Chapter Text
It was a warm evening after the revolution in Detroit. The weathers were finally getting warmer. Markus was staring out from window of his little office. It was nothing much just a little room in Jericho but Markus liked his office maybe it was because he spends the whole day in there. Fighting against humans was not over it was much easier for sure but they still had a lot of work to do.
That's why Markus picked a team for androids. Team Jericho! Markus liked how this sounds. He liked the idea of him not being alone. Of course there was North Josh and Simon. North with her brave spirit. Josh for his calm thinking and Simon for his medical skills. But most importantly for their friendship and trust.
But there was someone else in this group. Someone else that no one expected. Connor. Markus didn't really knew why he offered this position to Connor. Yes he was so clever and strong. Markus saw what he can solve and how he fight. But why did he trust him? Markus didn't even know this himself. Not just the group the whole androids were unhappy with this decision. Connor himself rejected this offer at first but know he was part of the group.
No one in the group trusted him at first. He was like an android who trapped inside a body of a deviant. North was the first got close to Connor surprisingly. No one knew why but North had a soft spot for Connor. Time by time they accepted him. Seeing the sacrifices and the effort he put through for the androids. Connor worked hard not just to prove himself but for the sake for his people.
He was still cold and distant but Markus knew this is harder for him and he just needs time. And he liked see the difference on Connor. Liked his little smile his silly joke attempts how his eyes lit up when he gets excited. Maybe these were not so obvious but Markus noticed.
He suddenly snapped out realizing he was thinking for a while and turned back to his work. Everyone was gathered in office and working for the next meeting since morning. Markus saw that he was not the only one who zoned out. Now they were talking about the festival was going to happen in Detroit. For the peace between humans and androids and celebrating spring.
Markus actually wanted to go so bad. He couldn't even remembered what was the last time he made fun stuff. Looked like the others were also excited about this event.
After a while they were all forgot about work and just talking about this festival. And Markus realized Connor was still doing some paperwork. He probably didn't even know they were talking. He was just like this.
North followed Markus gaze and understood what Markus was thinking. She smiled and hit Markus' arm.
"Hey Connor?"
Connor looked up realizing now everyone was staring at him.
"Yeah?"
"Wanna come to fest this weekend with us?"
They were all waiting a *no* or an excuse like *sorry I have to work* but Connor smiled.
"Sure."
Everyone was actually surprised but trying not to show Connor. Markus thought about how beautiful Connor's smile is. He smiled too.
