Summary
Mello knows that he's not perfect. In fact, he's far from that. It's why he keeps everyone at bay, watching the world go on from a distance. After all, someone as awful as him has no right to try and take space in it.
By chance, he reunites with Near, the boy he bullied back in elementary school. In an attempt to clear up his remaining unfinished business, Mello decides he's going to do whatever he can to make it up to him.

my only ever experience with kids from orphanage was listening to a bunch of 10yos talking about slenderman on a schoolbuss and i dont really know the english system either but. shouldnt he be. in one place. like one orphanage instead of trying to get him adopted. uh.

One of Mello's greatest flaws is that he's incapable of keeping his emotions under wraps. When he's angry, the whole world will know it. It shows in his widened eyes , the yelling that roars from his throat. The same is true now. When he's sure the blood must be visibly draining from his face in panic and the sweat dripping down his face will make an ocean big enough to drown in.
