Chapter Text
Gegero had a great taste I men - not only Mizuki was handsome, a little bit short, but Iwako could be easily lost within his azure blue eyes and the scars... oh, she loved his scars. Many nights Gegero's wife would lovingly trace those scarred pink lines with her slender fingers on his face, leave the butterfly kissed on the man's left pectoral and shoulders.
When they asked him to join them. To live with them. He agreed thinking it was just a joke. Then they moved into his house – he thought they're pulling his leg, but also understood that their flat was way too small for a family of three while he had a whole place to himself.
He helped them a lot - with finances, with Kitaro – even though Gegero was the most involved with that little rascal. Iwako's husband was very good with kids of all shapes and sizes. Since her and Mizuki worked full-time, bringing home a far better salary then Gegero even could, the yokai male stayed at home taking care of the house, chores and cooking. Mizuki almost cried the first time he'd came back and dinner was just... waiting for him, still warm. He ate it quickly. It wasn't a gourmet meal, just a standard, plain curry with rice, but it was made with care and love.
Mizuki felt at home.
He didn't notice at first how their relationship shifted. Women were known to be more emotional. A peck on the cheek or even lips were a sign of gratitude or happiness. Iwako held his hand on occasion, hugged him apparently for no reason and even stroked his cheeks lovingly. Mizuki assumed she simply taught Kitaro to not be afraid to show his feelings to people close to him. However whenever Gegero shown the same range of emotional availability – up to the same way of kissing as his wife – it invoked something different within him. It's not that the veteran hated it – quite the opposite - he had to be careful with handling the tallest yokai. Well... he had girlfriends before the war, but also he had few... closer relationships with his fellow soldiers. Of course his attraction to both sexes had to be a closely guarded secret due to his position at the Blood Bank but sometimes he missed... that.
Just that. Gegero purred, when Mizuki's arms tightened around his torso. Mizuki's eyes drifted closed.
“oh! Hello, Kitaro, buddy” he felt, more then heard, Ghost Tribe elder's voice calling his son “what happened?”
Kitaro babbled in reply, but the white-haired yokai seemed to know precisely what the child meant.
“cuddle with papa and dada? I think he won't mind!”
The veteran chuckled, as he felt all too familiar pull on his pants.
“sure! Come here, kiddo.”
