Work Text:

Cullen wasn’t sure he would ever get used to living in Wayne Mansion. His & Harper’s entire apartment fit inside one of the ball rooms with plenty of space to go. And that only reminded Cullen of the two other ball rooms bigger than that. It wasn’t surprising he had gotten lost multiple times. Though he tried to ignore that fact as much as possible.

The revolving door of occupants the house provides was a welcome change of pace for him. Alfred had made Cullen feel welcome to the family the first time he meet him months ago. Not that he lived in the house with him it was almost hard to see him as anything other than a sort of grandfather figure. Though he thought that would make things weird if Tim saw him as the same.

Stephanie and Cass were quick friends with his sister but they always tried to include Cullen into their discussions when possible. Dick had only shown up once since Cullen first moved in. The man looked pretty worn out and slept most of the time he was there. But the short conversation they had was a pleasant one. Mr. Wayne, as he refused to call Him Bruce turned out to be something of angel in disguise. It took time for him to realize his gruff exterior was just a shell that hid a kind and caring man. After that life with the Wayne’s was pretty easy.

Damian had threatened him on more than one occasion, but Tim tried to assure him that was just how he showed his love. Cullen wasn’t entirely convinced but, he didn’t want to argue with his boyfriend.

Tim Drake, his boyfriend the sound of it still didn’t sound true to him sometimes. He wondered when he would wake up and realize this has all been a dream. But waking up to the sound of someone knocking the pattern of “Shave and a Haircut” on his bedroom door always reminded him that this was very much real.

“Five more minutes.” He tried to yell into his pillow. He wanted to see his boyfriend sure, but sleep was a fine mistress herself.

“Alfred said breakfast is ready in two minutes. You don’t want to disappoint him do you?”

Tim sounded far too smug for Cullen’s liking. But he had a point, Alfred’s disappointment was lethal from the looks he gave some of the Wayne boys. He had gone this long without seeing it directed his way. He’d like to keep it that way, so he reluctantly rolled out of bed and threw on the comfiest clothes he could find in thirty seconds.

When he finally opened his door he saw the brief flash of a mischievous look on Tim’s face before he was being hoisted in the air. The arms wrapped tightly around his back caused him to wrap his legs around Tim’s waist.

“W…what are you doing?” He squeaked out.

“Hugging my boyfriend of course.” Tim replied as if it was completely normal.

Which fair to him the hug was pretty normal. But the fact that he was now walking down the stairs with Cullen still in a bear hug wasn’t. Cullen just tried to accept his fate as he laid his head down on Tim’s shoulder. The boy’s freakish strength was something that still took a lot of getting used to even though Tim liked to show it off frequently.

Cullen more heard than saw Damian walking past them as the boy let out an audible “Tsk.” Before saying in a snide voice. “No PDA in the halls Drake.”

Tim stuck his tongue out at the passing child but did relent by putting Cullen down. Their loss of contact didn’t last long as he soon intertwined their fingers for the final steps into the dinning room. Three plates were already laid out on the large wooden table. Mr. Wayne filled his spot at the head of the table, Tim and Cullen both sat on either side of him as they began eating.

The patriarch of the Wayne family has very specific rules the couple had to abide by during meal time. His rules also extended to other areas which is why the boys had to sleep in separate rooms at night.

Breakfast was eaten mostly in silence. Only the occasional clink of silverware or the sound of coffee being refilled. Eventually the silence was broken when Alfred walked in and handed a phone to Mr. Wayne. Something about a “Business call” had Tim’s adopted father excusing himself from the table. When his footsteps finally receded, Tim shot from his chair and rounded over to Cullen’s side of the table.

“So… what’s the plan for the day?” Tim asked as he once again pulled Cullen into a hug.

“I’m not sure. I picked yesterday.” He laughed into Tim’s chest.

“Okay fine. How about a movie marathon?”

Cullen mulled the idea over in his head. As if he was gonna say no, just so he didn’t so too desperate to agree to any proposal his boyfriend had. He finally answered with a short “Sure.” Before Tim was then dragging him by his hand to the Family movie room. When they finally reached the opulent space Cullen was seated on the couch as Tim went digging through their film collection.

“Sooooo. How do you feel about the Star Trek movies?” Tim asked holding an entire box set in his arms with the widest smile on his face.

Cullen almost hated to wipe that smile off Tim’s face when he said “Not really a fan personally.”

Tim gasped in mock horror before setting the movies down and taking a seat next to Cullen.

“How can you not like Star Trek?! You like Star Wars.”

“That’s like Apples and Oranges Tim. Star Wars has action and adventure. Star Trek is just a bunch of bored old people sitting around talking about nothing.”

If looks could kill Tim would’ve been mourning his own boyfriend at the moment.

“Star Trek is a grounded and realistic look at the world from a futuristic perspective. Star Wars is good but it’s practically a children’s move compared to the masterpiece that Star Trek is.”

Cullen couldn’t help but laugh. “Your such a geek.”

  “No you are!”

  “Now you’re a child.”

  “Heathen.”

  “Pretty Boy.”

Tim finally cracked a smile during their childish pretend fight. “Thank you for the great insult oh wonderful Mr. Row.”

The two boys couldn’t help but let out matching laughs before play shoving each other on the couch.

“You’re an idiot.” We’re the last words Cullen let out before being shoved onto his back. Tim now leaning over him.

“Oh yeah. Would an idiot do this?” Tim asked before leaning in for a kiss.

Just as the twos lips grazed a loud shot of disgust was heard to their right. Both boys looked over to see Damian standing in the door way, a look of horror written over his face.

“Can’t you two Imbeciles keep in your own bedrooms?!” He shouted at the two as Cullen’s face went red.

“Like you haven’t caught B doing worse, demon brat.”

Damian’s face fell more at whatever he was reminded of before he slammed the door shut and stomped away. Tim let out a small chuckle before laying his down on Cullen’s chest. The other boy began carding his fingers through the raven like hair in front of him.

“I apologize for my family. Mainly Damian, of course.”

“It’s okay…can I get that kiss now though?”

Tim chuckled again as he looked up at his boyfriend’s blushing face.

  “Of course.”

Notes:

Glad to be writing these two dorks again. Not gonna claim this is anywhere near in character for these two. But Cullen appears in like 20 comics so give me a break. Lol
Hopefully more stories to come for the one person who cares.
