Chapter Text
Cellbit grumbles. It's just a few minutes before 3:00, when he gets to leave this stupid shift. He just wants to go home and sleep for 20 hours, honestly.
It's the middle of spring, why would anyone drink coffee, anyway.. (Okay, Cellbit drinks coffee in spring too. He shouldn't be talking.)
Who knew working at a coffee shop could be so difficult? He had to deal with three annoying customers today, too, which definitely dampened his mood.
He's thankful no other customers come in by the time the clock hits 3:00. Though, someone does walk in.
“Forever–” Cellbit says, eyes lighting up when he sees his co-worker.
Forever waves him off, “Go.”
Cellbit doesn't hesitate throwing off his apron (he looks ridiculous in it, why did Bagi make him wear it!? Forever and the other workers don't need to wear one, but his boss chose him to wear it!) and running out of the coffee shop.
He comes to a halt when he turns to walk down the sidewalk. There's another shop across the road, and Cellbit hasn't ever been in there.
Fuck it, He thinks, looking both ways before crossing the road. He looks up to read the flashy sign that reads ‘MARI'S SWEETS’.
Huh . Perhaps a candy store? Cellbit isn't sure, but he hesitantly opens the door, jumping slightly at the ding! sound when the door opens.
Cellbit enters the store, and jeez , it looks way better than where he works. There's a bunch of booths, and on the counter there's multiple items - like displays. What the hell.
There's a man at the register. He has dark brown hair, a blue bandana that honestly looks like it's on the verge of falling off, and a lightly colored uniform.
He's pretty. Wait, no, Cellbit shakes that thought away, walking up to the counter. He glances at the menu that is broadcasted on the screen above, eyes widening at all the options.
“Holá,” The man at the counter says, “Welcome to Mari's Sweets.. What can I get you?” He asks.
“I-” Cellbit stutters, caught off guard. “Just a chocolate covered donut, please.”
The man nods, heading into the back. Cellbit catches a glance of his name tag, Roier, huh?
He returns a few moments later, holding a bag. “So, what's your name? I'm Roier.” He says, a smile appearing on his face.
“.. Cellbit.” Cellbit replies, taking the bag.
“M'kay, Cellbo, 5 dollars.”
Cellbit blinks at the nickname, reaching in his pocket and handing over 5 dollars.
“Thank you.” Cellbit says, walking out before he can embarrass himself. Once he is out of the bakery, he bolts back to his house.
Holy shit. That was the prettiest man Cellbit has ever seen.
He grits his teeth, fumbling to grab his keys from his pocket, unlocking his front door.
Cellbit walks inside his house, locking the door behind him. Jesus, that whole thing was embarrassing for some reason.
He takes off his boots, sitting at the kitchen table. He opens up the bag, pulling out the donut.
Cellbit is absolutely going back there tomorrow. No denying it.
—
“What's the rush?” Forever asks, looking over as Cellbit is scrambling to take off his apron at the end of his shift.
Cellbit just glares at him, rushing out of the coffee shop and across the road. He lets out a sigh of relief when he sees Roier at the counter.
Roier looks up at the chime of the door opening, eyes widening. “Cellbo, holá.” He greets.
Cellbit smiles, walking up to the counter. “Hi, Roier.”
“What would you like?”
“Chocolate covered donut.” Cellbit replies immediately. He's so down bad already, Jesus, is it possible to like someone you've known for a day? Is this what Bagi felt with Tina? Or how Pac feels with Fit– Or how Forever felt with Brunim?
Roier nods, going to the back once again. Just like yesterday, Cellbit pays, and bolts out.
Unlike yesterday, Cellbit hears talking from inside his house. When he unlocks the door, he immediately freezes.
There are people. In his house. People he knows.
He recognizes that blue hoodie, the brown and white split hair, the green creeper shirt, that curly black hair, that blonde braid- he even recognizes that bald head and those red eyes. Oh, and he recognises that cat ear headband .
“What the hell?” Cellbit hisses, entering the house and slamming the door closed.
“We were bored.” Pac says, Mike nodding along with him.
“So you break into my house!?” Cellbit yells, glaring at the group.
Brunim coughs, “My mozão [Bae] said you gave him a key.”
“OH, FOREVER, YOU MOTHERFU–” Cellbit yells, getting interrupted by Bagi.
“Cellbit, don't worry.”
“I'm gonna wo– nevermind.” He groans, rubbing his eyes.
“What's that bag?” Tina asks, her eyes trailing onto the bag from the bakery.
Cellbit hides it behind his back, “What bag?”
“The one you just hid.” Felps says, a sly grin on his face.
Cellbit sighs, moving over to the kitchen table. “It's nothing. I just bought something.”
Fit snaps his fingers, signing the words ‘can we see?’
“No.” Cellbit replies.
The group groans.
—
Roier grumbles, shakily opening his front door. Jaiden is immediately there, “Roier, me and Charlie just threatened Foolish and Phil to kill thems-”
“On that purgatory roleplay you guys are doing?” Roier asks, taking off his shoes and stretching.
“Yes! The one with Baghera, Foolish, Phil, Charlie, and Carre.” Jaiden replies, nodding.
Roier sighs, sitting on the couch. “Nice, Jai'en..”
“Sorry, am I boring you?” She asks, snickering.
“Yes.” He responds, burying his face in one of the couch cushions.
Jaiden mumbled, “At least take your bandana out.”
She lifted up Roiers head, pulling off the bandana. Roier just quietly whined, “I keep seeing this pretty boy, Jaiden.”
Jaiden blinks, “Oh? Do you need me to invite someone over? I don't know how to help you with relationship things.”
“.. how'd you know I was gonna ask that– whatever. Can you get Mariana and Charlie to come over?”
“.. I'll ask them. Give me a few minutes.”
Roier sighs, nodding. His mind feels foggy, he wants to go back to the shop and see Cellbit. But then again, he's afraid to.
Jaiden comes back a few minutes later, “They should be here in.. Three.. Two.. O-”
There's a very aggressive knock at the door. Jaiden races over, flinging the door open. Mariana goes right past her, sitting near where Roiers feet on the couch are. “Holá, Roier.”
“Hi, Mariana..” Roier responded.
“Do I not get a hi!?” Charlie asks, storming in angrily, but hugging Jaiden tightly. He lets go, going and sitting near Roiers face.
“Holá..” The Mexican grumbles.
“So, boy problems?” Charlie asks, a shit-eating grin on his face, “You have a crush?”
Roier sits up, “I wouldn't call it a crush. Just- Ah, infatuation.”
“Is that the right word?” Mariana asks, “You definitely have a crush.”
“What's his name? On a scale from one to ten, how pretty is he?” Charlie asks.
“Cellbit.. 100..”
“ 100?” Mariana snickers, “Definitely a crush, dumbass.”
“I'll kill you.” Roier threatens, turning his head to look at Mariana.
Charlie speaks up, “Why not just confess? You know, the way me and Mariana started dating was because I broke into his house!”
“ Okay , skipping over that, you two are acting like you're my parents.”
“No we aren't!” Mariana and Charlie said in sync.
“Okay. Can- Can I just, uh, talk about this?”
Charlie nods.
Roier takes a deep breath, “he's really pretty, but I'm afraid to fully accept that I like him because you know how my past relationships have been.. I'm just scared, you know?”
—
Roier doesn't have a favorite customer.
He does like certain customers though. Like the boy with blonde hair and red eyes who always orders things for his boyfriend, the girl with the wheelchair and pink hair who has a cheerful voice, the boy with brown and blonde hair who gets cinnamon rolls for his daughter, and the bald guy who uses sign language.
He also likes the boy with brown hair that has a white streak in it. That's the customer Roier likes most.
Cellbit always orders the same thing. It's accidentally become a habit for Roier to always make sure they have chocolate covered donuts in stock just because of him.
Mariana and Charlie tease him about it. Jaiden doesn't, thankfully, but whenever her friends come over they do. (They stop when he asks them to. It's nice how they listen.)
Roier also notices a lot of things. He notices how Jaiden jumps when a door is slammed, how Charlie's eyes light up when someone mentions karaoke, and how Mariana gives him the look whenever he's frowning.
He also notices how Cellbit looks at him. Adoration , Roier thinks, yeah, that's the word. Probably.
The Mexican does need to stop himself from blushing when he sees the other, though, because it'd be weird if he blushed when he saw a random person!
Even if that person was very handsome. Even if that person's smiles make Roiers day better. Even if every conversation has Roier's head spinning with things he could've said.
He hasn't felt this way in years , so it's just a bit overwhelming. (Not just a bit. He's cried over it so many times it's ridiculous.)
.. he'll deal with these problems when he wakes up. Whatever.
