Summary
When the earth swallowed Kore up, Demeter's rage flared, an all-consuming fury that ravaged through the lands. Famine spread, plagues tormented every village─and in the chaos bloomed Asterope, Goddess of the very things that created her.
She wasn't meant to be beautiful. Every touch withered the flowers, every whisper hurled through forests like a ghost unseen. She tried to undo the damage of Demeter─but how could a deity such as her bloom life beneath her fingertips?
And so the world continued to rot. Asterope stopped trying. There was no use, anyway. She was a shadow to Demeter, nothing compared to her beloved Persephone, who could coax the world into fruition at the melody of her voice. Perhaps that's why she was taken; to bring life to... wherever she was taken. And they didn't know where.
But when the trickster God Hermes plummeted on her home with the young Dionysus in his arms, Asterope didn't expect to be raising him with the golden God. As Asterope navigates the complexity of the universe, she has to also learn to grapple personal relationships─the most prominent of which is with Hermes.
In a world where Gods twist stories for personal gain, can two deities find love in truth?
