Chapter Text
Todd was going insane from the constant edging. He had been brought to the verge of orgasm nearly a dozen times by his count, and yet every time, without fail, Dahlia had stopped him dead in his tracks, a shit-eating grin plastered across her smug, annoying, adorable face.
"Oh, are you upset, baby? I set a very clear goal for you! If you want to cum, all you've got to do is get out of your restraints," Dahlia said, her voice low and sweet, bordering on demonic. Previously, she was under the impression that there wasn't a single dominant bone in her body, but seeing Todd all riled up and overcome with frustration made her hornier than fuck.
What she hadn't noticed, however, was just how much Todd had worn through the rope. It was hanging on by the barest possible thread, and Todd hadn't slowed even a bit.
"What's wrong, sweetheart? I know for a fact that you're more than man enough to—"
A loud snap cut through her words like thunder, sounding like the audible manifestation of her boyfriend's last nerve snapping. Before Dahlia could even react, Todd was already on top of her, breaking the flimsy chair with his sheer body weight as he grabbed Dahlia by the face and pulled her into the world's hungriest and most overdue kiss.
"God, not a fucking day has gone by where I haven't fantasized about fucking destroying that tight little ass of yours. listening to your bratty little fucking jabs melt into slutty, needy whimpers as I give you what you fucking NEED." Todd growled as he groped Dahlia's breasts like they had gold buried in them.
"O-oh fuck! Wait! Chamomile!" Dahlia exclaimed, causing Todd to freeze in his tracks, wondering what he had done wrong for her to suddenly use the safe word.
"Look, there's nothing I'd rather do than let you fucking obliterate me, but we kinda need to escape while we have the chance." Dahlia said, causing Todd's brain to blue screen.
"Wait, but how? We're both—oh," Todd said, his mind catching up to present reality as he finally realized that he had escaped his restraints.
Dahlia couldn't help but giggle at her boyfriend's one-track mind. She planted a soft kiss on his forehead.
"You can be a total dumbass sometimes, you know that?" Dahlia said, love in her tone.
Todd went to reply, but his words were stopped dead in his throat as a loud slurping sound echoed through the room.
"You know, when people talk about 'the power of love,' I don't think that's what they mean. But I mean… If it works, it works." Adam said casually as he sipped his coffee, dragging Jude behind him by his hair.
"Oh, please don't let me interrupt your reunion. I can wait until you two are done before recapturing you." Adam teased with a light chuckle, wagging his eyebrows suggestively.
The two entangled lovers desperately and clumsily rushed to their feet, each grabbing pieces of the broken chair to defend themselves with.
"Oh, so it's a threesome? You even brought toys." Adam joked, his tone filled with a fathomless menace as he threw the unconscious Jude to the side.
"Can you be fucking normal for one singular second, you goddamn freak?" Todd cried out in exasperation at his captors' weird sense of humor.
"Yeah! And what the fuck is up with Twinkus over there?? Do you have some kind of addiction to kidnapping queer people?" Dahlia chimed in. If Jude were conscious, he would have been very offended.
"Well, in my defense, I haven't exactly had a lot of social interaction in the past 8 years. As for "Twinkus," well, he murdered my wife. So I'd argue anything I do to him is entirely justified." Adam said casually as he cracked his neck.
"Fucking whatever, man. Just keep back, or I'll shove this thing up your dickhole sideways." Todd threatened, standing protectively in front of Dahlia.
"…Sorry, was that threat supposed to make things less sexually charged?" Adam asked, raising a brow.
Todd went to retort, but before he could even utter a single word, Adam's fist was already inches away from his face. Miraculously, just before his face was turned into a piece of modern art, he managed to lean back just enough to make Adam's strike miss.
Todd looked up at the behemoth of a man, expecting some level of anger or frustration, or at the very least annoyance. But instead, all he saw on Adam's face was pride akin to that of a father watching his son catch a baseball.
"You've got some good reflexes there, kiddo! Have you ever considered joining the navy?" Adam asked, quickly recovering from the miss as he transferred his momentum into a spin kick, striking Todd square in the chest hard enough to send him flying into the concrete wall of the storage room.
"ARE YOU SERIOUSLY TRYING TO RECRUIT MY BOYFRIEND RIGHT NOW?!" Dahlia shouted as she swung the broken piece of chair right at Adam's head.
Adam didn't even bother dodging; rather, he simply turned his head so that the blow would connect with the strongest part of his skull, the forehead. The wooden chair leg snapped off on his head as Dahlia felt a surge of hope. Maybe this psycho wasn't invincible after all.
"That was a good hit! Tip for next time: use a stabbing move with the jagged edge rather than a blunt strike. more likely to incapacitate and less likely to break your weapon." Adam said gently, like a father teaching his daughter how to ride a bike.
Before she could even process what Adam had even said, an incomprehensible pain shot through her entire body, robbing her of all the air in her lungs and making her fall to her knees wheezing.
"Sorry for the kidney strike, Sweet Pea. I'd like to go easy on you, but the last time I underestimated a woman, I ended up with 3 broken ribs and a dislocated jaw. Granted, she was half a foot taller than you and about a hundred and fifty pounds heavier. Just sit tight, catch your breath, and don't strain yourself." Adam said, his normally unphased expression breaking into one of concern as he knelt down and placed a comforting hand on her back.
During Adam's brief moment of weakness, Todd struck, stabbing right toward the monstrous man's neck. He'd heard the advice Adam had given Dahlia and decided he might as well take it.
Adam, of course, had predicted such a move and was ready to dodge the blow and counterattack. But, just as he was about to move, Dahlia, with sheer determination, managed to will herself through the pain long enough to kick Adam's prosthetic leg out from underneath him.
Adam, monstrously skilled as he was, was not at all used to only having one leg. So, at that critical moment, his instincts betrayed him, as he tried and failed to catch himself with a leg he did not have.
The jagged edge of the chair leg drove right into his right eye. The pain was beyond words, and yet even still, Adam did not let himself be overcome by it. At the last possible moment, he tilted his head to the right, preventing the piece of wood from stabbing through his eye socket and into his brain.
He fell to the floor, remaining still as he played dead.
Just as Todd breathed a sigh of relief, Adam rose up and instantly put him into a chokehold. Dahlia wanted more than anything to help her boyfriend, but the pain was too much for her to move.
"…you two both did amazing. You should really be proud of what you've accomplished today." Adam said, not even a hint of rage or anger in his voice, just genuine pride and admiration.
Once Todd fell unconscious, Adam got up to reattach his leg, only to see something that made his heart stop. Jude was gone. Adam rushed out of the storage locker like a bat out of hell, looking around frantically for his escaped captive, to no avail.
His mind raced, frantic and desperate as it searched for a way to salvage the plan.
"Could Fiona help? No, she'd ask too many questions… I could find somebody else to take his place maybe? No, no, there's not enough time! She's going to need a body…" Adam said, his tone desperate and frantic, sweat dripping down the side of his face as he chewed his thumbnail until it bled.
He turned back, trying to calm himself down. Plans had gone awry in the field before, and he'd almost always managed to come out on top. Eventually, a solution would reveal itself eventually so long as he calmed down and thought about it rationally. Just as he had that thought, his eyes landed on Dahlia.
A pit formed in her stomach as she looked up at him and saw that for the first time, Adam didn't look calm, cool, or collected. He looked... conflicted and ashamed. Tears formed in the corners of his remaining eye as he spoke, his tone filled with a fathomless contrition.
"…God forgive me…"
Those were the last words Dahlia heard before the pain became too much, and she fell unconscious.
