We found out that Kageyama and Tsukishima were dating, during lunch on a random tuesday. We as in me, Yams, and Yachii. To say we were shocked was an understatement, who on earth would have thought the crazy duo that would kill each if they had a chance. Are dating?!! We didn't know that they even liked each other in the first place.
“WHAT?HOW?WHEN?”
Those are the questions that Yamaguchi desperately wanted answers to. He's been friends with Tsukishima for a long time and him not knowing the relationship between the two was bizarre itself.
“Me and Tsukishima are dating,” Kageyama said in a tone like it was basic knowledge like everyone was supposed to know.
“HOW?” yamaguchi blurted out once more
“Um… I like Kageyama and he likes me so….”
“WHEN?”
“Since last month”
“AND WE DIDN'T KNOW??” i shouted in disbelief, i get hiding the crush part but relationship?!!and for that long from your bestest of friends
“Im speechless” Yachi said quite literally speechless
Rolling his eyes annoyed tsukishima said “Get over it already”
“HOW CAN WE ??THE TWO THAT HATED EACH OTHER'S GUTS ARE NOW DATING”
“HINATA BOKE” Kageyama angrily furrowed his brows “stop being so loud will you”
My brain couldn't comprehend what was being informed right now. Well when does it ever, but still. How can loser kags be dating salty tsukishima. I didn't believe it, not even for a second. Not even when tsukishima bought kageyama a drink from the vending machine after lunch when we were heading to class without being asked. Not even when Kageyama softly smiled while thanking Tsukishima, and it wasnt that weird creepy smile he usually would do but a sincere, cute,and gummy smile. Not even when tsukishima called kageyama by his first name during practice.
He wanted to be happy for his friends but couldn't get himself to believe it, they fight like wild animals; not anymore they don't fight intensely anymore, more like bickering or teasing but still.
After practice the whole team decided to all walk home together, it was a bit chilly but with icy cold wind hitting them from every corner, which made it alot more cold. Our winter coats made it a little more bearable. Its a little dark outside the only light source coming from the little shops and the street lights.
Everyone was chatting with each other and goofing around, completely unaware of the two lingering behind them,except me obviously how can i ignore them when they were quietly chatting while kageyama’s hand was deep in tsukishima’s coat pocket along with tsukishima’s hand, as they talked. It seemed so natural for them like they do it all the time.
The way kageyama had to slightly look up at tsukishima from how close they were.
The way kageyama will lightly press the side of his cheek against tsukishima’s shoulder while continuing the conversation.
The way tsukishima’s eyes never looked away from kageyama like he was analyzing kageyama’s face or trying to remember every feature kageyama had. All while listening to kageyama yap away.
It was like they were in their own world.
“Are you okay hinata?” yamaguchi questioned concerned
“Yeah, sorry what were you saying?” I said quickly turning my head to face the greenette
“I was just saying how cute kageyama and tsukishima are together”
“They are… but…”
“But what?”
“I just can't believe it, how can two people who hate each other's guts be together?”
“Well.. i thought that too but when i saw how they looked at each other, how they bicker and how comfortable they are with each other i knew that they are meant for each other. It doesn't matter if we believe or understand them, it wouldn't change what they have”
“...you're right we might never understand but i think i believe it, i mean look at them” i said in a teasing tone
Yamaguchi silently giggled, turning his head to glance at the unaware couple. He quickly turned back still giggling with a hand covering his smile. He was so beautiful and was even more beautiful when he smiled. When is it gonna be our turn?
The team came to a halt in front of coach ukai’s store. Daichi treated the whole team to meat buns from coach ukai’s store to celebrate the upcoming match in tokyo soon. He asked kiyoko to help him carry out the meat buns along with tanaka and suga. The rest of the team waited outside the store still chatting in the chilly weather. The three came out with meatbuns and bags of drinks, shortly after they went in. They started passing them out.
“MEATBUNS” i beamed with excitement
“Here you go, Hinata, pass these ones to the rest of the first years,” Kiyoko said, handing me meat buns and a bag of drinks.
“Here you go yams” i said passing yamaguchi his meat buns and his favorite drink
“Thank you”
“Kageyama here's yours, pass this over to tsukishima too”
I handed the meat buns and two drinks to Kageyama, who detached himself from tsukishima, reaching out for the meat buns.
“Thanks,” he replied while handing Tsukishima his meat buns and drink.
Everyone enjoyed their snacks as they hung out outside of coach ukai’s store. Me and Kageyama were arguing about who ate the meat buns faster while the rest of the first years talked about something. I was too busy arguing to hear.
It was getting darker so we all resumed our walk to our respected homes. While walking beside Kageyama, still arguing, I noticed how Kageyama's hand unconsciously went back to its previous location and how there was a bit of movement in Tsukishima's pocket which I assumed was their hand interlocking with each other.
I stopped arguing and smiled sincerely at kageyama”congrats”
“What?” he replied confused
“Congrats on you and tsukishima’s relationship, i don't think i said it yet”
Kageyama’s face started to change into different shades of pink before he turned his head to avoid my gaze, he must've gotten shy which made me giggle.
“Shut up boke stop saying embarrassing stuff”
“But I'm being for real, you guys are so cute together!!”
Tsukishima returned my gaze with a small smile “thank you hinata”
“Yeah thanks” kageyama added still faced away from me, he was probably a blushing mess
“You're welcome love birds” i tease
“Shut up boke!!”
