“Max seduced you?” Alex laughs incredulously. “Somehow I struggle to believe that.”
“Well he did. And now I think I’m kind of falling for him and I hate it. Help me.” George groans, lying back and sprawling out his limbs. It’s a little childish but he’s allowed to be dramatic about this- he’s falling in love with his rival.
“Okay, okay,” Alex soothes, probably sensing that George is about to go from playful theatrics to actual hysteria. “Well, do you think he might be developing feelings for you too?”
He thinks of staring at the outline of Max’s face as he said, ‘You could come find me. I’d look after you;’ he thinks of waking up in Max’s bed for the first time with the covers draped over his clean body; he thinks of Max’s firm, warm hand on his torso and ‘let me see you.’
And he nearly says yes.
Or. Max and George start hooking up in Qatar 2024. It's hate sex until it's not.

Right. Right. Just as soon as I can breathe thru my snot and can see through my tears, im beating the absolute shite out of Max. Good for George that hes forgiving and warm and kind, but that ain't me Chief. RIP Max im putting you in the ground.
Put this bit as my murder motive:
--“Yes, George. Nothing has changed since then,” Max sighs without meeting his eyes.
His stomach drops straight through the floor.
He feels unwanted, used and discarded, worthless. It stings like nothing he’s ever known. He’d rather Max had just hit him, not even in the good way either. He would rather he’d slapped him so hard his ears rang, or punched him so hard his nose bled. That is the pain he knows, that is the pain he can handle.
