Summary
Naruto achieved all his dreams. At least, that's what everybody else thought but there is one thing that he wanted the most aside from being hokage and he wanted this as much as he wanted to be hokage. He wanted it so bad but he never got it.
And to this day, he still regret not having it. No one knows aside from himself that he still wants it, he still craves it so much it becomes sinful. Sinful because he shouldn't want it anymore, he should've stopped wanting it a long long time ago.
But why can't he stop? Why can't he stop wanting it, craving it, needing it in his life? Or should he say that he can't stop wanting her, craving her, needing her, and thinking about her all the time even though he has a whole family waiting for him at home. And she has her own family now, married to his best friend and has a daughter that is friends with his son.
He may die old and still regret not having her the way he wanted her. All the “what ifs” in his head left unanswered.
Maybe in another life, they could be together because he tried with all his might to have her and live happily ever after.
But that just happens in fairytales right?
