She didn’t even flinch as she felt fleshy tentacles wipe the tears from her face, looking up to find Cyn with that tired, curious expression of hers.
'Why didn’t you, wondering gaze, let them scrape me then?'
'Because … because,' through her sobs she tried to come up with a valid answer, any answer really as the question rattled her mind. Why did she help the drone that caused her nothing but trouble?"

Really great fic about the aftermath of the gala massacre, does a great job leaning into MD's body horror and portraying Cyn's sick obsession with Tessa, gives some much-needed insight into the strained relationship between the two, incorporates some amazing parallels between the show's lore and the lyrics of Daisy Bell (I never realized how well they fit together)
