A Perfect Blend

Summary:

Everyone knows Gojo Satoru is the strongest, but Suguru didn't expect his genes to prove just as strong when it came to the appearance of their children.

Instead of seeing any of his features reflected in them, he found himself outnumbered by miniatures of Satoru.

Notes:

Just wanted to write some Mamaguru :(

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Work Text:

Suguru’s first and second children are always mistaken for twins. Despite being three years apart, most people refuse to believe it because they look nearly identical—white hair, thick eyelashes, and ocean-blue eyes, just like their father, Gojo Satoru. Suguru’s genes barely seem to have touched them, which sometimes makes him feel left out. Satoru likes to tease him about it, saying, “Satoshi has more of your personality than mine.”

Suguru can never take this seriously. After all, how much personality can a two-year-old like Satoshi really have? He mostly just cries for attention, runs around the house, and throws tantrums when things don’t go his way, like any toddler. Suguru is convinced Satoru is just messing with him, trying to claim some deeper insight into their son.

Their oldest, Suzumi, at five years old, is already like a miniature version of her father. With her long white hair and her sharp blue eyes, she could easily be mistaken for Satoshi's twin. Her hair has grown a little longer than her brother’s, but even that slight difference does nothing to stop people from assuming they are twins. No matter how often Suguru explains they are three years apart, people still smile and nod, as if they don’t quite believe him.

At this point, Suguru has given up trying to convince anyone.

It makes Suguru sigh. He loves his children deeply, but he can’t help feeling a bit disappointed. After carrying each of them for nine months, enduring the pains of labor, they both came out looking exactly like their father. It was almost laughable. Suguru had done all the work, yet somehow Satoru’s genes had taken full control.

After Suzumi, their firstborn, Suguru had been certain that their second child would at least inherit a few of his features. He had hoped for maybe a hint of black hair or even his darker eyes. But when Satoshi was born, fresh from the womb, there wasn’t a single strand of black on his head. And when he opened his eyes for the first time, they were the same glowing blue as Suzumi’s, staring back at him. Satoru had been tearing up in the medical room, practically sobbing with joy as if he had given birth. The moment was sweet, undeniably wholesome, but Suguru couldn’t help but pout as he looked at their new baby boy.

Was it possible that he didn’t have enough "ink" to leave his mark? Or maybe Satoru’s sperm was just too powerful. After all, he was the strongest, even in this. Suguru chuckled at the thought.

Everyone always commented on how beautiful their children were. “The prettiest kids I’ve ever seen,” they’d say. “Just like their father. They’re sure to grow up strong like him and maybe less annoying, hopefully.” Suguru would smile politely, but inside he wished someone would mention him in that mix. It was always Satoru people compared them to.

Nanami and Utahime were the only ones who looked distressed when they first saw Suzumi and Satoshi. Both had given Suguru sympathetic looks, as if pitying him for having to live in a house with not one, but three Gojos. It was understandable. Most people struggled to tolerate one. The idea of three running around seemed like a nightmare. Still, Suguru found it funny, because both Suzumi and Satoshi were mostly calm around him. But whenever they were with Nanami or Utahime, their personalities seemed to shift, becoming more mischievous. In that sense, they truly were their father’s children.

Megumi, while managing a congratulatory smile, didn’t seem pleased with the new additions at all. Maybe it was because they looked exactly like Satoru, or perhaps Megumi just didn’t like the idea of being replaced.

Satoru obviously teased him, saying, “Don’t be jealous, Megumi! You’ll always be my first child!”

Megumi shot him an annoyed look and retorted, “I’m not jealous! Stop assuming stuff!”

Meanwhile, Yuuji and Nobara absolutely loved the babies. They were eager to shower Suzumi and Satoshi with attention. Nobara even took them shopping one afternoon, having a blast picking out cute clothes and toys. The trio sometimes babysat them which was a huge help.

And it wasn’t like Suguru hadn’t caught Satoru teaching their kids some of his less charming habits. Whispering pranks into their ears, showing them how to annoy people in the most subtle ways. It was bad influence, plain and simple. But Suguru didn’t mind too much. He wasn’t any better himself, truth be told. Still, there were moments when Suguru had to step in and be the “better” parent. If their children inherited both of their troublesome sides, it could turn into a real problem later on.

Not only did their children look exactly like Satoru, but they even smelled like him. Suguru was convinced that both Suzumi and Satoshi might be alphas too given how they had inherited nearly every one of their father’s traits. Satoru, of course, was incredibly proud of this fact.

“If this one also ends up taking after you,” Suguru muttered, lying beside Satoru and caressing his swollen belly, “I’m sending it straight to the orphanage.”

Satoru’s eyes widened, and he instantly shifted, letting out a high-pitched whine. “You’re joking, right?”

But Suguru’s face showed no sign of humor. “I’m not,” he replied, his brows knitting together in frustration. “And you’ll be responsible,” he added, though deep down, he knew it was mostly his pregnancy mood swings talking.

“How is it my fault that my genes are stronger than yours?” Satoru pouted, resting his hand under his head.

Suguru made a small, irritating sound. “It’s unfair! All I want is for my babies to have some of my qualities. I went through all of this while all you did was—” Suguru paused, glaring, “—creampie me, and they came out looking exactly like you!”

Satoru’s chuckle made Suguru even more upset, his mood shifting faster than he could keep up with. Initially, they had only planned to have two kids, but after seeing how much they resembled Satoru, Suguru had decided to try for a third, hoping this one might be different. Now, at eight months pregnant and thoroughly exhausted, he was regretting that decision—though that didn’t stop him from still craving his alpha, who had never denied him anything.

“You’re laughing? You’re really laughing, Satoru!” Suguru growled, shifting as he grabbed Satoru’s face, pinching his cheeks with frustration. Satoru let out a series of muffled noises before Suguru attempted to sit on top of him, despite his heavy belly.

“Careful, Suguru,” Satoru said softly, instantly reaching out to guide him. He held Suguru gently, helping him settle comfortably atop him, his round belly protruding between them. Suguru’s long, dark hair spilled loosely around him, and he was dressed only in one of Satoru’s shirts. It had been months since Suguru had worn his own clothes—pregnancy was especially tough for omegas, who needed their alpha’s presence constantly, both physically and emotionally. The scent of Satoru was essential for him now, so Suguru had taken to wearing only Satoru’s clothes, except when they went outside.

Satoru stroked his cheeks softly and kissed him all over his face, trying to calm him down. “You’re the best,” he whispered, scenting Suguru while his hands caressed the swell of his belly. The small gestures, the scent, and Satoru’s presence slowly soothed Suguru’s frustration, leaving him feeling safe and cherished in his alpha’s arms.

“I do understand you, you know,” Satoru said, his cheek resting on Suguru’s pregnant belly. “I want a mini Suguru, too. Someone who’ll always remind me of you... so if you ever leave again, I’ll still have a version of you to live with.”

Suguru hadn’t expected to hear that.

“Satoru, I’ll never leave you,” he said softly, pulling him into an embrace. “Never. I promise. I’m here with you forever and always.”

Satoru smiled, a warmth spreading through him at Suguru’s words. Then, with his usual cheekiness, he added, “You know, we could always try for a fourth if this one doesn’t—OW!”

Suguru pinched his cheek, hard. “ No!

“Okay, okay! I’m letting it go!” Satoru yelped, rubbing his face.

“You’re getting a vasectomy after this. No more children,” Suguru said, his face dark and serious. “Got it?”

Satoru nodded quickly, raising a hand in surrender. “As you wish, wife!”

Suguru gave him a devilish smile. “Good. Now I’m horny, so you better get to work.”

Satoru shot him an unimpressed look.

“What? You don’t want to?” Suguru teased.

Satoru groaned, flopping his head back onto the pillow. “Suguru-san, if you keep this up, the chances of this baby getting your genes are looking thinner by the minute.”

“I don’t think that’s how it works,” Suguru said with a smirk. “But fine, I’ll start checking out orphanages.”

“Suguru!” Satoru groaned again, though this time he couldn’t help but smile.

Suguru giggled, clearly pleased with himself.

Satoru sighed dramatically, but the playful smirk on his face told Suguru he wasn’t really complaining. Suguru leaned in, grabbing his face gently this time, and kissed him. The kiss started slow, soft, but quickly deepened. Satoru’s hands slid down to Suguru’s hips, pulling him closer as their lips moved in sync, the heat between them rising fast.

But just as things were getting more intense, a soft knock came at the door.

Satoru paused, groaning in frustration. “Seriously?”

Suguru chuckled, resting his forehead against Satoru’s. “Don’t even complain”

Before they could respond, the door creaked open, and Suzumi peeked in, Satoshi standing sleepily behind her, rubbing his eyes. “Mana, Papa… can we sleep with you tonight?” Suzumi asked, her big blue eyes looking up at them pleadingly.

Suguru smiled softly, knowing there was no way to say no to those eyes. “Of course, come here.”

The kids shuffled over, climbing onto the bed. Suzumi squeezed between her parents while Satoshi, still half-asleep, curled up against Suguru’s other side, his tiny hands resting on Suguru’s swollen belly. As everyone got settled, Suzumi glanced up at Suguru, curiosity sparkling through her sleepy gaze. “Mama, when are we going to meet our new baby brother or sister?”

Suguru stroked her hair gently, smiling. “Soon, very soon,” he whispered. “Your sibling can’t wait to meet you.”

Suzumi giggled, cuddling closer, resting her head against Suguru’s chest. Satoru, now with his arm wrapped around all of them, looked down at the peaceful scene. The room filled with the soft sounds of the children’s breathing as they quickly drifted off to sleep.

Suguru turned his head slightly to meet Satoru’s gaze, and the tenderness in Satoru’s eyes made Suguru’s heart swell. Without saying a word, Suguru leaned in and pressed a soft kiss to Satoru’s cheek. Satoru smiled, his eyes half-lidded with warmth.

“Guess we’ll have to save that for later,” Satoru whispered, glancing at their sleeping children.

Suguru smiled sleepily in return. “Yeah,” he whispered back, resting his hand protectively over his belly. “Later.”

With their children snuggled between them, Suguru felt the pull of sleep. As much as he teased Satoru about their kids looking exactly like him, moments like this made everything perfect. They were all together, and that was all that mattered.

Suguru hadn’t expected to go into labor so soon. It was earlier than they’d anticipated, and he was at home alone with Suzumi and Satoshi when the first painful contraction hit. Panic surged through him. Satoru was away on a mission, and they hadn’t expected the baby to come for another couple of weeks. But there was no stopping it now.

Shoko had arrived quickly to help, having received Suguru’s frantic call. She took charge, calmly getting him to the hospital while also keeping the kids entertained. Though Suguru could barely focus through the waves of pain, he knew his children were in good hands.

By the time he was in the labor room, the contractions had intensified. Suguru gripped the sides of the bed, breathing deeply as the nurses guided him through the process. His heart ached for Satoru to be there, and though he knew Satoru would come as fast as he could, fear and discomfort gnawed at him.

“Where’s Satoru?” Suguru asked through clenched teeth, his voice trembling slightly as another contraction hit.

“He’s on his way,” Shoko reassured him. “He’ll be here soon, just focus on breathing.”

Suguru nodded, trying to keep calm, but each wave of pain made him feel like the world was spinning. Time passed, and just when he felt he couldn’t handle it anymore, the door burst open. Satoru rushed into the room, his face flushed and his breath slightly ragged from rushing over.

“Suguru!” Satoru called out as he reached the bed, immediately taking Suguru’s hand in his, kissing it softly. His other hand caressed Suguru’s face, his gaze full of worry and love. “I’m here now. I’m so sorry I wasn’t here sooner.”

Suguru’s heart flooded with relief the moment he saw Satoru. He let out a shaky breath, squeezing Satoru’s hand tightly. “I’m so glad you’re here,” he whispered. “I was so scared…”

Satoru smiled softly, brushing a few strands of Suguru’s hair away from his sweaty forehead. “You’re amazing, Suguru. You’ve got this, okay? I’m not going anywhere. I’m right here.”

Suguru smiled back, feeling the tension in his chest loosen as Satoru’s presence grounded him. He leaned into Satoru’s touch, taking strength from his words. “Don’t let go of my hand,” Suguru whispered, his grip tightening as another contraction hit.

“I won’t,” Satoru promised, pressing another kiss to Suguru’s knuckles and scenting him. “Never.”

The next hour passed in a blur of pain, pressure, and Satoru’s constant reassurances. The nurses and doctors worked steadily, guiding Suguru through the final stages of labor. Satoru held his hand the entire time, whispering words of encouragement and love, his voice steady and calming.

“You’re doing so well,” Satoru said softly, his thumb rubbing circles on the back of Suguru’s hand. “Just a little more, you’ve got this.”

Suguru groaned through the effort, his entire body trembling with exhaustion. “I can’t... I’m so tired…”

“Yes, you can,” Satoru whispered, his lips brushing against Suguru’s temple. “You’re the strongest person I know, Suguru. We’re almost there.”

Suguru gave one final push, the room filling with the sound of his strained breathing and the medical team’s instructions. And then, all at once, the room was filled with the sharp, piercing cries of a newborn baby.

The world seemed to pause for a moment as Suguru collapsed back onto the bed, his entire body shaking with relief. The nurse smiled brightly, looking at Suguru and Satoru. “Congratulations!” she said warmly, gently holding up the tiny, squirming infant wrapped in a blanket. “It’s a boy.”

Suguru’s eyes filled with tears, his chest heaving as the overwhelming mix of exhaustion and joy hit him all at once. Satoru, still holding his hand tightly, leaned down and kissed his forehead. “You did it,” Satoru whispered, his voice thick with emotion. “Our son is here.”

As the nurse carefully handed the baby over to Suguru, his heart skipped a beat. He cradled the tiny bundle gently in his arms, feeling the warmth of their newborn son against his chest. Satoru stayed by his side, leaning in close as they both stared down at their child. Suguru's breath caught in his throat as he noticed something surprising—something that made his eyes tremble with emotion.

One side of the baby’s hair was black, jet black like Suguru’s. The other side, however, was pure white, just like Satoru’s. The contrast was striking, and Suguru couldn’t believe it. He stared in awe, his heart swelling with love and surprise. The baby hadn’t opened his eyes yet, but the sight of that black hair, mixed with the white, made Suguru’s chest tighten.

For a moment, Suguru was speechless. He gently stroked his son’s soft head, the feeling of his own genes reflected in their child finally sinking in.

Before Suguru could even process it fully, Satoru’s reaction came rushing in. Satoru gasped, his face lighting up dramatically. Without a second's hesitation, he wrapped his arms around Suguru, pulling him into a tight hug.

“Oh my God, Suguru!” Satoru’s voice cracked, his eyes filling with tears. “You did it! You finally did it!”

Suguru blinked, startled.

“You beat me!” Satoru cried. “Your genes! Your genes finally beat mine in a 50/50 split!” He was practically sobbing now, tears of joy streaming down his face. “Look at him! Black hair! Your hair! Oh my God, Suguru!”

The nurses, standing nearby, exchanged amused glances and started giggling quietly. Suguru felt his face flush bright red as he stared at Satoru, who was still holding him tightly, tears running down his cheeks. He couldn't believe how loudly Satoru was carrying on about it.

“Satoru, stop it!” Suguru hissed, his face hot with embarrassment. “You’re making a scene!”

But Satoru, completely overwhelmed by happiness, was too far gone to care. “I don’t care!” he laughed through his tears, pressing kisses to Suguru’s temple. “Our son has your hair! Finally! Do you know how long I’ve waited for this?”

Suguru’s cheeks were burning as he squirmed in Satoru’s arms, casting a glance at the giggling nurses. “Shut up, Satoru,” he muttered, but despite his embarrassment, there was a small smile tugging at his lips. Deep down, he was touched by how emotional Satoru was.

Satoru pulled back just enough to cup Suguru’s face, still grinning like an idiot through his tears. “I’m so proud of you, Suguru,” he said softly. “He’s perfect. You’re perfect.”

Suguru sighed, still flustered, but there was no denying the warmth spreading in his chest. He glanced back down at their son, his heart swelling as he took in the sight of his tiny, beautiful face.

“Yeah,” Suguru whispered, his voice soft and full of love. “He really is.”

As the baby stirred slightly in his arms, Suguru could feel Satoru’s hand rest on his back, his tears finally slowing down. Together, they gazed down at their newborn son, who was the perfect blend of both of them—black and white, Suguru and Satoru.

Later that day, after Suguru had some time to rest, Shoko brought Suzumi and Satoshi to the hospital to meet their new sibling. The kids were practically bouncing with excitement as they entered the room, eyes wide and full of curiosity. Satoru scooped Suzumi up while Suguru held Satoshi on his lap, and they all gathered around the bed where their baby brother was swaddled, sleeping peacefully.

“Mama, is that him?” Suzumi asked. Her big blue eyes sparkled with excitement as she tried to get a better look. “Is that our baby brother?”

Suguru smiled, “Yes, Suzumi. This is your little brother,” he said softly. “Do you want to see him up close?”

Satoru gently set Suzumi down on the bed next to Suguru, and she eagerly leaned in, her little hands carefully resting on the edge of the baby’s blanket. Satoshi, sitting on Suguru’s lap, stared wide-eyed, clearly fascinated by the sight of the new family member.

“His hair is like yours, Mama!” Suzumi exclaimed, noticing the black and white hair. She looked up at Suguru with a big smile, clearly impressed. “He has both colors!”

Suguru chuckled softly, nodding. “Yes, he does. He’s a mix of both Mama and Papa.”

Satoshi, still a bit shy but curious, leaned in closer. His tiny fingers reached out hesitantly, lightly brushing against the baby’s soft cheek. “Is he sleeping?” Satoshi whispered.

“Yes, he’s sleeping,” Suguru replied, smiling gently. “He’s still very little, so he’ll sleep a lot for now.”

Satoru crouched down beside the bed, his eyes shining with pride and joy as he watched their kids meet their baby brother for the first time. “What do you think, Suzumi? Satoshi? Isn’t he beautiful?”

“He’s so tiny!” Suzumi giggled, carefully touching the baby’s hand. “Will he get bigger like us?”

Suguru nodded, smiling fondly. “Yes, he’ll grow up just like you two. And you’ll be the best big sister and brother for him, won’t you?”

“Mm-hmm!” Suzumi said.

Satoshi, still focused on the baby, nodded.

Suzumi looked up at Suguru with her usual curiosity. “Mama, when will he open his eyes?”

“Soon,” Suguru said softly. “He’s just very sleepy right now, but when he does, you’ll see his pretty eyes.”

“Let’s hope he has your eyes, Mama,” Satoru said, glancing at Suguru with a playful smirk.

Suguru rolled his eyes but smiled back. “We’ll see.”

The baby began to stir in Suguru's arms. Slowly, he blinked his tiny eyes open for the first time, revealing something that made the entire room go quiet. One eye was a deep, rich black like Suguru’s, while the other was a brilliant blue, the same color as Satoru’s.

For a moment, no one spoke. Suzumi and Satoshi stared in awe, their small faces filled with wonder. Suguru’s breath caught in his throat as he gazed down at their baby, a perfect blend of both parents in the most unexpected way. His heart swelled, and he looked over at Satoru, who was already watching him.

Satoru’s eyes were glowing, filled with so much love. Suguru returned the smile, his expression tender and full of warmth.

But, of course, Satoru being Satoru, he had to open his mouth.

Satoru leaned in close, his lips brushing against Suguru’s ear as he whispered mischievously, “Let’s make one more. I’m certain this time you’ll win by 100%.”

Suguru froze, his expression immediately darkening as he shot Satoru a sharp glare. His eyes narrowed in disbelief. “ What ?” he hissed, keeping his voice low. “Are you serious right now?”

Satoru grinned, completely unbothered by Suguru’s irritation, his eyes sparkling with that playful gleam Suguru knew all too well. “I’m just saying, love. We’ve got a 50/50 blend this time. Next round, it’ll be all you.”

Suguru sighed heavily, shaking his head as he tried to suppress the smile tugging at his lips. His eyes closed for a moment, as if gathering the strength to deal with his ridiculous husband.

“You really are insufferable, Satoru,” he muttered, though the slight curve of his lips betrayed the affection beneath his irritation.

Maybe he was considering it? Who knows.

Notes:

Did you guys imagine the baby as Sakura from Wind Breaker? If you did then great! That's exactly what I had in mind.

Also the idea of this fic came to me when I found myself noticing that whenever it comes to stsg mpreg fanart, always if not most of the time the baby looks exactly like a mini version of Gojo hehe I love it ;)
