i agree with honey! but to give u more of a context and timeline, his last cover (this one) was posted 10 months ago. a few weeks after this, he released “how many things” and exactly a month later, his new EP was released. he promoted the EP & performed for around 2.5 months before this “hiatus”. i personally dont think it’s a hiatus bcs there wasnt any official statements from his agency, but sometimes it feels like it :”) i dont mind waiting for him tho!

If you’re a real fan, you’d know that Jaehee wants to be the most authentic version of himself. And as much as I hate praising his company, they actually let their artists be. So if his company, the one that manages him, is fine with him dating, what gives you the right to be this mad?

It’s an occupational hazard, Daeyoung thinks, that his art is the result of his feelings.

But, really, how does one expect him to keep writing about wanting to die from sadness and heartbreak when he comes home to Yushi every night?

To Yushi quietly humming in the kitchen as he makes them a bowl of ramen to share. To Yushi sleeping soundly on their sofa, cuddling with Sunny, their cat, and waiting for him to come home. To Yushi burying his face in his laptop, looking away the moment he sees Daeyoung just to kiss him before going back to it. To Yushi walking around their apartment in his clothes which seem to be a tight fit around his shoulders but swallow him everywhere else. 

Between the same routine every day—wake up, reread the schedule Riku meticulously makes for him for the day, get ready, kiss sleepy Yushi goodbye before he heads to the company, and try to go through his day with a permanent smile on his face—he still looks forward to coming home to Yushi the most. On stage, the expectation of doing well on stage sits heavy on Daeyoung’s shoulders. But when he’s with Yushi, he feels like he can just simply be.

“I think my fans are onto me,” Daeyoung breaks the silence, cuddling closer to Yushi. “I don’t think I did a good job keeping you hidden.”

Yushi laughs quietly, his body shaking Daeyoung’s along as he does. “You and Sion hyung can’t keep secrets. I’m not surprised.”

“Hyung,” Daeyoung whines. “You’re supposed to assure me that, no, everything is fine.”

“Well, that’s Riku’s job.” Yushi shrugs. “I’m just here, like a nation’s secret princess waiting for the perfect time to be introduced to the world.”

Daeyoung knows Yushi is saying it as a joke, but he can’t help but think about how much easier things would be if the circumstances were different. What if he weren’t Kim Jaehee, the soloist, and they had met as two normal people instead? Still, Daeyoung wouldn’t trade this for the world. In the end, he gets to be with Yushi, and that's already everything he ever wished for and more.

“Okay, hyung. I got the message loud and clear.”

Yushi turns red at that, and hides his face in Daeyoung’s neck. Ah, his unbearably adorable, cat-like hyung. The absolute love of his life, his biggest muse. Daeyoung never thought it’s possible to love someone this much before.

“I actually just want to hide you forever so I can be the only one who can love and adore you,” Daeyoung sighs in Yushi’s hair.

“Corny,” Yushi snorts.

“I’m serious,” Daeyoung whines again. “Sion hyung and Riku hyung like you too much. I feel like I’m fighting them for your attention sometimes.”

“Silly.” Yushi pinches his sides, earning a pained yelp from Daeyoung. “You’re the one I’m dating, why would you care about them?”

“Because I understand why they would love you.” Daeyoung smiles. “But yeah, I’m the one you’re dating, so they can suck it.” Daeyoung sticks out his tongue, making Yushi roll his eyes fondly.

“You’re such a kid, seriously.”

Sunny meows from the floor, not happy at being left out of the cuddle pile. She jumps up, squeezing herself in between Daeyoung and Yushi. Tomorrow, he’ll be back to promoting and doing performances, going back to his old routine, the one that he’s worked his whole life for. He couldn’t be more grateful to have this life.

So Daeyoung pets Sunny a little harder, feeling the way her purrs rumble against his chest. Then he looks at Yushi a little longer, committing this moment to his memory forever. He looks peaceful with his eyes closed, Sunny snuggling up to him, and Daeyoung thinks this might be it.
