It wasn’t that he lacked pride or self-worth; rather, he understood that not every provocation required a response. He could let the world swirl around him, unphased by the noise, because, to him, most things simply weren’t worth the energy. However, there was one line, one boundary, that once crossed, would awaken a different side of him—a side he usually kept well-guarded.
He protected what was his with the same ferocity that a dragon would guard its hoard, its treasures. His loyalty was fierce, unwavering, and once he chose to invest his heart or his time in something or someone, they were untouchable. Those who mattered to him were sacred, and any threat to their safety or well-being would not be tolerated. Lizel was a patient man, but his patience had limits. When someone dared to test those limits, they would learn quickly that his wrath was quiet but sharp—exactly the kind of danger one might least expect.
