“Why do you care?”Jinx’s voice was hoarse from all the crying she had done before his arrival. Now being the first time that she’s spoken since running out of Stillwater, leaving her sister locked in the very cell that she accepted her fate. She loosened her grip on the device, pointer finger retreating from the tempting power the pin had over her, a sign to Ekko that she wouldn’t try anything. At least not yet. Not until she knew why he never gave up on her. Why does no one seem to want to let her go? She was a jinx and everyone around her either gets hurt or dies. So why does he linger? After everything she’s done to him, and everyone he’s ever loved, why does he persist?
