Work Text:
The car door creaks upon being pulled open.
"Really, Miss Swan? You know that Henry isn't allowed snacks before dinner. Which is awaiting you by the way. So why are you sitting here and eating grilled cheese in secret? And I do hope it's not coffee that you got our son."
"Give the kid a break, Regina. He's growing, he needs energy. And so do I by the way. Besides, it was either a sandwich or an ice cream and I believe I made a very responsible and mature choice, thank you very much."
"And what do you need the energy for? Sitting at your desk and playing darts at the station?" Regina's eyebrow is raised in challenge yet there's no malice in her voice.
"Of course! You'll be wearing me out with..." Before continuing Emma cautiously looks over to Henry. "With your various tasks and reports and stuff and I'm the villain here for needing my carbs. Of effing course!" She huffs and crosses her arms in front of her chest.
"You're right, dear. What was I thinking. Now, you two, get inside the house and I'll make sure you'll get all the nutrition that you need." She looks poignantly at Emma at the last sentence before stepping away from the door to let Henry out.
Emma gulps. "You heard your mom, kid. Get in the house. Now!"
