Summary
During the first 24 years of his life, Jongho truly never entertained the prospect of painting subjects other than nature until last week—the day he saw the young noble who occupied his entire mind—enough for him to pick up his brush and paint said man on his meager supply of paper. And he realized now that it wasn’t just a fluke, as he still felt greedy on wanting to paint Yeosang more, in various situations, with diverse expressions, in a variety of poses, as if the more he painted the man, the more he could possess him.
With the difference in societal class, Jongho believed that there was no hope for him to end up with the kind noble; however, his mind conjured the belief that he could still have him in another way through his paintings. If he drew him enough, maybe the noble’s pictures would be sufficient to mollify his heart, as at least his creations could stay with him forever.
