Summary

This one is a banger for sure. The gist of it is Bella is left in new moon but winds up being found by Volturi and the victim of a hunt in which the coven that retrieves her gets to sire her and thus have the power of her shield. There is tons of political stuff under this that makes it make perfect sense but this is like the core.
In the best way, this story reminds me of early game of thrones with just less main character death and like fucked up sex. The multiple POVs really feel balanced and exciting to read just like looking at Robb starks plot vs Arya vs Sansa. The additions to vampire society to make it more complex were also extremely welcome. The aria sera was a cool idea with certain humans being hunted for the right to sire them. It also had a slow start like GOT but absolutely necessary all the same because all of the little bits of information pay off at some point down the line. Ex. It’s hella clever and subtle too but makes perfect sense once revealed. The fights are so fun and all the characters are really good. The romance between Bella and Jasper was good too with all the fun tropes like our lovers on the run, forced proximity, blood drinking turned intimacy, and more.
I think this is up there as the best Bella Jasper fic I’ve read. Certainly the best with this balance of politics, combat and POVs. It is also probably one of my favorite long Twilight fics period. At chapter 93 as of writing and we’ve just got into the home stretch plot wise. So happy that it’s still being updated and will be so happy to see this completed (universe willing).
