Work Text:
“I made you tea,” Jinx said, a terrifying sentence coming from her.
Ekko raised his head from the notes they had been poring over, ready to put out a fire, but to his surprise, he didn’t smell any smoke. Jinx seemed to notice his distrust and gave him a look of annoyance.
"Oh, come on, Ekko, it’s just boiled water. I’m not that bad, am I?”
“No comment,” Ekko said, looking over the tea.
“It’s fine,” Jinx said, rolling her eyes. “Here.”
She took a sip and made a face.
“It’s bitter. But I know you like it that way.”
Given that Jinx rarely ate or drank anything without adding a horrendous amount of sugar, her finding it bitter wasn’t a bad sign. Carefully, he took a sip of it himself.
“This is actually…good.”
“Such surprise," she said. “You really don’t trust me, huh, Little Man?”
"Oh, I trust you. Just not in the kitchen.”
“That’s fair,” she sighed. “Do you trust me with this whole weird plant thingy?”
“Hey, you’re the smartest person I know.”
They got back to work.
