Work Text:
“Hyung, you need to drink.”
Sion doesn’t even have it in him to scold Yushi for his tone because he knows the younger is coming from a place of concern. Yushi’s lips are fixed in a pout and there’s a furrow between his brows, which Sion finds very, very adorable. Too bad Sion is five seconds away from dying of hunger.
Okay, maybe that’s a bit dramatic. He can survive a few more days before it starts getting so serious that he needs medical help, but it’s not Sion’s fault. It’s his human blood-bag drinking partner that changes her mind, not even a week into the contract. Sion doesn’t know where it went wrong because he’s tried his very best to be respectful and careful with her. Their town’s blood facility is also a pain in the ass to work with. It’s been almost a week, and they still haven’t successfully found him a substitute drinking partner.
Sion can drink from blood bags, except they taste like cow shit. He’s only ever tried it once, grimacing through the whole bag, only to get unbelievably nauseous for the next three days. Yushi thinks it’s only a matter of his body getting used to blood bags, but Sion is too traumatized to give it another shot.
“No, I’m fine,” Sion sounds weak even to his own ears.
“You’re not.” Yushi clicks his tongue. “You expect me to believe that?”
“Okay, yeah, I haven’t eaten in a few days. But vampires are stronger than–”
“Than I think, yeah,” Yushi cuts mockingly. “I got it the first five thousand times. Doesn’t change the fact that you need to eat.”
“Ushi, please don’t make me,” Sion pleads, sending the younger his best impression of puppy eyes. “If I have to drink from a blood bag again, I’m going to throw up. I’m already nauseous just thinking about it.”
“It doesn’t have to be from a blood bag.”
“We’re not allowed to hunt.”
“I didn’t say anything about hunting.” Then, Yushi’s voice goes softer, “You can just drink from me.”
And Sion can’t possibly hear that right. “What?”
“You heard me,” Yushi shrugs, but his shoulders are too tense for him to look nonchalant. He’s no longer holding eye contact with Sion, busy looking down at his fingers.
“No,” Sion rejects the offer immediately. He gets up from where he’s lying down, ignoring the pain in his head at the sudden movement. “Don’t even think about it.”
“But, hyung–”
“No, Yushi. I’m not going to drink from you. If I have to drink from blood bags then I will.”
“Why though?” Yushi sounds genuinely confused. “Why would you go through all of that suffering when I’m literally right here?”
“Because I don’t want to hurt you.”
“Do you hurt your drinking partner?”
“Wha-no? I don’t, but that’s differe–”
“How is it different?”
“Because,” Sion exclaims, not exactly knowing what to say. “It’s different. You’re not a registered drinking partner. What if I accidentally hurt you?”
“You can never hurt me. I trust you.”
I don’t trust myself, is what Sion wants to say, but he swallows the words down. “I don’t think it’s a good idea, Yushi.”
“Well then I’ll just register myself.”
“It’s not that easy,” Sion protests weakly. “Yushi, let’s just drop it.” Sion regrets the words as soon as they leave his lips.
Yushi sends him his pathetic, sopping, wet cat look, the one Sion always has a hard time resisting. It’s not Sion’s fault that he likes cute things and Yushi just happens to be the cutest there ever is. Sion stares back, fully knowing he’s destined to give in to all of Yushi’s whims, but God forbid he’s still a little competitive. When he gives up ten seconds later, Yushi does a quiet celebration to himself, smiling widely and happily like Sion isn’t about to drink his blood. Sion wants to bite his cute little face.
“Weirdo, why are you so excited?” Sion feels fondness coursing through his body. “Aren’t you scared?”
“Why would I be scared?” Yushi snorts. “You’re projecting.”
Sion throws himself on top of Yushi, tickling him with all the energy he has left until the younger pleads for him to stop. Yushi looks pretty like this, underneath Sion, all pink from happiness.
“I’m ready.”
“N-now?” Sion sputters.
“Well, yeah? Why not?”
Good question, Sion thinks. There’s nothing stopping him from doing it now. But still, Sion feels incredibly nervous even though this isn’t his first time. If anything, Yushi should be more nervous than him.
“You’re serious about this?” Yushi nods. “Where do you want hyung to bite?”
“Eh? Isn’t it always on the neck?”
“Not really.” Sion shrugs. “It depends on the person.”
“I think my neck is fine. I don’t really care.”
Yushi is handling this better than Sion. Sion feels like his head is about to explode. The position they’re in isn’t helping either. Yes, blood drinking is a means of survival to him, but not when it’s with Yushi. Something about it feels extremely intimate, even with both of their clothes still on.
“Hyung will ask you one more time, you’re sure about this, right?”
“Yes, I am,” Yushi huffs, annoyed. “Just do it.”
“Okay, bossy,” Sion laughs, trying not to sound nervous. “First, you need to relax.”
“I’m relaxed,” Yushi says stiffly, definitely not relaxed. Sion boops his nose, making Yushi scrunch his face. Yushi is so cute, Sion would kill himself for him.
“Tell hyung if you want to stop or if anything hurts, okay?”
“Okay.”
“It’ll hurt a little at first, but then you’ll feel a little… tingly.” Yushi hums, visibly gulping as he looks at Sion like he trusts him, so much, even when his nervousness is slowly breaking through his nonchalant facade.
Sion noses along Yushi’s neck, finding the perfect area to bite, keeping all of Yushi’s little gasps in a little airtight box in his memory. Yushi bares his neck as Sion goes lower and praises him, a series of good, just relax, and hyung will take care of you.
Sion’s glad they’re not standing up, because the longer he noses along Yushi’s neck, the weaker his knees feel. Yushi smells so good and Sion can already imagine what he tastes like. Sweet, so sweet, just like Yushi’s everything.
And maybe that’s what scares him the most. What if he gets addicted to the way Yushi tastes and can’t drink from anything or anyone else? What if he messes this up? What if he traumatize Yushi and the younger one wants nothing to do with him? What if–
“Mmhh, hyung, hurry,” Yushi’s whines cut through his train of thought. Right, how dare he not give Yushi all of his attention? Especially when he’s like this, whiny and pliant and looking so delicious under him.
“Sorry,” Sion whispers the word on Yushi’s neck.
Sion’s hands find Yushi’s and the younger happily takes them. Sion squeezes their entwined hands and hears Yushi’s sharp breath, bracing himself for the impact.
When Sion’s sharp teeth breaks skin, he feels light headed. From the taste of Yushi’s blood on his tongue, the way Yushi whimpers and writhes under him, and the sinking feeling that Yushi has ruined everyone else for him.
The hold on Sion’s hands goes lax, signalling that the pain is now gone and replaced by something warm. Sion takes in Yushi’s quiet, contented hum. He forces himself to stop, licking every drop of Yushi’s blood and making sure the wound is perfectly closed. When Sion lifts his head back up to look at Yushi, the younger is smiling up at him. Sion mirrors him.
“Hyung is so good to me,” Yushi slurs out, his eyes soft, like he’s five seconds away from falling into a deep slumber.
“Did it hurt?” Sion fixes Yushi’s bangs, tucking the hair behind his ear. Yushi shakes his head, tugging at Sion’s shirt and making him fall forward. “What–”
Then his lips are on Yushi’s lips. It happens so fast that Sion doesn’t have time to think about it. Yushi kisses him lazily, like he doesn’t really care about the kiss, he just wants to feel Sion. It feels like a dream to kiss Yushi, but this isn’t right. Yushi isn’t conscious enough for this and Sion isn’t going to take advantage of him. If they’re going to kiss, they both need to be completely conscious of it. He doesn’t want it to be something they sweep under the rug and never talk about again.
“Yushi,” Sion pulls back from the kiss, wincing when Yushi whines, confused at the sudden loss of contact. “This isn’t–you’re not in your right mind,” Sion sighs.
“Let’s get you some water and sweets, yeah?” Yushi reluctantly lets Sion go, looking all teary-eyed when Sion comes back with a bottle of water and some snacks. “Here, we don’t want you passing out.”
Yushi does as he’s told, quietly chewing on the snack bar. Sion takes it as a chance to look at Yushi, fixing his messy hair with gentle fingers, smiling to himself when Yushi unconsciously leans into the touch.
“You’re okay?”
“Yes,” Yushi croaks out. “It felt… weird. But nice.”
“Good, as long as you’re okay.”
Yushi finishes his last bite, drinks half of the water, turns towards Sion and says, “I’m a hundred percent awake and conscious now.”
“Hm? Okay, that’s great.”
“Can I kiss you again?”
Sion has always thought that he has amazing self control. Sion also thinks God sent Yushi into his life to prove him wrong.
“Ushi-ya,” Sion whines, dropping his head on Yushi’s shoulder.
“What, do you not want to?” Yushi sounds hesitant. Sion wants to laugh at his face. There’s not a single alternate universe where Sion doesn’t want to kiss Yushi, or want Yushi in general.
So Sion takes the lead this time, carefully cupping Yushi’s face before connecting their lips in a kiss. The kiss feels more real this time, and Yushi’s hold on his arms feels like a confirmation that this is real. Sion is kissing Yushi and Yushi is kissing him back.
When they part, they stay looking at each other for a few seconds. Sion doesn’t know what he looks like right now, but a lovesick fool is probably accurate. Yushi is smiling at him, giggling under his breath. Sion feels like he can explode from all the fondness he feels for Yushi.
“Is it selfish if I want you to drink from me for the rest of your life?”
Sion doesn’t tell Yushi that in vampire language that’s the closest thing to a proposal. Sion just shakes his head, smiling so hard his cheeks hurt.
“Only if you’re sure about it.” Sion caresses his cheek. “I like it when you’re selfish when it comes to me.”
Yushi rolls his eyes but his hands still tug Sion closer. They fall back onto the bed, Yushi snuggling up to Sion’s chest comfortably. His heart is beating so hard right now and he hopes Yushi can hear it. Because it’s all for him.
(“So where are the other places people like to get bitten?”
“I mean I’ve only ever done necks and wrists.”
“What’s the weirdest place you’ve ever heard of?”
“Not the weirdest, but my friend drank from someone’s thigh before.”
“Oh, hyung, we should try that next.”
“Yushi, I swear you’re going to kill me.”)
