Summary
It’s more of a question for himself than for the students, he realizes. Underneath all of the studying, AP classes, and playing lacrosse year round with zero breaks, Alex notices that he never even had a chance to try and discover himself in high school, and certainly not in college like everybody said he would. His heart drops to the floor once he realizes that he doesn’t have a clue who his high school self actually was when you strip away the perfect grades or the title of the perfect student.
Alex isn’t sure he’ll ever have the chance to rest in his life, and he knows that’s his fault, too.
* * *
or, Alex is a high school social studies teacher and Henry is an AP English teacher, they "hate" each other, but their students are convinced they're in love and secretly married.
