Summary
The Doctor was dying.
Not the first time he'd gone down that road, but absorbing the heart of the Time Vortex was definitely a first.
So many things left unsaid, so many adventures he and Rose would never have, at least with this face.
In a burst of light, the Doctor says goodbye.
...But then she wakes up.

Rose didn't understand what was happening, one minute she felt like she was burning up, then the Doctor said he was dying!
And now there's some girl standing there, looking far too small in his clothes and claiming to be the Doctor!?

AU! Season 2 starting with the children in need/Christmas Invasion where instead of regenerating into David Tenant, the Tenth Doctor is instead a teenage girl.
