Summary
“This,” Artemis began, gesturing Nico up and down. “Is a boy, uncle.”
Hades nodded, looking incredibly out of place as a mass of darkness in the otherwise serene meadow. “He is,” he agreed and then paused, looking at Nico with a sudden suspicion. “Right-?”
“Yes,” Nico interrupted flatly. “Still a boy. Just gay.”
“I was not conflating such things,” Hades muttered. Artemis raised a skeptical brow. “I merely thought I would ask.”
From behind Artemis, Percy gave a satisfied nod as he nudged Thalia. “Nice. We got a woke uncle.” He raised his fist only for Hades to stare. “Alrighty.” He pointed a thumb behind him. “I guess I’ll go-?”
“You better not leave me here,” Nico hissed.
“Bye, Nico!”
“Percy!” he began, a note of worrying desperation leeching into his tone. This was ridiculous. It wasn’t really happening, right? Right? “Tell Will that I’m being kidnapped!”
Thalia waved. “No,” she said, following after Percy.
Nico had never liked her.
Or
Apparently, Nico is what other campers are calling ‘a hot mess’ and ‘severely traumatized’ which has somehow led to his father relegating him to the Hunt. Worry not, it makes no sense to Artemis either.

"Lester? That's-? Oh, right. Names have power. Right." Paul tapped his pen against his temple… then frowned. "Percy never follows that rule."
"Percy doesn't follow any rules," Nico said helpfully. Paul grimaced. "It doesn't matter for him anyway. We avoid saying their names because we don't want the gods' attention - and I can assure you no god willingly wants to listen to what Percy Jackson has to say about them.
"Thalia hummed. "I love Annabeth, but she still doesn't completely understand mortal money even though she visits the mortal world regularly. It goes to show how much Percy pays for everything on their dates," she mused. "Then again, Percy said she once tried to tip a waiter a thousand dollars, so I'm not sure how she thinks any of this works."
If Nico was a betting man, he would say Annabeth learned mortal money a while ago and was just messing with them. But he wasn't because he knew the value of a dollar.
"He's a doctor," Annabeth jumped in. "So Will has strong opinions about everyone's health."
"It's true," Percy said, grinning at Hazel. "You better show him proof of a polio vaccine, Hazel. Otherwise, he's going to have an aneurysm on the spot."
Hazel tilted her head, eyes widening with delighted awe. "They made a polio vaccine? Oh, that's wonderful."
Will's head snapped toward her so fast that Nico almost jumped. "...you don't have your polio vaccine?" he asked dangerously. Hazel blinked. "Do you?" he asked Hugo, who frowned and shook his head. "Oh my gods. Why are all your children from the dark ages?" Will asked Hades, voice laced with pure panic. Hades turned to him. "My lord," he added hastily. "Apologies. I will personally ensure your children's health." He smiled tightly.
