Work Text:
Hyunjin has a new boyfriend.
Han Jisung. Same age as Seungmin and Hyunjin. Only 8 days older than Seungmin herself actually, which makes her queasy. Another Virgo. She scrunches her nose.
Graduated music production and design. Much to Seungmin's disappointment, he is not an embarrassing soundcloud rapper. There goes the chance of giving Hyunjin the ick.
As a matter of fact, there is not much of him online at all. Which in and of itself is suspicious. But Seungmin has her ways around things. He's an only child, which is also not great because so is Hyunjin and it’s another point of connection for them. Seungmin has an older brother.
He's a bookstore clerk which is probably the worst of it all. Hyunjin is at heart, a book lover and she deems audiobooks and kindle unacceptable. She’s always said nothing compares to the feeling of paper under her fingertips as she goes through the book with a cup of tea. Very old school. Seungmin has always found it adorable.
Annoyingly, so does Jisung. So he shares another interest with her. Seungmin has never been huge on reading, she’s preferred to shower Hyunjin in rare editions she knows she’d love that were either too expensive or impossible to find if you didn’t have the connections.
Hyunjin is prone to collecting boyfriends left and right. She is bisexual, but she’s never been with a woman. If Seungmin really thinks about it, it’s a blessing. Meeting a girlfriend would probably be 10 times harder. But she’s pretty and… can be naïve at times. Two things men love.
Han Jisung is not fooling anyone. Well, he might be fooling Hyunjin, actually, but that’s why Seungmin is here. She’s always looked after her. She takes that job very seriously. And Han Jisung might be good, but he is only a man. And he’s human. He’s bound to make a mistake one of these days and Seungmin will be there to catch it and exploit it.
//
“So, you met at the bookstore?” she asks, taking a sip of her wine.
Jisung gives her one of his sleazy smiles. He must have worn braces as a kid. No one has teeth that perfect naturally. “Yeah. Yeah, she was looking for, um. What was it, jagi?” Seungmin’s eye twitches.
“In Dialogue with nature.”
“In Dialogue with nature, that’s right!” they say in unison.
He did that on purpose. He knew the name of the book. It’s not cute.
“Right, so, there I was… dusting off the horror genre, you know? When I saw this… well, I thought I was dreaming because of how beautiful she was. Just unreal.”
Seungmin searches Hyunjin’s eyes. She hates that shit. Still, she laughs because she’s sweet and she doesn’t want to embarrass Jisung. Whatever. Seungmin can nod along with a pleasant enough smile as well.
“Yeah, it was very romantic.” Hyunjin wraps a hand around his bicep and leans into him.
Seungmin wouldn’t call searching for a book and the person whose literal job is to help you find it, helping you find it romantic. But it’s fine. She knows what Hyunjin means. She’d find it romantic if someone helped her find paint brushes too. She’s always been idealistic – looking for meaning where there is none, not believing in coincidences, choosing to believe it’s fate. She despises dating apps and whenever she meets someone organically, as she says, it’s romantic. Seungmin’s not gonna be the one to take issue with it.
“So romantic.” Seungmin nods with another sip of the wine. “And so lucky you bumped into her again just a week later! Must have been fate.”
She watches Jisung’s face carefully. His expression doesn’t change. He’s good. But he does take his first sip of the evening. Takes a second before replying. One thing Seungmin has in common with Hyunjin is not believing in coincidences. Where Hyunjin finds it cute destiny, Seungmin gets curious. Nothing ever happens for no reason.
“I think so too.” Jisung says, playing with Hyunjin’s fingers. Still, he’s not looking at his girlfriend as he says it, he keeps eye contact with Seungmin.
“Why didn’t you ask for her number when you first met her?” she pushes. Her head tilt is completely innocent. “Could have lost her forever.”
Jisung goes over his teeth with his tongue. Something tells Seungmin this conversation would be going differently if Hyunjin wasn’t hanging off of his arm. “Would’ve been a little presumptuous, no?”
“Did she pay with cash or card?”
“Oh god, I told you not to drill him too hard.” Hyunjin giggles with an eye roll, none the wiser.
It does get her to unglue herself from his short body, so Seungmin will take a small win.
“I told you she’ll go all in on you.” She smiles apologetically at Jisung.
Jisung raises his hands in defense. He almost spills his wine on Seungmin’s carpet. “Hey, man. All good with me. I got nothing to hide.”
Seungmin wants to punch him in the jaw. He’s all nonchalance and this boyish charm. He’s handsome, even she can admit that much. But not Hyunjin’s level. Nowhere near. No one really is.
But it’s fine. She can let her have her fun. Seungmin can have a little fun of her own as well. Hyunjin never carries cash with her. Seungmin is willing to bet she paid with her credit card, Jisung memorized her name and looked her up. It’s what she would have done. Takes one to know one. Seungmin is always telling her to keep her accounts private, but… Truth be told, Hyunjin loves attention. And online attention doesn’t seem dangerous to her.
It’s a good thing she has Seungmin in her life, really. She keeps an eye on her. Takes care of anyone that seems dangerous. And this Jisung guy definitely isn’t as innocent as he’s trying to appear.
//
“Tell us about him.” Felix plays with her straw. Seungmin chews on the inside of her cheek.
“He’s smart.” Hyunjin says.
He’s short, Seungmin thinks.
“Very well read, knows every reference I make, which is a rarity.”
His laugh is annoying, he’s very loud.
“He works out.”
Yeah, well, he stalked you and is creepy. Whatever. Big muscles don’t make up for that.
“You’ve met him, Seungminnie.” Felix turns to smile at her, fingers full of pretty rings and dangly earrings swinging side to side. Wish I didn’t. “What do you think?”
“He’s…” Seungmin takes a look at Hyunjin, at her carefree smile, relaxed shoulders, long legs crossed. She’s wearing wide cream pants today. They hug her hips nicely. “He’s okay. Yeah, very handsome.”
Jeongin sips her lemonade and raises her eyebrows. “Pretty tame. For how your judgments usually go.”
“I mean, he’s not—you know. It’s fine.” She shrugs.
Hyunjin’s smile drops and Seungmin digs her fingernails in her forearm. She should have kept quiet.
“He’s not what?”
Felix and Jeongin avert their eyes. Not a comfortable atmosphere. Seungmin should have taken that class her mother suggested at 14 about reading social cues. But no matter how many times she’s blunt, Hyunjin doesn’t get mad at her. Not for long anyway. She understands. And what are friends for, if not for being honest?
“I mean… He’s fine! He is, really. I promise.” She tries for a smile and a placating hand on Hyunjin’s knee.
“But what were you gonna say?”
Well, if she’s unwilling to let it go.
“I mean… baby. I just think he’s not… gonna stick around for long. That’s all. But it’s fine, you can have fun!”
Hyunjin crosses her hands. Her pretty heart shaped necklace hangs between her small tits.
“Why won’t he stick around?”
Prickly today, then. That’s fine. Seungmin’s had years of handling Hyunjin and the whole palette of her moods. She likes that about her. How expressive she is. What she’s not fond of is how trustworthy she can be.
“Hyunjin-ah. Be honest.”
“No, you be honest. What’s wrong with him?”
Seungmin already has a whole list, but she can’t go that far this soon. So she goes for an easy out.
“What is he gonna do? How does he plan to support you? He can’t take care of you.”
“He takes care of me.”
“He works at the bookstore.”
“Oh, so you mean money. I can take care of myself.”
Seungmin should really tread lightly here. It’s a sore spot.
“Of course you can.” She can’t. “But it doesn’t mean you have to.”
“I don’t have rich on my list of requirements for a boyfriend, but thanks for your concern.”
“No one said rich.” Seungmin tries to use a soft tone. “Just… financially stable. He doesn’t have to be your sugar daddy, I’m just saying it would be nice to know you can depend on him if needed.”
Hyunjin chews on her lower lip. Her lip gloss is pretty much gone, left on the black straw. Seungmin’s been eyeing the shininess for a while now.
“I’m also just an—an artist. Same can be said for me. We can’t all be born to Kims.”
Seungmin never means to make her feel like less than. It breaks her heart to cause her any pain. So she lowers her guard a little and touches her leg again. “There is nothing just about you. Or your art. You are the most ambitious person I know, honey. What is his ambition? He doesn’t have to be born into money, but he’s 28, happy just working at a bookstore? No other goals? Inspirations?”
He probably has some regarding that music degree but. That’s laughable. Seungmin wants her to think realistically.
Either Hyunjin actually thinks about it and finds she has no answer, or she feels touched by Seungmin’s words. She knows how proud of her Seungmin is. She lets it go, swishing the ice in her glass before taking another sip of her cocktail.
“Whatever. I don’t wanna think about that right now. He’s sweet.” She turns back to Felix and Jeongin. Seungmin almost forgot they were here with how quietly they’ve been breathing. “What’s new with you? How’s the kitchen thing going?”
//
Seungmin:
honey
I’m sorry if I overstepped today
you know I just worry about you
and I want what’s best for you
always
Hyunjinnie:
it’s okay
I know
thank you
//
Seungmin:
do you wanna come over?
movie, snacks, wine?
Hyunjin:
sorry Seungminnie, already have plans with Jisungie
Seungmin:
hey, there is a new art gallery opening tomorrow
want me to pick you up?
Hyunjin:
omg, Jisung got us tickets this morning actually
sorry:/
you wanna come with us?
Seungmin:
that’s okay
wanted to go for you
but I’m glad you have someone to take you
enjoy it, baby
Seungmin:
should we grab drinks on Thursday?
or any day, really
whatever works for you
I’ll move my schedule around
I feel like I haven’t seen you in forever
Hyunjin:
I know:(
I can’t this whole week, it’s a mess
I’m sorry
I’ll text you for next week?
I promise I’ll make up for it
So, this Jisung thing is becoming a problem. Granted, Hyunjin could just be avoiding her because of the comment she made, but she likes to believe they are above passive aggression and can communicate freely. She apologized, Hyunjin said it was fine. Even so, if that were the case, it would still be Jisung’s fault.
But she hasn’t been out with Felix or Jeongin either, which is indicator enough Jisung has been hogging all of her free time like a greedy little rat. Hyunjin says he reminds her of a squirrel or a quokka, but Seungmin sees more of a rodent, if she’s being honest. She might be biased.
Still, she doesn’t get mad at Hyunjin. She’s prone to getting swept up in a new relationship easily. She always wants it to work out. Hyunjin desperately wants to be loved. Seungmin would love nothing more than to give her exactly what she craves, served up on a silver platter. But somehow, someone always gets in the way. It’s never the right time. Hyunjin can never see clearly that Seungmin is what she needs. No one would take better care of her. Certainly not Jisung.
//
They do finally manage to carve out the time to hang out. When Hyunjin is single, she spends a lot of time at Seungmin’s place and Seungmin feels more free to drop by unannounced. With a clingy boyfriend on her arm, those opportunities are rare.
She doesn’t look good. Seungmin was scared she’d find her glowing, happy beyond belief after weeks of not seeing her. Bathing in the honeymoon phase. She hates to admit there is a small part of her that likes what she sees. It just means Jisung’s era must be nearing its end.
“What’s going on?” she asks, gentle. Always gentle with Hyunjin. She’s like a baby bird. “Is something wrong?”
Hyunjin sighs, dragging a palm down her beautiful face. Seungmin looks at all the silver rings adoring her long fingers. Her chipped black nail polish. Slowly, Hyunjin nods.
“Is it Jisung?” she can’t help but jump on it with enthusiasm, but she does manage to keep her voice level.
“No.” Hyunjin just shakes her head, looking tired. “No, he’s great. It’s just… rent, again. I don’t know if I can make it this month.”
This often happens. Hyunjin works in a boutique and Seoul prices are insane. Several times it has happened that by the end of the month, she’s wondering if she’ll be able to pay her rent. Every time, without missing a beat, Seungmin has offered to cover it. She fills her days with books and long walks and teaching that one English class for kids. She does make appearances in her mother’s firm, when important investors and business partners visit. She’s expected to inherit the CEO position one day, but they’re in no hurry. Seungmin has finished her internship there, she knows everything there is to know about the work she’ll be expected to do.
So, she doesn’t have a strict work schedule.
Hyunjin was a literature major and she’s been painting since she was 16, so Seungmin knows her heart aches for a more creative job, but these are the current options. She really doesn’t mind stepping in if Hyunjin ever needs financial help. All she wants to do is take care of her.
Still, every time she does offer, Hyunjin refuses, too proud for her own good. It’s so silly of her, Seungmin would buy her anything she points at with her beautiful finger.
“Well, at the risk of having another one of our arguments…” she starts and goes through her purse. “I am going to tell you, you really don’t have to worry about rent.”
Hyunjin is shaking her head as Seungmin writes down a check for her. “I told you a million times, I can’t accept that.”
“And I told you, friends help each other out.” Seungmin smiles at her when she signs it, ripping it off and offering it across the table. “You helped me out when I had zero friends in college. I help you out if you need it. Simple.”
“Those are completely different things.”
They are. Seungmin could have easily made friends in college. The thing is, she saw this girl at the beginning of her first year. Beautiful was too poor of a word. Breathtaking. Makes you stop in your tracks type of beauty. Seeing someone’s class schedule is embarrassingly easy on their campus, when every major just hangs them up on the notice board, really. Making yourself appear in the same hallway as someone is even easier.
Taking notice of the pattern of coffee shops and museums and takeout places someone visits is not all that complicated. If you’re motivated and organized enough. And Seungmin was both. Her mother has always taught her to go after her goals, that there is no thing unreachable to her. Nothing she couldn’t accomplish. So, becoming friends with the pretty girl with bright hair became another thing on the list of things Seungmin is capable of.
“You don’t have to cash it in right away.” Seungmin assures her, waving it so Hyunjin would finally take it. “Maybe something will come up. Just as a backup, so you’re not stressing over it. Your face is too beautiful to break out, Hyunjin-ah.”
She will sometimes throw in small compliments through jokes, just to try to sedate the hunger threatening to overtake every moment of her existence. She can never be too honest, because it would freak Hyunjin out. If she told her all the things running through Seungmin’s mind, she might get scared. Seungmin is well aware her love for Hyunjin is a lot. It needs to be kept on a leash.
Looking at the check and back at Seungmin’s face, Hyunjin accepts it with a defeated sigh. Seungmin’s heart does excited little jumps, threatening to spike her blood pressure. She imagines this is how male birds feel when they’re chosen after their mating dance.
“I will pay you back, though. If I have to use it. Thank you.” Hyunjin says, in her proud, stubborn voice, with a frown. She hates that she has to do this. Seungmin wishes she’d let her do even more for her.
She finds her hand and covers it with her own. “You absolutely don’t have to pay me back. Hyunjin-ah, you’re my best friend. This is nothing. If I can make your life better in any small way, I want to do that. This is silly, I’d do so much more for you.”
Once, Hyunjin asked if Seungmin would give her a kidney, if necessary. She’s always been the type of person drawn to would you still love me if I was a worm category of questions. She needs the reassurance someone would choose her, stand by her side through everything.
Seungmin, feeling brave and sleep deprived, found her answer easily. “Someone can live without a kidney. I’d give you whatever organ you need. Something bigger than a kidney.”
“Like a lung?” Hyunjin asked, bags under her eyes and her greasy hair in a bun. She was almost falling asleep at the table. Seungmin wanted to kiss her so bad it hurt her to breathe.
“Actually, you can also live without one lung. But yeah. I’d give you mine. Or both, if you needed.”
Hyunjin stayed quiet for a while. It was one of the moments Seungmin was scared she let it off the leash, this monster enveloping her heart, making it beat for Hyunjin. That it was scary and too much and too stupid to admit, to wish to do. Still, she was being truthful. There was nothing Hyunjin could ask for where Seungmin’s answer would be no.
Still, Hyunjin seemed… pleased, in a way. She’d never admit that, of course. She tucked a stray hair behind her ear and got up to get them another energy drink. Seungmin straightened the page of her book she messed up as she was leaving.
“It’s not silly and it’s not small.” Hyunjin says, turning her hand around and holding Seungmin’s wrist. Seungmin does the same. She thinks she might throw up. “It means a lot to me. So, thank you.”
Swallowing what little she can gather in her mouth, Seungmin nods and avoids eye contact. She hopes she’s not blushing too obviously. “You’re welcome. Anytime.”
//
When she gets home, Seungmin strips to her underwear and grabs her laptop. She goes into the locked folder, the one she’s been adding to for years. Ever since she’s known Hyunjin, really. It has posts from her private Instagram account she used in college and since deleted. Anything she deemed too embarrassing. Too revealing sometimes, maybe. Sexy, but too shy to post anywhere else.
It has photos Seungmin took herself as well. She’s not as good with the camera as Hyunjin – no one is. She’s just talented in every line of creative work, Seungmin is convinced she’d get amazing at anything if she tried. Still, the artistry of these photos is not all that important.
They were taken mostly during their sleepovers or vacations. A lot of them are of Hyunjin sleeping. Seungmin mastered the art of uncovering her body without waking her up. Rolling her shirt just a little up to reveal her stomach. Her waist. Her bellybutton. Getting the covers off to show her underwear, both lacy, fancy ones and comfortable, old, cotton pairs. With little holes in them because she’s had them for so long.
Seungmin slips a hand in her own underwear, scrolling through her collection. It’s a little embarrassing how easily she can be affected. If Hyunjin gives an inch, Seungmin’s body interprets it as a mile. She’s wet, collects it and brings it to her clit, focusing on the screen.
Hyunjin’s thighs. Hyunjin’s knees. Her hands. Her lips. Her fucking lips. She always bites them too much and complains that it hurts later. Puts on pretty lip balms that smell like strawberry. Seungmin is itching to check if they taste like it too. Her teeth, her eyebrows, her ears. How her hair pools in the dip of her collarbone. How her nipples stand out through her sleep shirt.
Seungmin closes her eyes and imagines Hyunjin on top of her. Not just a picture on the laptop, real, live in flesh. She knows a lot about Hyunjin’s preferences. She knows she sometimes fakes it so she doesn’t hurt the guy’s feelings. She wonders if she has to do that with Jisung.
No. She’s not thinking about him. She’s not letting him steal Hyunjin away in her fantasies as well.
Hyunjin wants to try anal, but she’s too scared it will hurt. Hyunjin has complicated feelings about sucking dick. She has a small mouth, she chokes easily. Sensitive gag reflex. Some guys love it. Some guys assume she’d be amazing at it because of her lips. Her long throat. She doesn’t hate it, she likes being looked at. Likes sucking on the tip and wonders if her face looks good when she does.
She doesn’t like it when they make her cry, but she fantasizes about someone hurting her. She’s never expressed these desires to any of her boyfriends or hookups. They’re not trustworthy in her opinion. She likes the feeling of being filled up, but doesn’t think the potential risks are worth that pleasure.
Seungmin would know just how to treat her. She’d handle her with great care. She’s an expert in all that is Hyunjin, sex would be no different, she’s confident.
She speeds up her finger and grabs her own tit over her bra. Imagines it’s Hyunjin’s hand on her body. They are similar in size.
Seungmin would let her use her however she wants. She’d explore anything that’s scary to Hyunjin, she’d give her everything she wants. She’d let her ride her thigh until she was shaking, she’d let her sit on her face until Seungmin passed out. She’d fuck her into the bed way better than any of the guys that had the privilege. She’d make her happy and satisfied and so loved, Hyunjin wouldn’t have energy left in her beautiful brain to overthink anything.
When she cums, she imagines Hyunjin slumping on top of her, exhausted and sweaty and ruined. Whispering I love you in Seungmin’s ear.
//
Hyunjin and Jisung don’t text on Instagram, which sucks for Seungmin, who has her password. It wasn’t her plan to acquire it, really. She’s not a tech wizard or a hacker. But Hyunjin was asleep at her place and Seungmin had the password to unlock her phone.
So she logged in, went through some chats. Nothing major. She doesn’t use it much for texting anyway. Some friends, a couple of guys replying to her story, trying to flirt unsuccessfully. No boyfriend or fling at the time.
So she requested a change of password, got the email as the confirmation, logged in on her spare phone Hyunjin doesn’t know about and then deleted both emails as evidence of what had happened.
Hyunjin mostly uses it to post her art and her beautiful self, so it’s not of much use, but it is something. If she’s texting some other friend about feeling down, Seungmin can randomly send her something to cheer her up. If a suspiciously handsome man who stands out from the bunch and looks like he might get a chance texts her, Seungmin deletes him. Maybe even blocks him for good measure. Hyunjin’s block list is so long she doesn’t notice.
She wishes she had more insight in her communication. She’s dying to know what texts between her and Jisung look like.
//
“Hi, Hyunjin-ah.” Seungmin picks up on the second ring.
“I have such good news!” she says and Seungmin smiles for a second, before her stomach drops. If Jisung proposed to her, Seungmin will have to kill him with her bare hands, actually.
“Tell me.”
“So, Jisungie has these friends, they’re a couple, they’re pretty rich and fancy. They own a gallery and I was whining about my rent, stressing and stuff and he talked to them and guess what? They want to display some of my work. They wanna hang my paintings. My stuff! In their gallery. And like, announce it and shit, they have rich friends who collect, they’ll all be coming. Can you believe it? People will come to look at things I made. And, I might even sell some, which means I can make rent.”
Seungmin’s eye twitches. She bites the inside of her cheek so none of her frustration bleeds through the line and rains on Hyunjin’s parade. You don’t need help with rent. I already gave you the money. I took care of it. Jisung doesn’t need to swoop in with his ideas and solutions. And it’s not even him helping, it’s his friends!
Seungmin might have to kill him either way.
“That’s amazing! What the hell? That’s so cool. My baby, I told you it would happen one day. You deserve this so much.”
“I think I’m gonna have a heart attack, I have to choose which paintings go. I’m looking at them and they all don’t look good enough all of a sudden. But I wanted to tell you about this, I’m so excited.”
“You’re more than talented and your paintings are amazing. I promise you. People will be lucky to see them, let alone buy them. I’m so proud of you, Hyunjin-ah.”
“Thank you. Ahhhh, this is crazy. Thank you. I have to go now, but I just wanted to let you know. I’ll text you the details when I know more.”
“Yeah, of course, go. Go, breathe. You’ll find some you like and I can help. They’re all so wonderful.”
When they end the call, Seungmin grabs her pillow and screams into it.
//
“So yeah, it’s just—I dunno. He’s not good for her. Or good enough for her, I guess. And I still don’t buy that shit about meeting her on accident a week after he saw her for the first time. Fuck that. He’s so annoying. And he chews really loudly. No manners.”
“Wow, tell me how you really feel.”
“He’s also short.”
“Hey!”
Seungmin rolls her eyes. “Oppa, you know what I mean. You’re the good kind of short. Hot. You walk like you’re 2 meters tall. You carry that shit. He’s just short. Hyunjin needs someone who reaches past her hips.”
In many ways, Chan is someone who understands Seungmin the best. They have things they know about each other, things they don’t talk about. Things Seungmin wouldn’t trust anyone else with. They’re more similar than one might think at first glance.
“Thanks, Seungmin-ah. Really.” He gives her a deadpan stare, but Seungmin knows him well enough to know he’s not actually offended.
“This isn’t about you! If he was just short and nothing else, I wouldn’t care. But he sucks on every other level. He gets on my nerves.”
“I mean… he got her a gallery exhibition. Doesn’t that count for something?”
Seungmin shoots him a death stare. “You are not helping me today. I’ll need you to abandon your optimism and altruism and get on the hate Jisung train with me. The guy stalked her, I’m sure of it!”
Chan blinks with a nod. Good. He needs to grasp the seriousness of the situation. Seungmin is slowly losing her patience. “Do you have any proof?”
Seungmin blinks back. “As of right now, no. But I’m positive I could find some if I look hard enough.”
“Okay. Well, if you really wanna go there… You could set up a camera at Hyunjin’s apartment. See if he visits when she’s not around. Maybe you could find something there.”
Seungmin looks at him. Her mouth goes a little dry.
“Oppa. If I go into Felix’s room, will I find a hidden camera there?”
Chan spends a long time looking at her without saying a word. Long enough for Seungmin to know the answer to her question.
“Don’t be silly. Let me order you another coffee.”
Chan is not a stalker, like Jisung. Just like how Seungmin isn’t one either. They’re just two people who really liked someone in college and befriended them. Love at first sight exists. If there is a man who is to be… intense about Felix, there is no better man than Chan. He’d never do her any harm. He looks out for her. Takes care of her. Seungmin is happy she has someone like that in her life. She deserves it.
Chan comes back with another coffee and a raspberry tart for Seungmin. “I remember you liked these way back.”
“Thank you, oppa.” She smiles at him and takes a bite. It melts on her tongue.
“So. I might know a guy.”
//
With Chan’s guy, setting up the camera at Hyunjin’s place is easy. She knows when she’s working and she has a spare key for emergencies. He doesn’t ask why she’s doing this or whose apartment they’re at. Just finds the best place to set it up so it’s not visible. Seungmin should buy Chan dinner soon. He’s so considerate.
Once they’re done, he installs the program on Seungmin’s laptop which allows her to have access to live footage and shows her where to find older videos as well, if needed. Seungmin thanks him profusely and stays at the apartment after he leaves.
She looks at the giant teddy bear she gifted Hyunjin for her birthday a few years ago. The framed photograph of the two of them at graduation. Hyunjin took Seungmin’s glasses for it. Her hair was shorter.
Her walls are filled with drawings and poems and her shelves with books. Her space is so lived in, so warm. Full of memories and creations and personality. Hyunjin can be sensed in every breath someone takes while here. Seungmin’s apartment is much less cluttered. She keeps it pretty minimal. Definitely less soul than this.
Seungmin loves her so much. And she will free her from Jisung, one way or another.
//
The gallery is lovely, Seungmin will give them that. Though, if she’s being honest, what makes it so amazing are Hyunjin’s works decorating the walls. Still, Seungmin will give credit where credit is due. It was very kind of Jisung’s friends to do this.
His friends are a boujee couple – Minho and Changbin. They’re painfully handsome and dressed to the nines, making Hyunjin so nervous that she chugs champagne she doesn’t even like that much. Jisung’s hand is on her waist. Seungmin reaches for the champagne too.
Minho and Changbin have some equally boujee friends which means there is a good chance someone will buy some paintings tonight. Which would be a good thing if not for the fact that Seungmin already took care of this problem. She already gave her the money, there was no need for all this. She would feel like she’s in some sort of dick measuring contest with Jisung, if not for the fact that he could never be close to her in any way.
Jisung is a nobody. He is a guy with a degree he doesn’t use and he works in a bookstore. Even this – this isn’t his own effort. He wants to help Hyunjin but he has no way of doing it on his own so he has to pull strings with wealthy, influential friends. If those two are his friends at all. Maybe Jisung is a full on criminal. Maybe he has some leverage on them. Seungmin wouldn’t be surprised. She doesn’t care. All she wants is her best friend safe and sound, away from him.
Chan arrives a little late. He is also dressed to the nines, because he’s a good friend and loves special events. Hyunjin untangles herself from Jisung’s hold to greet him and Seungmin hides her smile behind her glass. Chan kisses her cheek, hugs her tight with both arms around the middle. Seungmin watches Jisung try to keep a neutral face.
“Oppa! Thank you so much for coming.”
“Are you kidding?” Chan smiles when they separate. “I wouldn’t miss it for anything. I’m so proud of you.”
They all exchange greetings and Jisung bows, extending his hand. “It’s nice to meet you.”
Chan nods and shoots a quick glance to Seungmin. “You must be Jisung, right? I heard so many things about you.”
“All good, I hope.”
“Well, they were from Seungminnie.” Chan shrugs, but since it’s him, he manages to make the jab sound charming and funny instead of mean spirited. Jisung does shut up after that.
They stay close for most of the night. Hyunjin has a white dress on. Her hair is up in a bun, two strands framing her pretty face perfectly. She’s painfully beautiful. Seungmin wishes she could hold her hand.
She disappears to the bathroom and spends way too much time staring at her own reflection, willing her heart to calm down. So much that Hyunjin finds her, a smile on her face.
“Seungminnie. Are you okay?”
Seungmin wonders what would happen if she kissed her right now. “Yeah. Yeah, baby, of course. Are you having fun?”
She comes closer, stealing Seungmin’s breath away. She leans in, as if she’s about to tell her a secret. “I am making so much money.” Hyunjin giggles, her breath smelling of alcohol. “This is insane. I feel like this is a dream. These people don’t care, I thought I overpriced my stuff, but they don’t care!”
Seungmin tucks a stray hair behind her ear. “You couldn’t overprice your paintings if you tried. You’re marvelous.”
Hyunjin looks like she could cry at any second. Her bottom lip wobbles but she gathers herself and shakes her head. She reaches inside her bag and retrieves… a check. The check Seungmin signed for her. Great.
“It means I won’t be needing this. But thank you so much. It was so lovely of you to offer.”
Seungmin takes it and tries not to sound disappointed. “Of course. You know I’m always here. Whatever you need.”
Hyunjin hugs her. They’re the same height but she’s wearing heels tonight so Seungmin buries her face above her collarbone and shamelessly inhales her perfume and sweat.
She hopes that camera gives her something.
//
The camera gives her… a lot. Just not what she’s looking for specifically.
She cozies up on her couch and rewinds the footage. Hyunjin lives in a studio apartment – kitchen, bedroom and living room practically the same thing. The camera is set up to have a perfect view of her couch and the bed right behind it.
Lots of Hyunjin cooking – if store bought ramen can be called that. She’s always been a picky eater. When they were roommates in college for a while, Seungmin was able to get her on a better diet. Jisung clearly doesn’t care about her that much. Still, it’s cute to watch her bring the package or a bowl to her couch to eat, folding her long – mostly naked – legs so she can watch something on her laptop.
Hyunjin trying on clothes. Hyunjin walking around naked. Completely naked. Looking at herself in her mirror, naked. Seungmin maybe rewinds that part a few times. Hyunjin doing pilates on the floor, stretching like a cat. Hyunjin painting. Writing. Crying. Living a life.
And then there’s Jisung. Like an annoying little fly on a white wall, tainting her view of the beauty. Seungmin almost forgot she installed this camera for him. Seeing him just through the screen makes her annoyed.
Her eyes burn as she goes through the footage, neck bent at an uncomfortable angle. Hyunjin and Jisung on the couch. Her legs in his lap. His hands on her thighs. Going higher. To her waist, under her shirt. Hyunjin rolling her head back, smiling. Enjoying herself. Seungmin pops her knuckles.
They end up fucking. Of course they do. Seungmin wants to look away, but it’s like a car crash, she can’t. Jisung teases her until she straddles his lap. He makes her ride him. Seungmin would never do that to her. She’s the type to be doted on, kissed all over, every inch of her long body. Slowly. Not a quick fuck on the couch.
His hands grab her hips as she rolls them on top of him. It’s probably a good thing Seungmin can’t see more than her naked back. She’d lose her mind. Hyunjin bounces, way more core strength than Seungmin would assume. Jisung cums first. Pathetic. He finishes her off with his hand. Even worse.
When that horror is over, Seungmin speeds up through the rest of the footage. She’s slowly losing hope, until she sees a figure entering the apartment, comical in the double speed. She slows down and her heart skips a beat. It’s Jisung. Without Hyunjin. This is it.
It feels so good to be right. She knew it, deep in her bones, all along. She’s hated Hyunjin’s boyfriends before, but this was different. Jisung’s energy was too off putting. God bless Chan and his brilliant ideas. She watches him carefully, voyeur of a voyeur. He looks around, as if he’s expecting Hyunjin to pop out of somewhere. Seungmin wonders how did he get a copy of her key. There is no way Hyunjin gave it to him already. Way too soon.
He pulls a book out of his bag and places it on the shelf. Is it a camera of his own? No, it doesn’t make sense, not in a book. Is it a book he stole from her and is now returning? Is that how he knows everything she talks about? He’s been here by himself before. Seungmin feels sick to her stomach that someone would violate Hyunjin’s privacy like this.
He sits on the bed and slides his palm over the pillow. Brings it to his face to inhale. Seungmin is going to throw up. She watches as he returns it, smooths out the pillowcase and disappears into the bathroom. He stays there for an uncomfortable amount of time and when he resurfaces into the view, he has a pair of panties pressed to his nose, eyes closed. Okay, she’s going to throw up now.
He doesn’t stay long after that, looking around like a wistful friend, taking it in. Seungmin closes her laptop when he leaves. What else has he stolen? What is he hiding, how deep has he hurt Hyunjin’s trust already without her knowing? Seungmin didn’t expect this.
She has to go to Jisung’s apartment. Fuck.
//
Seungmin’s never picked a lock. She wasn’t even allowed to roll on the ground with other kids when they played outside growing up, of course she can’t pick a lock. So that’s out of the question. Maybe killing Jisung would be a better option?
No, she can’t martyr him. Hyunjin would be devastated. She’d wallow in grief and remember him as a lovely man, which he is not. No, Seungmin needs her to know. She needs her to turn to her for comfort. Seungmin can’t help with a dead boyfriend, there is no fixating that. But a creepy one, she can work with.
No, she needs a better plan than that.
//
Okay, so it might not be the best plan. It’s okay. She has an excuse if they find her. Oh, what is she doing in Hyunjin’s apartment? She came to surprise her, see, she wasn’t feeling so well and she thought a girls night would cheer her up. They used to do these all the time before, it was so silly of her not to consider Hyunjin might be spending time with Jisung, she’s so sorry. Why is she hiding under the bed? Because they walked in and jumped each other from the door, she felt too awkward to interrupt so she just acted on instinct and hid. She is truly so, so sorry.
In reality, she is sorry, but for herself. The bed keeps creaking and she’s grateful she outgrew asthma as a teenager because dust particles are getting all over her hair. Jisung has his dick in her because apparently that is the only way he knows how to have sex. Hyunjin, bless her heart, is very vocally encouraging. She must be faking it to boost his ego. His cock must be small so she has to do something.
“Ah, so deep, fuck—“
He is not so deep. Seungmin is willing to bet her right arm Jisung can’t reach enough to have Hyunjin moaning this sensually. Still, her stomach flips a little because she sounds good. If she ignores the part where she’s currently under the bed and not on it with Hyunjin, she can almost imagine she’s the one pulling these sounds out of her.
That is, of course, until his agitating voice breaks the fantasy. “Baby… Baby, feels so good, oh my god.”
That she can believe. Hyunjin must feel good. Seungmin can’t believe this excuse of a man who looks like he had an emo phase that lasted a little too long and probably got into music because he had no shot at any real education is having a chance with Hyunjin. In what universe does this make sense?
Hyunjin gasps and the bed shakes more but none of that matters because the jostling of their bodies knocks off Jisung’s jeans on the floor. Finally. Seungmin takes advantage of the fact that they’re getting louder to crawl forward a little bit and drag them under the bed with her. She digs into his pockets and suppresses the urge to scream when she finds his keys.
Good. Now all she has to do is wait here as they fuck it out and fall asleep, preferably quickly and very tight, so she can sneak out and get to Jisung’s apartment. At least she knows for a fact that Jisung is staying over thanks to Hyunjin’s messages with Felix on Instagram. It’s why she picked tonight. She’s not religious, but she’s considering praying that she’ll find some real evidence.
She tunes out his begging for her to cum, which is pathetic. Hyunjin does have an orgasm (or fakes one, jury is still out on that one) and Seungmin bites her fist. Jisung has one too because the universe hates Seungmin. If it were up to her, he’d grovel at her feet and his less than an average penis would be locked in a cage, causing him only pain and no pleasure. Although, with how much of a pervert he is, Seungmin wouldn’t be surprised if he actually liked that.
Imaginary god or the universe must take pity on her, because they decide to take a shower together. Seungmin hates the thought of Hyunjin sharing such an intimate moment with him, but it does give her the chance to get out. You win some, you lose some.
//
Seungmin puts on her gloves and gets in the apartment, locking the door behind herself. Jisung’s apartment is messy, but she didn’t expect anything less. No wonder they hang out at Hyunjin’s place more. Even though she’s not the epitome of organized, it’s different when it’s here. This is just… nasty.
Whatever. If she were a stalker, were would she hide her trophies?
She checks under the bed. Nothing. His nightstand. His closet, including the three drawers at the back. No luck. His entire kitchen. The bathroom is her last hope. There has to be something in there.
Jisung’s bathroom is not a disaster. Color Seungmin surprised. He doesn’t even use 3 in 1 shampoo. Who would have thought? He does have a pretty big cabinet under the sink. Seungmin swallows and opens it, squatting on the tiles. Cleaning supplies. More hygiene products. An unopened perfume, one that makes Seungmin’s nose scrunch. She digs through all of it, careful to remember where it was, before she finds a box.
It’s a safe. With a combination. Come on.
Seungmin sighs. It won’t be Hyunjin’s birthday, she’s not that lucky. Not his own either, he’s not that stupid. He’s an only child. No siblings. Could it be one of his parents’ birthdays?
She sighs and gets her phone. He has a Facebook account he hasn’t used in years. Not much useful information there, sadly. But he is friends with his mom, Seungmin remembers that much. She finds her and scrolls through countless pictures of dogs and baby Jisung and motivational quotes. Who doesn’t just set up their date of birth on their Facebook profile? Fucking boomers.
But then, she gets to the part where people are congratulating her on the wall, publically. Her heart skips a beat. She will never say another bad thing about Mark Zuckerberg. Second of July.
She sets her phone on the floor and tries 0207. Negative beeping sound and a red light. Fuck. Okay. 0702. Seungmin audibly gasps when the light turns green. Of course he’s a mama’s boy. And he thinks he’s smart, on top of that.
Slowly, she opens the box and takes a deep breath, prepared to be freaked out.
Carefully, she examines each thing inside. Hyunjin’s sunflower earrings she complained about losing not long ago. A tube of her lip gloss, half used. A pair of pink panties, clean. Two of her colorful bracelets she hasn’t worn in over 2 years. An old sketchbook, filled out. Something she wouldn’t notice missing.
And worst of all: a simple picture of Hyunjin. In her bathing suit, on the beach, sea in the background and her pretty face turned over her shoulder to the camera, smiling. Her tan skin, sand in her hair and eyes closed because of the sun.
On the back side: Seungminnie, 27.08.’17. in Hyunjin’s neat handwriting, black pen.
Seungmin remembers taking this photo like it was yesterday. They ate ice cream afterwards and Hyunjin licked Seungmin’s scone because she’s never tried cherry and yogurt before. Something she wouldn’t forgive anyone else, but she didn’t mind licking the same place as Hyunjin. She blushed and blamed it on the sun burn. Hyunjin let her apply sunscreen all over her shoulders and back, after Seungmin insisted not getting skin cancer is higher on the list of priorities than ‘the annoying greasy feeling’.
She wants to take the photo back. Leave everything else, but take the photo, take her Hyunjin back with her. She’s never hated anyone more. But if she does this, she might give it away, incriminate herself. And she can’t allow that. She must put her feelings aside for the greater good. This will all be over soon anyway. The thought of Jisung looking at this Hyunjin, Hyunjin he didn’t even get to know personally, makes her stomach twist with rage.
She gets everything out on the floor and takes pictures with as much detail as possible. Then another one of the safe, both open and close. Of the cabinet, where it’s hidden. Slowly, she picks herself up and leaves. She places the key under the welcome mat, hoping it’s something Jisung sometimes does and he’ll believe he just forgot about it.
She goes home.
//
There’s not much to do around Seungmin’s apartment as she waits. She has a cleaning schedule and it never gets cluttered or messy enough for her to have some cleaning up to do on days she has time. She irons her sheets, goes over all the counters once again because you can never be too careful with dust and even straightens out the fringe strings on the carpet in her living room.
She keeps pacing around nervously, but at least she has her watch on and it will count for her daily steps.
Then, her doorbell rings. Seungmin considers keeping her gun closer to the door in moments like these, in the event that it’s somehow Jisung and not Hyunjin. But she sees her beautiful hair through the peephole and takes a deep breath before letting her in. She wills her brain to act normal.
“Hyunjinnie? Did we have plans today?”
Hyunjin locks the door behind herself. She looks like she’s seen a ghost. Face pale and lips bitten red, almost bloody. She takes off her shoes and grabs Seungmin’s wrist, taking her to her bedroom and closing that door too.
“Baby? Are you okay?”
“No.” she says quickly when they sit on the bed. “No, you need to see this. I, um— this was delivered to my place.”
She gets the yellow envelope out of her tote bag that Seungmin carefully prepared for her. Her heart is beating so quickly she’s worried Hyunjin will hear it and figure her out.
“What is this?”
“Just open.”
Inside are all the photos she took, along with a typed out letter. Seungmin’s eyes widen and she looks back at Hyunjin in fake surprise. She just shakes her head and gestures to the letter, getting her legs on Seungmin’s freshly ironed sheets and hugging her knees.
She doesn’t need to read it, she went over 7 different versions until she settled on this one. Still, to be believable, she takes her time, eyes going over the paper.
Hyunjin, your boyfriend is not who he says he is. He has repeatedly violated your trust, your privacy and your space. He has stolen from you. He has taken your most intimate things out of your apartment and hid them in his own. You have all the proof in the photos. I would strongly recommend not going to him about this. Jisung is a highly dangerous person. I have a lot of reasons to believe your second meeting wasn’t a coincidence and he somehow tracked you down after your first meeting and stalked you. He’s good at that. However, I have no solid proof of it, only speculation. There is no telling if he has done more and worse, if he has a GPS tracker on any of your advices, or passwords to any of your accounts. My advice would be going to the police, or to a trusted person, if you have a support system. Jisung has done this before. He’s done it to me. I promised myself I wouldn’t let him get away with it again, but I also know how difficult it is when someone comes to you with information about your boyfriend without proof. God knows I didn’t believe it at first. Don’t let what happened to me happen to you. Get out while you can and report him. Don’t repeat my mistakes. Take care of yourself, Hyunjin.
She bounced around a few endings. One of them was signing it off as a private investigator that someone hired, but that was too close to home. Hyunjin would know it’s Seungmin immediately. This made the most sense – it was personal, believable. Ex-girlfriend wronged, seeking justice, protecting someone else. Hyunjin was least likely to wonder about the identity of someone who was in the same position as her once and clearly didn’t want to be found.
When Seungmin finishes reading, Hyunjin’s eyes are full of tears. She has rehearsed many reactions for this moment. She knew Hyunjin wasn’t going to the police alone. There is no way. She’s too fragile for that. Too scared. She’s Seungmin’s girl and no amount of Jisung can change that. Seungmin has always been her person. She knew Hyunjin would come to her.
Still, as she’s supposed to form a coherent sentence, her throat closes up. There is no telling what Hyunjin might do if she realizes.
“What the fuck?” is what she settles on, eloquently. She looks through the photos again, mouth hanging open. “Hyunjin-ah, who gave this to you? How did it arrive?”
“It was in front of my door, addressed to me. I, uh. There is more.”
More? There isn’t more. This was everything, what does she mean more?
“More?”
“I went a little crazy when I saw all of this. The photos and the… yeah. Flipped my apartment upside down, honestly.” Oh shit. Seungmin’s heart drops to her stomach. “I wanted to see if it was really true, you know? Didn’t wanna believe it, honestly. I have a jewelry box on top of my shelf. My earrings are really gone. But I found a camera.”
Hyunjin’s voice shakes at the end and the unshed tears finally spill down her cheeks. It’s okay, Seungmin doesn’t have to panic. There is no way to connect it to her, until it’s in police custody and they can get prints. Hyunjin is with her now, she has full control of the situation.
“A camera?” she gasps, reaching for Hyunjin’s hand to comfort her.
“I’ve never been more scared in my life. I can’t believe he’d do all this. He’s been—watching me and he has my-my panties, what the actual fuck, I just can’t—“
She breaks down, sobbing. Seungmin wraps her in a tight hug, shushing her. Her hair smells so nice.
“I just left it there, I didn’t know if it’s live footage or what, if he’s watching right now, even though he’s at work right now. Or maybe he’s not, maybe he doesn’t even work there, maybe he just stalks and kills people for a living, I don’t even know, but I just—I got so scared and just grabbed this and came here. Left my phone at home, I wasn’t gonna text you, if—if what she said in the letter is true. Maybe he’s tracking me.”
Her sweet girl. Seungmin strokes her hair. The only person that would know about Hyunjin’s whereabouts would be Seungmin. This is good, so the camera is still at her apartment. She can get rid of it. Maybe she can convince Hyunjin she was seeing things? Yeah, that makes sense. She was so terrified, her mind was making up even more horrible shit. But when the police searched her apartment, they didn’t find any cameras, sweetheart. That should work.
“It’s okay. It’s okay.” Seungmin kisses her head. “I’ll take care of it. We’ll get the camera. Even if he figures it out and gets rid of it, there is more than enough here to build a case, honey. Hyunjin. Hyunjin-ah, listen to me.” She grabs her cheeks, wiping away tears. Hyunjin looks at her, trembling. She’s never been more beautiful. “You’re okay. You’re safe. Do you think I will let anything happen to you?”
“He knows where you live.” Hyunjin whispers. “What if he comes here?”
“Then I’ll kill him.”
Hyunjin laughs wetly. Seungmin is not joking, but she laughs too.
“Honey. I’m not letting him get to you, okay? If you feel unsafe here, we’ll go somewhere else. We can escape for a bit, take a breath. I’ll take care of you. Mom has an apartment she rents downtown. Jisung doesn’t know about that. I’ll take you there.”
Hyunjin sobs and buries her snotty face in Seungmin’s neck. Seungmin just keeps stroking her back, rocking her soothingly from side to side.
//
As Hyunjin presents each of her worries, Seungmin is delighted she has a solution for all of it. She will text Felix and Jeongin, Jisung will not harm them, that would be stupid, he’s not reckless, he’s clearly calculated. She will call Hyunjin’s work and let them know she’s not coming tomorrow. Or the day after tomorrow. Maybe she’ll just tell them Hyunjin quit, she’ll see. She doesn’t say this part out loud. What if the police can’t build a case? Then they’ll call Chan oppa, he knows powerful people. Seungmin knows people as well.
She will borrow Hyunjin clothes and she will take her there and she will just take care of everything. Hyunjin is in shock, it’s okay.
This is what Seungmin was put on Earth to do. Protect Hyunjin, remove any obstacles that come her way. Keep her locked up in a penthouse on 17th floor, away from Jisung, from the whole world. Like a princess. Hyunjin drowning in her comfy clothes, wearing even Seungmin’s underwear, her pajamas.
She’s skittish. They haven’t talked about what they’ll do regarding Jisung and when. That’s okay. It can wait. The most important thing is that she’s safe now and with Seungmin. Seungmin will give her as much time as she needs.
“I don’t ever want to leave this bed.”
These are the words Seungmin has dreamed of hearing ever since she’s known Hyunjin. Sure, the setting might not be ideal, but it counts. Hyunjin is trapped between Seungmin’s body and the wall.
“Then don’t.”
She scoffs. “If only.”
“We’ll figure it out.” Seungmin tells her. “Let me be your sugar mommy for real this time. You stay home and paint. Write. Read books. I’ll work and take care of you.”
Hyunjin might just be scared enough, because she doesn’t protest. Just laughs. “That would be lovely.” Her body curves closer to Seungmin’s own. “Could we also get a dog?”
“You have me, you want another dog?”
Hyunjin’s entire body twitches when someone rings the door. Seungmin strokes her hip. She’s like a spooked animal, brought in from the street.
“It’s just groceries, baby.”
“Don’t go.” She whines, wrapping a leg around Seungmin’s thighs.
Seungmin takes a deep, steadying breath. “Just for a second, yeah?”
Hyunjin thinks about it. “Okay, but then don’t put them away. Just put them on the counter and get back here.”
“And let the milk go bad?”
“Yes.”
Seungmin laughs and kisses her forehead. When she stands up, she’s wet.
//
Seungmin has yearned for her first kiss with Hyunjin her whole adult life. Ever since she first saw her, she was drawn to her lips. But it wasn’t just the kiss itself that occupied Seungmin’s mind. It was the lead up to it. The how of it all. When and where.
Hyunjin is the biggest romantic Seungmin has ever known. Naturally, she always imagined doing something grand for her when the time comes. When Hyunjin finally sees that what she’s been looking for has been right by her side for a decade now. She’d plan a perfect date, wait for the perfect moment and deliver the perfect kiss. Hyunjin deserved nothing less.
She didn’t expect it would go down like this.
They’re wrapped up in the bed, still ignoring all outside world. There could be any level of threat or emergency happening on a national scale and Seungmin wouldn’t know about it. Nor would she care. She has everything she needs right here and she texted her mother that they’re staying at the apartment because Hyunjin is going through a bad breakup. Not entirely a lie.
Hyunjin is still clinging to her, whining when Seungmin has to get up. Despite having plenty of room, they share a bed. They used to do it in college from time to time, but not that often. Both of them like their personal space a lot.
Still, recent events seem to have Hyunjin shaken up quite a bit and Seungmin’s more than happy to be there for her.
“You’ve always been there for me.” Hyunjin says, curled up under Seungmin’s chin, long limbs all bent out of shape to fit into her arms. “Always take care of me. What would I do without you?”
Seungmin smiles, playing with her hair. “You don’t have to think about that. You’ll never be without me, Hyunjinnie.”
Hyunjin wiggles so they’re face to face, eyes big and trusting. “You promise?”
There would have to be a force stronger than life to pull Seungmin away from Hyunjin. “I promise. I’m never leaving you.”
“Never?”
“Never ever.”
Hyunjin looks at her for so long that Seungmin can feel her cheeks actively heating up. She’s always had an intense stare, but like this – scared and in Seungmin’s bed, saved by her… It’s too much. Seungmin swallows, trying to keep her eyes on Hyunjin’s own, on her pretty nose, anywhere but her lips. She can feel her breath on her face.
Hyunjin kisses her. Seungmin sees it happen in slow motion. She closes her eyes, eyelashes fluttering against her skin and moves closer, barely has to, connects their lips. Seungmin is left too stunned to move or even close her eyes to enjoy it. Almost like in high school, when a boy kissed her and apparently she was supposed to understand it was moving in that direction. Except it wasn’t and he was supposed to be her friend and Seungmin never liked boys. And she did not enjoy that kiss.
This is different. This is Hyunjin. Her Hyunjin. Her girl. If Seungmin is too slow to react or if she says anything, she will get spooked and run away into a hole and Seungmin can’t have that. She can’t miss the opportunity she’s been waiting for forever. Even if it’s not after a perfect date she planned for them. It’s still perfect, because it’s Hyunjin.
So she kisses back. She doesn’t have to think about it, because they’re meant to be, they always have been. It just took Hyunjin a little time to see, but Seungmin’s always been patient. She doesn’t mind. Her hand comes to hold her by the nape and Hyunjin lets her lick into her mouth, responsive and eager already. She’s so sweet. Sweeter than Seungmin could ever dreamed of.
Hyunjin’s hands find place on her neck, holding on, gentle and soft. Seungmin kisses her and Hyunjin kisses back, but mostly she lets herself be kissed. Lets Seungmin take the lead. They keep going until Seungmin’s lungs are burning and she has to pull back for a second. But she doesn’t let it last, too hungry, too curious to find out what the behind of Hyunjin’s teeth tastes like, what’s the texture of every spot inside her mouth. Seungmin wants to know her inside out. Not a place untouched, unkissed.
Hyunjin likes it. Of course she does. She takes it when the intensity turns up and sighs through her nose, throat vibrating with small sounds and mouth open nicely for Seungmin. She shifts her hips and then there is a frustrated whine shared between them before she takes matters into her own hands, literally. She grabs Seungmin’s thigh and fits it between her legs, slowly grinding forward.
Seungmin is going to eat her alive.
She tangles her fingers in Hyunjin’s hair and groans, biting her plush lip. She whines for her again. What a lovely sound. Seungmin’s gonna commit it to memory. It will never leave her.
Hyunjin moves her head to the side and kisses Seungmin’s wrist, her palm. Keeps going until she reaches her fingers. Then she looks at her, sensual and no doubt practiced, lips wrapping around two. Seungmin’s breath leaves her. Hyunjin sucks, takes them in to the knuckles. Her tongue dances between them. Seungmin presses on it, sees how far she can go, teases her throat. Hyunjin just takes it.
Her legs squeeze Seungmin’s own, she rolls her hips harder. Seungmin flexes her thigh and Hyunjin shudders, eyes closing and teeth accidentally clamping down around Seungmin’s fingers. She lets up immediately, soothing gently with her lips. Seungmin would let her bite all over her body. She’d wear her marks if Hyunjin wanted.
So she keeps pressing against her crotch, keeps fucking her mouth with her fingers. It’s a sight to behold. Renaissance paintings haven’t looked like this. There is no art in the world, no nature’s wonder to compare to Hyunjin on any day, but when she’s feeling good? Her eyes glossing over, all of her walls down, holding Seungmin’s wrist so tightly like she’ll go anywhere. It’s insane. It’s out of a dream.
She gets her free hand under the shirt Hyunjin’s wearing – Seungmin’s sleep shirt she brought for her, loose and worn out. Hyunjin gasps when her palm spreads over her ribcage and holds her breath as it travels up, until Seungmin can cup one of her tits. She’s always had beautiful breasts – not too big, letting her wear dresses with really low cuts in the middle because they never formed much of a cleavage. Seungmin’s been obsessed with them since Hyunjin changed in front of her for the first time.
Now she gets to play with her. She squeezes, gentle, slow. Feeling her up. Hyunjin’s hips kick forward. Seungmin presses on her tongue and grazes a thumb over her nipple. It makes her gag a little, but she doesn’t let up, doesn’t seem like she wants anything that’s happening to stop. Her nipple hardens under Seungmin’s fingers, perky and attention seeking. If Seungmin wasn’t so entranced by Hyunjin’s face, she’d look down to see if the other one can be seen through the shirt.
She rolls her fingers over it, pinching slightly. More gasps, more grinding on her thigh. She’s incredible. Seungmin needs her so bad she’s getting dizzy with it. She pinches harder and Hyunjin moans, eyes rolling back, mouth hanging open uselessly. Seungmin takes her fingers out and smears her saliva down Hyunjin’s pretty lips, her chin. She gets that hand under the shirt too, lets the wetness shock her body when she touches her other nipple. Hyunjin rolls on her back and her body jerks away, then closer, asking for more.
“You’re so pretty.” Seungmin tells her, looking down at her. Her hair spilling over the pillow messily, her lips a little swollen and adorably pink. Her face flushed. “Pretty Hyunjinnie. You’re the most beautiful person in the world.”
Too much, perhaps. Hyunjin’s always had a… complicated relationship with her beauty. With her body, her face. Once, she shaved her hair and had a breakdown over it and all Seungmin could think was that she was equally beautiful. She hopes Hyunjin knows she sees her as more than just her appearance. Hyunjin’s heart is beautiful too. The most fragile thing. Seungmin intends to keep it safe in her hands.
She kisses her to swallow all of her small sounds. And she does make pretty sounds when Seungmin presses her thigh against her clothed cunt and rolls her nipples between her fingers. Hyunjin holds onto her shoulders, crumbles her own sleep shirt.
“I’m making such a mess in your underwear.” She confesses, trying to buck her hips, get more friction. Seungmin is seeing stars. She shouldn’t be allowed to speak. She’ll give Seungmin a heart attack.
“Yeah?” she noses along Hyunjin’s throat. “Let me check.”
She slides a hand down her stomach, smiles when it sucks in, like it’s running away from her. First thing she feels is Hyunjin’s pubic hair, making her groan. Lower, until she can feel how it sticks with her wetness, lower still, until she can graze her fingertip over Hyunjin’s hole.
Hyunjin gasps, spreading her legs as much as she can. Seungmin holds herself up with a hand next to her head, sad to leave her tits alone, but she will lose balance otherwise. She will lose her mind. She doesn’t push in, just strokes Hyunjin’s pussy lips, taps lightly, barely there. Hyunjin squirms, she tries to take her in, get her to move.
“Seungminnie.” She whines, sticky sweet and hitting Seungmin in her solar plexus.
“Hm?” she smiles down at her.
“Come on.” When she sees that will not work, she huffs and gives her a heartbreaking look. “Please?”
Seungmin caves, because she always has, always will. No one could bring her down to her knees like Hyunjin. “You’re so cute.”
She doesn’t have a chance to reply, her words get lost on a breathy exhale when Seungmin finally sinks a finger into her. She’s hot inside, even wetter, tight. Her muscles clench before she relaxes and lets Seungmin into her body, lets her fuck one finger all the way in.
“God, I can’t believe I don’t have my strap here.” She groans when she curls it.
“Oh god.” Hyunjin whines, hands still on Seungmin’s shoulders for support. “Is it big?”
There is a teasing glint in her eyes, a smirk on her handsome face. Seungmin wants to make her cry. She wants to make her lose her mind, shake on the bed until she sweats through the mattress. Until she pisses herself and barely even notices because of how good she feels. No one will compare, she will think she didn’t know pleasure before having Seungmin.
“I have a few. Can work you up, size by size.”
Hyunjin moans at that. Seungmin drags her finger up until she finds her clit, rubbing slowly, testing out the feeling. It has her shaking underneath her, painfully sensitive. She gets even wetter. Two fingers inside her and Seungmin spreads them, stretches her a little. She could spend the day doing just this. She could die happy here.
“Please.” Hyunjin gasps.
“Please what?”
“What you—what you said. Work me up for—for it, make me take it, ah. I’ll take it.” She rolls her hips, fucks herself on Seungmin’s fingers. Her voice is so breathy. “Your hand, I could… I could take your whole hand.”
It makes Seungmin see white. The confession is whispered, shy. Seungmin’s pretty sure she’s never done that with anyone, she feels like she’d know if Hyunjin got up to something like that. Too much information doesn’t exist to her, much to Seungmin’s pleasure and pain.
“Not today.” She tells her, kissing her forehead. “But yeah. We can do that. I know you can take it. You’re so good.”
She keeps thrusting her fingers in and out, thumb on her clit. Hyunjin trembles and moans, head thrown back, revealing her long neck. Her throat. Seungmin sucks there, takes skin between teeth and leaves her mark. Kisses over it when she’s done, then does it again, lower. Lets her tongue wander to Hyunjin’s earlobe, touch light and no doubt ticklish.
“Close.” Hyunjin gasps. Seungmin’s hair falls over her face but she doesn’t seem to notice or care. “Close, please—can I? Can I cum, Seungminnie, can I, please?”
“Fuck.” Seungmin feels like she’s run a marathon. “Yeah, come on. Come on, let me feel you.”
She strokes her, fucks her fingers as deep as they’ll go and leaves kisses all over her collarbones. Hyunjin whines her way through it, adorable and too hot to handle. When she cums, it’s soundless, mouth wide open and eyes shut. Seungmin lets her ride it out, slowing down, whispering praise.
Her breathing slowly normalizes and she’s looking up at Seungmin. Pouting her lips for a kiss. Seungmin gives it to her, slowly getting her hand out. Her fingers stick together and she can’t help but take them in her mouth. The taste explodes on her tongue, a little salty, sharp. Dizzying. She groans and sucks her fingers clean. She can feel her pulse between her legs.
Hyunjin tugs on her pajamas. “You turn.”
Seungmin stops her gently with a hand on her wrist. “I’m not done yet. Can I taste you?” Hyunjin seems speechless at that, taken aback for some reason. Seungmin smiles at her. “You don’t have to do anything, just lie there for me and be pretty like that, okay? I have to taste you.”
She ties her hair up and gets Hyunjin naked from the waist down. Her legs are not shaved, just like her pussy. Seungmin places her foot on her shoulder and kisses her calf. She wants to consume her, feet to collarbones. She wants to leave a trail of her saliva all over her body. But she’ll have time for that. Hyunjin will let her do this again, she has no doubt. She’s too impatient now.
She kisses her way up to her knee, then her thigh. Hyunjin is fisting the sheets already. She lets Seungmin map out her body, lets her do whatever, mover her legs and spread them so she can see her pretty pussy better. Seungmin could get drunk on this, her scent, the taste of her skin. The feeling of Hyunjin’s toes curling on her back as she lowers herself on the bed properly and breathes over her cunt.
She spreads it open and holds Hyunjin’s thigh, digging her fingers into the flesh. She doesn’t waste time, Hyunjin doesn’t need it and Seungmin can’t deny herself any longer. She licks a long stripe all the way to her clit and delights in the way Hyunjin’s body reacts to it, the small whine leaving her mouth.
Seungmin dives in, letting the juices coat her tongue, get messy all over her lips and chin. She bumps her nose against Hyunjin’s clit and laughs when both of Hyunjin’s legs twitch. She sucks on it, groans against her when Hyunjin’s hands come to pull on her hair. Hyunjin holds her close, grinding against her face, using her. Seungmin wants her to do this forever. She’d let her hump any part of her body, make her roll through so many orgasms she passes out.
She’ll do it. She’ll fuck her on her cock, not make her do any of the work, bend her over and grip her hips. Pull her hair. Grope her tits and slap her cunt when she cums, sensitive and raw. She’ll get one of those ejaculating straps and watch as it flows out of her, puffy and sticky. She’ll fuck her ass. She’ll relax her enough for it, Hyunjin will finally have her fantasy come true, she can trust Seungmin with any part of her body.
“Baby.” Hyunjin whimpers and Seungmin’s ears are ringing.
She buries her tongue deep inside, enthusiastic and humming. This, she could definitely do for more than a day. She wants Hyunjin to sit on her face and suffocate her with her thighs. She can keep going if Seungmin loses air, it’s okay, as long as she feels good. As long as she gets to be the one who makes her feel good.
“Ah, thank you, thank you, feels so good, fuck, this is—this is insane, oh god, I’ve never—“
She keeps talking but Seungmin can’t hear anything. This is all she’s ever wanted to hear. No one’s ever made Hyunjin feel this good. No one ever will. Never again, she’ll never let anyone get close to her again, she can’t risk losing her. They can even stay here. They can have everything delivered and Seungmin will arrange to get all of Hyunjin’s stuff. They never have to leave.
“I wanna cum.” She gasps, chasing her pleasure. Seungmin’s jaw aches. She’s never been happier. “I wanna cum, make me cum, please make me cum, you’re so good, your tongue—Seungmin, Seungmin, baby, please—“
Seungmin rubs her clit through her orgasm, licking and sucking anywhere she can reach. Hyunjin’s legs clamp around her head, strong and shaking. Seungmin lets herself be trapped. Just as she calms down, body turning into jelly and slumping on the bed, Seungmin touches her again, making her yelp.
Hyunjin pulls on her hair, desperate. “I can’t, I can’t, ow, baby, I can’t—“
“You can.” Seungmin assures her, breathless and lightheaded. She finds Hyunjin’s hands and locks their fingers together. “You can, I promise, one more, just one more for me, come on, you’re such a good girl, come on Hyunjin-ah.”
She grazes her teeth over Hyunjin’s clit and sticks two fingers in her, pressing on her spot. Hyunjin screams, body thrashing, trying to get away and to take more at the same time. Seungmin gets her there again, quick and needy. She wants to push more, see how much before Hyunjin taps out, but this is enough for now. She doesn’t wanna overstep. She can get her there and more.
Hyunjin’s chest raises and falls as Seungmin climbs over her body. She wipes her mouth with the back of her hand and falls on top of her, burying her face in Hyunjin’s neck and inhaling her scent. Hyunjin regains feeling in her limbs and sighs, stretches like a cat and hugs her with both her arms and legs.
She noses along Seungmin’s cheek and finds her lips for a kiss. Seungmin wants to marry her. She’s thinking about what kind of ring would be worthy of her.
“Baby.” Hyunjin smiles and blinks slowly, before she manages to flip them around and straddle her lap. “Now it’s your turn.”
