Nuli (slave girl) - common word for female slaves, encompassing various status of female slaves. Not all Nuli are concubines. Not all concubines are Nuli.
Knullar - official word for the lowest status of sex slaves of the dynasty, used on official documents.
Plaything - When a knullar is contracted by a Master, she now belongs to the social status of 'Slave', of the designation 'Concubine' and within those ranks, she bears the moniker 'Plaything'. 'Plaything' is a base synonym for knullar. Also called Concubine Knullar.
Concubine - a woman living in a contracted relationship with a man, primarily for sex in exchange for a living. There are many different levels of concubines. Most are women under contract for a fixed amount of time and could retire, much richer in wealth, after their contract was over.
Official Wife - also called the main wife or first wife. She is married lawfully according to the rites of the Empire and runs the household.
Legitimate children - children born from the official wife, or registered under the official wife's name.
Illegitimate children - children born from concubines and nominally registered under the official wife's name. They are a step below legitimate children and may inherit property but not titles. Copyright @SunshineIsBeautiful
Offspring - knullars begotten from the union of a man and his knullar concubine. They may not own property except in special circumstance decided by their Sire or Master and the property must be audited regularly by the Bureau of Concubines.
Bureau of Concubines - a subdivision of the Ministry of Rites. It governs all the rites, rights and legalities of owning a concubine and being a concubine. No entity other than the Emperor may interfere with the workings of the Bureau.
Jade - a penis made of jade, usually fashioned in the model of the Master.
Concubine gruel - a daily porridge made from shava grains, contains powerful aphrodisiacs to enhance a concubine's body.
Shava grains - a dark or light brown grain food cultivated exclusively for its high aphrodisiac properties. Its secondary use is to control fertility in concubines. Shava grains are highly addictive and may not be taken by anyone who is not a concubine.
