Summer Comes Around Again

Summary:

Noah, I was hoping we could talk about plans for Fire Island.

Plans like, meet up while we’re there and have sex? I mean, yeah, obviously. I’m down.

Not just that. Plans like, I was wondering if you’d like to stay at my place this year.

. . .

Noah?

Notes:

A Yuletide 2023 treat for whetherwoman.

Work Text:

Noah, I was hoping we could talk about plans for Fire Island.

Plans like, meet up while we’re there and have sex? I mean, yeah, obviously. I’m down.

Not just that. Plans like, I was wondering if you’d like to stay at my place this year.

. . .

Noah?

What, mr billionaire, flying out here almost every month to see me isn’t enough? You want even more time with this beautiful face?

I know that’s your sarcastic reaction in the face of sentiment. It’s fine if you don’t want to, but an answer at some point would be helpful.

Also, I’m not a billionaire.

As you very well know.

Ugh, why do you know me so well. Yes, I’m being sarcastic instead of having to express emotions. UGH.

I really like you and care about you or whatever.

And obviously I want to spend as much time with you as possible on Fire Island this summer. It’s our ANNIVERSARY or whatever, oh my god, why are you making me say these words?

. . . I don’t think I made you say anything?

You know, I bang a lot of dudes, but even after a year I still really like you a lot.

That’s my Noah. Such a romantic.

Shut up. You know you like me too.

I do. That’s why I asked if you’d like to stay with me.

I can’t, though. Shoot, I actually do want to, but I can’t leave the rest of my crew to fend for themselves. This is the first year we don’t have Erin’s house and we’re still trying to figure out what to do instead.

Oh. No, that’s what I meant: Do all of you want to stay with me when you come to Fire Island this summer? You and your friends. There’s plenty of space.

Oh.

Oh.

Will, that’s so sweet of you. But I don’t know if I can in good conscience subject my friends to your friends. They were kind of, uh, jerks last time? You might remember?

Well, if it comes to that, I’m not sure I want to subject my friends to your friends either. I’ve met them, remember? They’ll probably vomit in every bathroom in the house.

. . . Yeah, they probably will do that.

But I’m willing to put up with that. For you.

. . .

. . .

. . .

Shit, Will. That’s probably the most romantic thing you’ve ever said to me.

Are you being sarcastic again?

No, I’m actually – wow – I’m really not. You’re so absurdly sweet and so incredibly hot that I kind of can’t believe it sometimes.

I like you, a lot, is what I’m saying.

I wish I could see you right now. Can I call you?

Always.
