Summary
Pearl woke up screaming.
Her chest was heaving with breaths too shallow and too quick to aid the burning in her lungs. The afterimage of that sick purple light was burned into retinas, of a mass of hands and arms rising out of the portal to grab. Grabbing her brother, dragging him into the depths of the void, never to be seen again. The only thing she could hear was his screams ringing in her ears as he was swallowed by the unending, suffocating darkness.
