“Uh, Ekko?” Scar said, clearing his throat a bit. “I don’t want to pry, but those bite marks on your arm are really obvious.”
“Huh?” Ekko looked down. “Oh, those aren’t what you think.”
“So, those aren’t Jinx’s?”
“Oh, they are. But they aren’t love bites or anything.”
“Yeah,” Scar looked doubtful. “Whatever you say, man.”
“No, I’m serious. Jinx bites me a lot; it doesn’t mean she’s horny. There’s different kinds of bites with her. Playful bites, angry bites, and sexy bites. This was just playful.”
“You know sometimes you talk about her, and it sounds less like you have a girlfriend and more like you have a feral possum.”
Ekko opened his mouth to disagree before a small explosion came from the tree house. A blue head popped out of the window along with a lot of smoke.
“Ekko!” Jinx shouted. “I figured it out, but I also set the kitchen on fire again!”
He gave Scar a flat look.
“Don’t laugh.”
“I’m not laughing,” Scar said, his eyes sparkling with amusement.
“And for the record,” Ekko said, heading towards the fiery kitchen. “I like possums.”
