Lovebirds

Summary:

Ever since they started dating, Suo had noticed that Sakura always tried to initiate physical contact but was too embarrassed to make the first move.

Did Suo usually make the first move when Sakura didn’t? Most of the time, yes but sometimes...

Suo casually put both his hands behind his back, pretending to focus on Nirei, who was rambling about something.

A teasing smile tugged at Suo’s lips when he caught a glimpse of Sakura pouting slightly as he shoved his hands into his pockets.

So cute, Suo thought, amused.

Haruka’s being cute again

Suo thought as they walked side by side, with him standing between Nirei and Sakura.

He noticed how Sakura kept hesitating, glancing at Suo’s hand, his cheeks flushed red as if he were battling something in his mind.

Suo, ever observant, immediately understood what was going on in Sakura’s head.

He wants to hold hands. How bold of him, and in public too

Suo thought, beaming happily.

Ever since they started dating, Suo had noticed that Sakura always tried to initiate physical contact but was too embarrassed to make the first move.

And it's not only Suo that noticed those kind of things.

The trio was enjoying lunch at Kotoha’s Café, sitting together with Nirei across from them.

Kotoha brought out two plates of omurice, placing them in front of Sakura and Nirei, she poured tea for Suo with a smile.

Sakura’s eyes lit up at the sight of his favorite food, but the excitement faded as he spotted the side of vegetables. He groaned in frustration.

"Why do you keep putting vegetables on my plate? I don’t even eat them!"

"Complain all you want, but it’s not like your boyfriend isn’t here to finish them for you." Kotoha smirked mischievously.

Sakura’s face immediately flushed. "Shut up!" he snapped, shoving a large spoonful of rice into his mouth, chewing angrily.

Suo chuckled softly, his crimson eye glinting with amusement. He slid closer to Sakura, making their thighs touching under the table, and gently patted his back.

"Slow down, Sakura-kun."

Still flustered, Sakura huffed but didn’t respond, too focused on angrily munching his food.

"Look at the lovebirds." Kotoha giggled, covering her mouth.

“I’m always looking at them. I’m the permanent third wheel,” Nirei chimed in with a half-smile.

Suo let out another soft laugh, slowly pulling his hand away from Sakura and preparing to give him space.

But before he could retreat, Sakura’s free hand snuck under the table, grabbing his, and pulling it onto his lap.

Suo glanced down before catching Sakura’s face growing redder by the second as he stubbornly focused on his rice.

A fond smile spread across Suo’s lips. Without hesitation, he intertwined their fingers beneath the table, giving Sakura’s hand a gentle squeeze.

Sakura, still munching furiously, let out another huff but didn’t pull away. His face continued to redden, and Suo couldn’t help but admire just how cute his boyfriend was.

"How lovely to be young again"

"We’re in same age, Kotoha-san"

During their patrol around town, Suo, Sakura, and Nirei came across a group of thugs harassing three high school girls in an alley.

As the grade captain, Sakura immediately took the front line in the fight, standing protectively between the thugs and his friends while Suo and Nirei guarded the girls.

Nirei trembled slightly as some of the men attempted to attack them too, but Suo was quick to act, swiftly knocking them away with precise movements.

“Sakura-san, behind you!” Nirei gasped as he saw one of the thugs raising a wooden stick, ready to strike Sakura from behind.

Sakura swiftly crouched to dodge the attack, then slid his leg out to kick the man’s feet, sending him tumbling to the ground.

Just as Sakura was focused on the man behind him, another thug rushed from the front, managing to land a punch that made Sakura stumble back slightly.

“You call that a punch?” Sakura huffed, standing tall again and preparing to deliver a real blow.

“Big talk for someone who—”

Before the thug could finish his sentence, he was met with a swift, powerful kick to the face. He barely had time to react before Suo delivered another same kick from his other foot, twisting in midair with impressive speed.

Sakura’s eyes widened in surprise, watching Suo’s fluid movements. Nirei’s jaw dropped. "That fast!?"

The remaining group, shocked by the sight of their injured comrade, quickly gathered him and fled the scene.

"Hey! Come back here!" Nirei yelled.

Meanwhile, Sakura slowly approached Suo, reaching out to take his hand. He was ready to hold onto him, just in case Suo lost control again like before. Suo glanced down at their intertwined hands.

“Ah, did I overdo it?” Suo asked with a sheepish smile, turning to face Sakura.

Sakura sighed in relief. “It’s fine… Should’ve leave him to me” He muttered.

“Nire-kun, why don’t you take the girls to a nearby café? We’ll meet you there,” Suo suggested.

Nirei, who had been furiously scribbling something in his diary, flinched at the sound of Suo’s voice. “O-Oh, right!” He quickly turned to the girls and led them away.

Now alone, Suo gently placed his hand on Sakura’s bruised cheek. “It hurts a little, doesn’t it?”

“It’s just a scratch,” Sakura replied, holding Suo’s hand and leaning into the warmth of his palm. “I’ve had worse.” He nuzzled his cheek against Suo’s hand.

“Still... should we get a bandage?” Suo asked softly.

“You become so protective after we started dating..” Sakura mumbled. The with a bit of hesitation, he slowly brought Suo’s hand closer to his lips. “People always say... a kiss makes everything better... s-so—” He mumbled, his face burning red as he looked away in embarrassment.

Suo was momentarily taken aback, his face also flushing as he quickly turned his head and covered his expression with his free hand.

Sakura, thinking Suo was laughing at him, snapped. Embarrassment flared up, making him even redder. “F-Forget it!” he snapped, pushing Suo’s hand away.

But before Sakura could retreat, Suo caught his hand, pulling him into a warm embrace.

“Love, please… give me a warning first,” Suo whispered, his breath hot against Sakura’s ear, sending a shiver down his spine. Suo gently caressed Sakura’s back before pulling away slightly.

Sakura’s breath hitched as he noticed Suo’s face, tinged with red. It was rare to see Suo Hayato, always composed and smiling, actually blush because of him. The sight made butterflies stir in Sakura’s stomach, his own face turning red.

Suo leaned in and pressed a soft kiss to Sakura’s bruised cheek. “Better?” he asked with a gentle smile.

Sakura nodded slowly, but hesitation still flickered in his eyes, as if there was something more he wanted to say.

“What is it?” Suo asked, sensing Sakura’s unease. Honesty was important to their relationship, and he wanted to understand his boyfriend’s thoughts.

Sakura looked away, pursing his lips. “My lips hurt…” he mumbled, his face growing even redder.

Suo’s heart nearly leaped out of his chest as he resisted the urge to burst out laughing. Instead, he squeezed Sakura’s cheeks with both hands.

“No can do. If we start, you’ll want more, and Nire-kun’s waiting for us.”

Sakura frowned, his pout deepening. Suo immediately kissed the frown away with a quick peck on his forehead, their height difference making it the perfect gesture.

With a grin, Suo grabbed Sakura’s hand and laced their fingers together. “Next time, if you want to do something like this… just go for it. I don’t mind.”

“I don’t want to seem clingy,” Sakura muttered, looking away.

Suo smirked, leaning in closer. “Aren’t you already?”

“No, I'm not!” Sakura snapped, his flustered face deepening into a scowl as Suo laughed softly, squeezing his hand tighter.

"Tomorrow is the weekend," Sakura muttered, his voice unusually soft as he and Suo walked home together. Nirei had wandered off to a nearby store, leaving them alone.

Suo blinked at the sudden statement, smiling warmly. "Ah, yes, tomorrow is the weekend."

Suo would believe Sakura if he said tomorrow's Christmas too.

"...Are you free? Tomorrow morning?" Sakura asked, avoiding eye contact.

Suo hummed thoughtfully. "I don’t think I have any plans. Why? Are you asking me on a date?"

Sakura’s face immediately flushed. "A-As if! I’m just asking!"

Suo let out a sigh. "Haa… So Haruka doesn’t want to go on a date with me? How heartbreaking."

"That’s not what I meant—"

"It’s fine..." Suo sighed louder, his tone full of exaggerated sorrow. "I guess I’ll spend my weekend all alone."

"Cut it out," Sakura grumbled, feeling the heat rise to his cheeks. "I just... wanted to ask if you’d want to... stay over tonight."

His words barely audible as embarrassment settled in. "Last week, we didn’t get time together because of the grade captain meeting… so, since we’re both free tomorrow, I thought we could—H-Hey!?"

Sakura froze when Suo suddenly crouched down right in the middle of the street. Panic gripped him. "What’s wrong? Are you sick?"

"...I'm going to die on early age because of you, Haruka."

"What are you even talking about?" Sakura frowned, nudging Suo with his shoe.

Suo’s eye sparkled as he gazed up at him. "I think I’m falling even deeper in love with you."

Sakura’s face burned crimson, his heart pounding as Suo’s words echoed in his ears. "W-What?!"

-

"Quick, Suo!" Sakura huffed as he lay on his futon, impatiently waiting. Suo, fresh from brushing his teeth, placed his toothbrush next to Sakura's before stepping out of the bathroom.

"My, someone's eager tonight," Suo teased with a playful grin.

"Shut up and come here," Sakura muttered, patting the empty space beside him.

As soon as Suo lay down, Sakura immediately rolled into his open arms, pulling Suo's arm around him. Suo chuckled softly, tightening the embrace without hesitation.

"Hm... I've been waiting for this..." Sakura sighed, resting his head on Suo's chest, his arms wrapping securely around Suo.

"And you said you didn’t want to be clingy," Suo teased, brushing his fingers through Sakura's hair.

"Shut up... this feels nice. I love it."

Suo hummed in contentment, continuing to caress Sakura’s back with one hand while playing with his hair with the other.

"We haven’t done it today..." Sakura mumbled under his breath.

"Hm? What is it?" Suo raised an eyebrow, though a mischievous smile tugged at his lips.

"Oh, you know..." Sakura looked up, a faint blush creeping across his face as he lifted his body slightly, their faces now inches apart. "We always do it."

Suo feigned confusion, his teasing smile widening. "Ah, I seriously forgot. You’ll have to remind me."

"You know what? Forget it!" Sakura’s embarrassment sky-rocketed, and he quickly turned his back to Suo, pulling the blanket over his head.

Suo laughed lightly, hugging the blanket that now hid his boyfriend. "Why so shy, Haruka? Just say what you want."

"Shut up! I hate you!" Sakura’s muffled voice came from within the blanket, though his red face betrayed his words.

"Haruka..." Suo murmured as he slipped under the blanket, pressing his body against Sakura's. His breath was hot against Sakura’s ear as he whispered in a low voice, "Didn't you hurt your lips earlier?"

Oh. That’s it.

Sakura threw the blanket off and swiftly rolled on top of Suo, straddling him. Blushing furiously, he grabbed Suo’s pillow and smacked him multiple times.

"Ah! Love—why are you hitting me?"

"Shut up!" Sakura tossed the pillow onto Suo’s face, then buried his own in it to cool down his burning cheeks.

"I can't breathe, love—" Suo's muffled voice came from beneath the pillow, but his arms never left Sakura's waist.

Sakura groaned before slowly lowered the pillow, revealing Suo's face, his hair now a messy mop, and his eye-patch slightly crooked.

"I really got myself an aggressive boyfriend, huh?" Suo sighed, smiling fondly.

"And you’re stuck with him forever," Sakura muttered, resting his chin on the pillow between them.

"I wouldn't want it any other way," Suo laughed, tightening his arms around Sakura. "It’s late. Should we sleep?"

Sakura shook his head vigorously.

Suo chuckled, "Not sleepy?"

Sakura shook his head again, more determined this time.

"Then what do you want to do?" Suo asked softly, his fingers threading through Sakura’s hair once more.

"...You know what I want," Sakura mumbled, looking away.

"Do I? But how would I know if Haruka doesn't tell me?" Suo teased with a grin.

"Suo Hayato," Sakura's voice dropped to a whisper. "...Kiss me before I kick your nut."

Suo couldn’t help but laugh, a genuine smile lighting up his face. "At least you're being honest now." He leaned closer, whispering, "Come here."

Sakura tossed the pillow aside and moved closer until their faces were just a breath apart. His hands rested on Suo’s chest as Suo’s arms wrapped around his back, pulling him closer.

Finally, Sakura leaned in, pressing his lips softly against Suo's. Suo smiled secretly as he noticed, once again, how tightly Sakura always shut his eyes when they kissed.

So cute...

Suo felt a light tap on his chest, a signal from Sakura to kiss him back. And so he did.

Their kiss started soft and tender, a delicate brush of warmth that sent tingles down Sakura’s spine. As their lips moved together, it was like a slow dance—Suo gently coaxing Sakura, guiding the rhythm.

The air between them was thick with intimacy, the quiet touch of their lips blending with their steady breaths.

Suo’s tongue flicked out, teasing Sakura’s lower lip, and Sakura’s lips parted slightly in response, allowing Suo to deepen the kiss.

Suo’s tongue glided inside, meeting Sakura’s in a sensual, languid dance, each stroke filled with a heated desire. Their tongues tangled and slid against each other, sending shivers through Sakura’s body as he gripped Suo's shirt tighter.

The kiss grew more intense, their breaths becoming heavier, their lips locked in a passionate exchange that felt endless.

When they finally pulled apart, Sakura's chest heaved with each breath, his cheeks flushed and his lips swollen from the intensity.

Suo’s free hand came up to brush aside Sakura’s bangs, revealing his red face. He then traced Sakura’s soft lips with his thumb, his eyes glinting with affection and desire.

“Say my name, Haruka,” Suo whispered, his voice low and husky, the smile on his lips full of warmth.

Sakura’s hands, which had been resting on Suo’s chest, slid up to grip his shoulders. Leaning forward, instead of meeting Suo’s lips in another kiss, Sakura surprised him with a playful kitten lick across his lips.

“Kiss me more, Hayato,” Sakura murmured, his voice filled with need.

Suo’s grin widened before he pulled Sakura back into a searing kiss. This time, there was no hesitation.

He captured Sakura’s lips with more intensity, his tongue immediately sliding inside Sakura’s mouth. Their tongues intertwined, moving together in a fiery, hungry rhythm.

Sakura’s arms wrapped around Suo’s neck, pulling him closer, while Suo deepened the kiss, tilting his head for better access.

The heat between them intensified as Suo rolled them over, positioning Sakura beneath him. Now sitting between Sakura’s legs, Suo pressed his body against Sakura’s, trapping him beneath him as their lips and tongues continued to dance feverishly.

Sakura’s fingers tangled in Suo’s hair, gripping tight as if anchoring himself, while his legs instinctively locked around Suo’s waist, pulling him closer.

Suo’s hands roamed Sakura’s sides, feeling the warmth of his body through the thin fabric of his clothes, and Sakura arched his back slightly in response.

Their kiss became more fervent, more desperate, their tongues meeting in slick, heated strokes that left both of them breathless. Sakura’s soft moans mixed with their panting breaths as Suo kissed him harder, his hands now slipping under Sakura’s shirt, exploring the warmth of his skin.

Sakura could barely keep up with the intensity, his body trembling under Suo’s touch as he clung to him tighter, pulling him impossibly close.

The heat between them was electric, their lips swollen from the relentless kissing, their bodies craving more of the closeness, the passion between them building with every passing second.

When they finally pulled apart for air, both of them were panting heavily, foreheads pressed together, the room filled with the sound of their ragged breaths.

Sakura’s hands were still tangled in Suo’s hair, and his legs remained locked around Suo’s waist, both of them lost in the heat of the moment.

"Was that too much?" Suo asked, his hand gently caressing Sakura's flushed cheek.

Sakura held Suo's arm with both hands, nuzzling his face into the warmth of Suo's palm before shaking his head.

"No... I loved it." He then looked straight into Suo's eye, a soft smile playing on his lips. "I... love you."

Suo's eye widened as his heart began racing again. He had always thought that his feeling was one-sided and Sakura might be dating him just to experience what a relationship was like.

It had been so hard for Sakura to express his feelings, but now... Just now...

"Haruka—"

Suo stopped when he noticed Sakura had already dozed off, still hugging Suo's arm tightly.

With a soft sigh, Suo smiled down at his sleeping boyfriend.

"Guess I'll have to wait until tomorrow," he murmured fondly, brushing a stray lock of hair from Sakura's face.
