And when Scout said “there ain’t much to it” with a dismissive shake of his head, Medic told him as such. Desperate to make him understand, desperate to defend an artist he’d never even met. This whole exhibit mirrored his own heart far too closely, and in some nauseating, self-absorbed way, he was desperate to defend himself.
Heavy nodded when the doctor finished rattling on about the painting. “Is fascinating,” he confirmed. “There is much to it, little rabbit.”
When they both turned away from the painting and back to the runner, they were startled. Scout was watching them with huge eyes, and his hands had fallen still around the packaging.
“...You really think so?”
