Work Text:
Seokjin cursed, gaining the attention of everyone in the office. He smiled sheepishly and waited until their eyes left him before adjusting his shirt a little. Shirt collars really didn’t agree with his swollen neck. Even two layers of soft bandages weren’t enough to soothe the irritated skin. His mates had truly outdone themselves. Bites didn’t have to be that intense to form a bond. Apparently, his pack didn’t get the memo.
When Seokjin wasn’t at work, the little pains and aches brought back memories. Jungkook’s sweet little moans and Namjoon’s rough growls. The way Jimin had fucked him so sweetly on his knot. How Taehyung had volunteered to go last just so he could cuddle while still inside Seokjin for a long time after. Hoseok had been the worst culprit, making him beg and writhe with teasing nips before he bit down. Really, Yoongi was his only ally in the pack because he’d been so gentle and sweet as second-to-last, making sure Seokjin stayed present after each knot and bite.
That was two days ago, yet the bites were still red and puffy. His mates had warned him about it, having gone through the same things years before. Getting six bites all at once was never going to be an easy recovery. He was a little bitter that they could already display his marks on them proudly. They’d scabbed over so fast like a mating bite was meant to. Six intense bites were a whole different issue, overlapping and confusing his instincts. He was healing as if they were normal injuries instead of mating bites. Having six boyfriends was a blessing, and he would adore the marks later, but for now it was driving him crazy.
Showing off the bites at work was going to be a whole ordeal. People had tried to prod about the bandages, but he danced around the truth. Some of them assumed he’d been in some sort of accident. As he shifted his neck, it kind of felt like he had. Back at the den, he was going to demand to be spoiled once again. It was the least they could do after decimating his neck. The muscles fucking ached.
He was able to get through work by taking some painkillers and adopting his strategy of clicking randomly on his keyboard to look like he was busy anytime a coworker seemed like they were approaching. Finally, the end of the day came, and he could go home. He grabbed his phone.
Jinnie: Someone better already be here because I need to nest immediately.
Minnie: Is it the bites again? They’ll heal up soon, hyungie. I’ll get Yoongi to start dinner early and we can feed you in the nest ♡
Hobi: I’m waiting outside!
Such good mates! Seokjin hurried to meet with him. The second he was in grabbing distance, Seokjin buried his face in Hoseok’s neck and nipped over the fresh mark there, scenting like they’d been parted for years.
“Hi hyung,” Hoseok hugged him tight. “Let’s get back to the den. Then you can nest all you want.”
Back at the den, Seokjin was having a great time while his mates looked on in various states of pouting. He never specified which nest he was desperate for. They watched as he ate a strawberry dipped in chocolate from inside his personal nest. It would probably spoil his appetite for the dinner Yoongi was almost done making, but he didn’t care.
When he moved in officially, he’d brought his usual nesting set up into the corner of the living room. Setting it up had been great. He’d made some improvements in the design. There was a basket just outside the entry flaps for his mates to drop off their shirts and sweaters for him to nest with. They had spray-painted it pink and the pups had made a little sign that said “Jinnie’s donations” with cute stickers around it.
“Hyung, we have to change the bandages,” Namjoon frowned. “It’s better to do it before we eat.”
Seokjin talked around another mouthful of strawberry, “This is all your fault for losing it on my neck. All of you need to reflect on your actions. Besides, you’re going to insist on changing them again before we sleep. It’s not environmentally friendly to be going through so much material.”
“This isn’t about the environment,” Namjoon frowned. “It’s about hygienic healing practices.”
“Someone please check on Joonie, he’s not defending trees anymore!” Seokjin placed a hand on his chest in feigned surprise.
“I love you more than trees,” Namjoon said petulantly. Maybe Seokjin shouldn’t be so endeared by such a ridiculous statement, but he still filed it lovingly away in his mind. His Joonie loved him more than trees!
“You’re literally bleeding through the bandages.”
Seokjin looked further outside the nest to see Yoongi peeking in from the kitchen. “And, once again, who’s fault is that?”
Yoongi just smiled, “Dinner is ready. But first, let someone change the bandages. I’ll plate food in the meantime. Don’t make the pups get all whiny about it. You know you won’t be able to resist then.”
Seokjin cautioned a look at the alpha pups, who quickly upped their pouts into something truly heart-wrenching.
“Ugh, fine.”
He crawled out of the nest and plopped onto the couch. Jimin went to nudge him forward and slithered behind him. Seokjin was about to complain, but instead let out a groan as Jimin massaged his shoulders. He whispered a thank you and craned his neck to get a quick kiss, ignoring the sting there. Hoseok and Namjoon sorted out the fresh bandages while Jungkook and Taehyung worked on unraveling the old ones.
Once they were off, Seokjin cherished the moment of freedom and rolled his head in a circle.
“Carefully,” Namjoon tried to stop him. “You’re opening up the bloody one more.”
He felt a small trickle of blood run from the bite. Hoseok stopped it with a tissue before it could stain his shirt.
“Jungkookie really did a number on you.” Hoseok gently applied a soothing cream, focusing on the deepest marks.
“I didn’t mean to make it so deep,” Jungkook pressed a kiss to Seokjin’s cheek. “Sorry hyungie.”
“No need to be sorry,” Seokjin cooed. “I love your bite, baby.”
He didn’t actually think Jungkook’s bite was any worse than the others. It was just shifted a little further to the side, where just moving his head even a little would tug at the wound. His mates took a moment to admire and carefully nuzzle the marks before covering them up again. Whatever cream Hoseok had found for him truly worked miracles. He could hardly feel any of the stinging anymore, but the muscle ache persisted. He’d leverage that for more doting after they ate.
Dinner was a delightful spread of his favorite dishes. He let each of his mates feed him once before shooing them away to chow down for real. When he was full and happy, he went right to the pack nest to relax. It wasn’t long before the door creaked open a sliver and three little alphas peered in.
“Yes, you can join me,” Seokjin said before they could even ask. “You know you don’t need to ask when it’s the pack nest.”
The pups piled into the nest, curling around him.
Seokjin purred.“There's no better way to relax after work than nesting with my pups.”
Taehyung preened and nuzzled at his bandaged neck.
“Careful.” Yoongi stood in the doorway. “Don’t want to irritate the wounds.”
“Tae’s always careful,” Jimin held out a hand for the beta, beckoning him into the cuddle pile. “Isn’t that right?”
Taehyung nodded slightly, then went back to his nuzzling.
Namjoon and Hoseok joined them soon after.
“Thank you for cleaning up, lovelies.” Seokjin shifted so he was sitting up a bit more. “I think my sweet darlings deserve a reward for cleaning up our dishes.”
“What?” Jungkook whined. “I would’ve helped too if I knew—”
Seokjin shushed him, “You get to watch. And my sweet pups can still play amongst each other while hyungies put on a show. Everyone just has to make sure not to upset my bites. Any complaints?”
Of course there weren’t any. It was going to be a good night.
