl off his lap, but she only held on tighter.
"I really tried this time! I promise! But I don't know! I just can’t do it!" Yue finally spoke.
"So, you sent me the text instead?"
Yue just nodded
"You did not send that to her?"
Yue shook her head. Suo Wei pinched the bridge of his nose.
Shuai decided that he doesn't want to be left out of the conversation and move his office chair towards Suo Wei's desk
"So, what happened again?" Shuai asked the two
Suo Wei looked at Yue Yue prodding her to answer. Yue Yue knew that she already hit Suo Wei's patience limit and moved from his lap to the other empty chair. Now she is seated between Suo Wei and Shuai who are still waiting for her answer.
She started sobbing. Loud.
"I told Suo Wei that I will break up with my girlfriend for real this time. But I cannot do it!" She covered her face with her hands as she cried.
Shuai only rolled his eyes at her friend finally understanding the situation. "So, what did you do then?"
"I sent..." sniff. "I sent..." another sniff, Shuai showed her mercy and gave her the tissue box. "I sent the breakup message to Suo Wei instead" Yue Yue blew her nose while still crying.
Suo Wei crossed his arms and faced his friends "and I told her not to talk to me unless she showed me proof that she sent it to her girlfriend."
"And she hasn’t done it?" Suo Wei only shook his head and Shuai can only sigh for his dramatic friends
Yue Yue is one if not the most beautiful girl in their class during first year in college. At first Suo Wei and Shuai thought that she was a snob, but when they are grouped for a project in one of their major subjects, their duo becomes a trio. Yue Yue's energy is unmatched when she's onto something. She brings colors to the room, and everyone likes her. She, however, is unable to hang out with them most of the time after class as she works part time model and moved to the states after their second year. She has not met Chi Cheng yet but friends with Cheng yu. Yue Yue always claimed that she's the one who brought Shuai and Cheng yu to be finally together -- Which is partially true as Shuai initially thought that Cheng Yu likes her instead, but the truth is she was playing the wingman for them.
She came out to them when she came back home and introduced her girlfriend who is the very reason why Suo Wei won’t talk to her right now.
You see, long distance relationship is no longer working for Yue. She's always sad recently and her fight with her girlfriend is getting worse. Her girlfriend wanted her to move back to the US but her career is only starting to grow here in China, and she doesn't want to let go. She's getting noticed by fashion brands and getting new deals, but the girlfriend always insists on her going back, which stresses her.
Suo Wei and Shuai already advised her on what she should do but she find it hard to break up, thinking that it is selfish of her to choose her career over love.
"Yue, honey, you have to do it for yourself. You must be brave. hmm?" Suo Wei pats Yue Yue's head for comfort "It's already taking a toll on you, and we can see that you're not happy anymore."
"We won't tell you to break up with her if we see otherwise" Shuai chimed in reaching out to hold her hand.
Yue Yue just cried more and the two just let her. They know after this, she will be stronger.
Yue Yue left their office after lunch and both Suo wei and Shuai were glad that they don't have site visits and they are able to bond with her even for a bit. It is rare times that the three of them get together even most of the times Yue Yue is the one missing their hang outs due to work but one call of distress from her friends, she will drop everything and be with them.
The day went by without anymore hiccups. It's almost closing time and Suo Wei still on his computer finalizing some design. He wants to finish on time so that he can go home early. He was too busy to notice the arrival of another guests until Shuai greeted the newcomers.
"oooOhh what brings you here Your Majesty. How can I Be in your service? " Shuai teased his brother, even making a deep bow only for his hair to be ruffled harshly.
"Shut Up!" Chi Cheng didn't stop until Shuai slapped his hands away. Shuai then went to Cheng Yu who was only watching the chaos by the door.
Suo Wei then looked up and was unable to stop the smile that appeared on his face upon seeing Chi Cheng. Cheng smiled back at him. He missed Suo Wei the whole weekend, but he needed those days to calm down his heart.
"Cheng! Why are you here?" Suo Wei asked. I missed you, he wished to say.
"I came here to pick you up. Let's have dinner before we go home." Chi Cheng went to Suo Wei's side to pick up his work bag. "Come on, you're the boss, I think you can clock out 5 minutes early." Suo Wei readily agreed and prepared to leave, putting his laptop to sleep and taking his bag from Chi Cheng to start packing up for the day.
Suo Wei's heart is doing a summersault inside his chest. Is it a date? Did Chi Cheng just ask him to go on a date? The heat on his body is rising, and he is starting to blush. He let Chi Cheng take care of his things as he doesn't know what to do with his hands and hide the shaking.
Chi Cheng was no different. He was buzzing in his skin. He cannot look at his Wei Wei while he packs his bag. He was having cuteness aggression, and He might kiss him right there and then.
"I want ramen and gyoza. Can we have that?" Suo Wei asked Chi Cheng who nodded and seemed to have forgotten the other people in the room.
Shuai was just looking at the two idiots with a proud face. There seems to be an improvement Suo Wei did not dare tell him. He felt Cheng Yu pinching his waist and he just knew his boyfriend was about to cause trouble.
"Are we invited to this dinner?" Cheng Yu interrupted the two. He has this mischievous glint on his eyes knowing that the answer is no but Chi Cheng won’t say it out loud.
Chi Cheng rolled his eyes at him, getting annoyed at his friend and brother. They should leave and have date of their own. Why are they still doing here. He planned to go here alone but Cheng Yu caught him at their own office parking lot, and he just cannot lie where he is going. He initially thought that they would just go with their separate cars but Cheng Yu ride with him instead. Calling it saving gas, Shuai has his own car which he can drive later. He was about to answer but Suo Wei beat him to it.
"No. You can't!" Suo Wei told Cheng Yu in a high-pitched voice which surprised everyone in the room, and they looked at him with their mouth agape. Suo Wei tried to cover his face out of embarrassment. His face starts to turn red while trying to save face but It's already too late for Suo Wei to do so as Shuai already looking at him with one eyebrow raised.
"And why is that? I want Japanese food too, Da wei?" Shuai teased his friend a little bit, totally ignoring his brother's doomed face.
Suo Wei was like a deer caught by headlights and started to stutter. How can he answer when Chi Cheng is at his side and was like looking at him expectantly or he is just giving it more meaning than it actually has. What if this isn't really a date but a group invite? His heart constricts and face starts to fall. What if the kiss is just nothing and Chi Cheng already regretted it but here he was expecting that he was being picked up for a date.
Chi Cheng noticed that Suo Wei's mood is deflating and he cannot have that tonight. He moved behind Suo Wei and placed his hands on his shoulders, pulling the little one closer to his chest. This move earned a sound from Suo Wei that sent tingles on Chi Cheng's nerves. "Shuai, stop teasing Wei Wei" Chi Cheng warned his brother, which only laughed at them in response. Chi Cheng ignored him and whispered to Suo Wei's ears "Let's go, now, okay?" Suo Wei smiled at him and nodded.
Shuai, however, wanted to tease them some more "Okay, okay... I'll stop now. Shall we go then?" Chi Cheng took a deep breath and wanted to strangle Shuai at that moment if Cheng Yu did not interfere.
"That's enough you two. We'll go home now Cheng. Enjoy your dinner Wei Wei!" He waved at the two and pulled Shuai at the door not before sticking his tongue out at Chi Cheng.
Chi Cheng is pinching the bridge of his nose. He knew that Cheng Yu did that on purpose, but he still wanted to punch his friend's face. That nickname is for him to use alone and he's not letting anyone calling Suo Wei that aside from himself. The rage he is currently feeling vanished when Suo Wei called for him.
"Cheng? Are we still going?" Suo Wei is looking at Chi Cheng with those big bobba eyes that he was so crazy for, and he burn this world if anyone interrupted them again tonight.
"Of course!" Cheng offered his hands to Suo Wei "Shall we go now?". He didn't know he was shaking until Suo Wei held his offered hand and smiled brightly at him.
"Let's go!" Suo Wei lead him out of the office door holding his hands tight like he's afraid that someone will take Cheng away.
As if Chi Cheng will let that happen.
