Work Text:
Eraserhead ran through the ruined corridors, knocking down guards from time to time. It might not have been the quietest way, but it was too late for that. Rather, choosing Present Mic for this mission was quite a noisy choice. But who is he to argue with the choice from the higher ups. ( Especially since Zashi wouldn't leave him alone if he couldn't help them )
' Nedzu must give me a raise ' he thought, throwing another security guard to the ground.
Why is he always the one who goes on these types of missions?
"Sooooo, why did you gather us here?"
Mic finally asked, asking the question that was on every UA teacher's mind.
"Can't I just ask for a report on the students for no reason?" a mouse (?) in an elegant vest asked, sitting in the large chair.
"No" Aizawa muttered, narrowing his eyes. His eyes spoke almost defiantly, looking at the director. If Nedzu was interested in something, it was definitely dangerous, deadly, or suspicious... Or he was just entertained.
Nedzu took a sip of tea, awkwardly hiding a small smile. Or maybe he didn't hide it on purpose? He was aware of how he made others uncomfortable "You're right, Aizawa. I have my reasons as always."
There was silence, broken only by the sound of tea drinking.

"So?" Ectoplasm spoke up, wanting to end this meeting as quickly as possible.
"Recently I came across something... Quite suspicious" Nedzu began, to which the people in the office tensed up a bit. It certainly wasn't anything good "My scanners have found a facility... It has probably been abandoned or rarely used for a long time. I've been looking at it for a long time because I found it by accident."
Shouta frowned, listening to the principal's words. Nothing could hide from his sight. And if he discovered something by accident, without knowing it existed beforehand... That was definitely a bad sign.
"...But how surprised I was when one of the scanners detected someone's movement."
"...And why does this apply to us?" Yagi asked hesitantly, raising his hand gently. He looked a bit like a shy student wanting to ask his teacher a stupid question.
Eraser still doesn't know why he was so eager to apply for a teaching position. The thought of teaching his students to be just as imbecile as All Might, made Shouta want to jump out the window.
"I suspect someone may be hiding there" Nedzu replied, staring into his cup "Or someone could be hiding something. So it's certain that it needs to be checked."
As expected, Aizawa was one of the volunteers Nedzu chose. Not that he had any choice.
Although sometimes he envied Toshinori. Of course the number one hero wasn't taken with them. It would certainly draw too much attention. The man was probably sitting with Nedzu, watching the action from his numerous cameras.
And he was on a mission with an unknown goal along with a few heroes and Mic. Speaking of him, Shouta was definitely sure that the cracking windows were the blonde's doing.
But the mission didn't seem so pointless now. If there were guards here, they were definitely protecting something. And if the mere sight of the heroes caused them to panic, it was certainly illegal.
` Eraser, I think I've located the main hall ` Mic's voice came through the coms.
This was a sign for Aizawa to join him. Walking alone into a room with probably full security was probably a bad idea.
Immediately, the underground hero hid around the corner, allowing the security team to run past him. Making sure that they were gone, he immediately ran in the direction from which they came.
"Nedzu, how's the situation?" Eraser asked, immediately joining his friend. He immediately saw the same corridor as everyone else, but ending with a large door. If there wasn't an important room behind them, he would eat his capture weapon.
` No sign of life at all ` the voice muttered, at least using the sensors to check.
` Be careful! We don't know what's on the other side ` Yagi immediately added, visibly worried.
"Thank you so much Sherlock. I didn't know that!" Aizawa grumbled, and Hizashi snorted. Only his loud co-worker probably understood the references, but rather everyone understood the sarcastic message.
However, Mic finally calmed down, putting his serious face back on. This was not the time for laughter and jokes. Even though his hero persona was known for being loud and energetic, he could be responsible and quiet if the situation required it.
He immediately nodded, to which Eraser gently signaled with his hand. There was no need to wait even a few minutes before they both jumped into the room.

Empty.
The room was completely deserted. However, it was a headquarters of sorts. The screens were decorated with a large "Error" or "Warning" sign. Whoever was here must have noticed their presence earlier. Although Shouta hoped that someone didn't take all the important documents.
"I'll take a look around" Mic suggested, slowly walking around the hall. As soon as he heard the sound of someone stepping on glass, he looked down at the floor. In some places the screens were broken. Sometimes he noticed half-broken test tubes on the floor. Someone was trying very hard to keep them from finding out what was here.
Hizashi frowned slightly, examining the documents left behind. Some were on the floor, some on desks. And some were also slightly burnt. The notes didn't mean anything to Mic, but words like "experiment", "objects" and "reactions" didn't appeal to him.
"Eraser..." he muttered, taking the next sheets of paper in his hand. These even had readings of the brain's nerve lines.
"I see" he also added quietly, standing on the other side of the room.
"Something's wrong here..." Mic said louder, looking at his friend over his shoulder "This definitely isn't an ordinary facility with some weapons."
"They were testing something here" he continued, walking up to the man and showing him the papers he found "And this something looks more like human readings" he may not look smart as Present Mic, but he was actually quite smart. He may not have been at Nedzu's level, but he had already learned many things.
"You think... Human experiments?"
"I'm not 100% sure, but... It looks like it."
Aizawa pursed his lips into a line, staring at the documents in front of him. Now he was definitely sure it was a bad sign. Whatever was being tested here was something important. After all, something that could be taken would not be guarded here....
.
.
.
Wait.
Mic apparently came to the same conclusion as they both looked at each other.
"If-" BANG
The heroes quickly turned towards the noise, suddenly noticing an open door. They were sure they hadn't been here a moment ago.
"What the..." Hizashi tensed, pointing to the new door.
Numerous steps
Screams
Eraser glanced at the other, preparing to fight. It was probably an army of soldiers or bodyguards. Zashi clenched his hands into fists, preparing to use his quirk. Whatever was headed here was about to get hit.
"Now...!" he said, barely audible, immediately running towards the center of the room with the blonde. If Mic stuns their opponents, he will be able to attack. Just be the first-
They stopped immediately, almost tripping over their own feet.
Oh. No security guards. Just a bunch of children. False alarm.
.
.
.
.
WAIT. WHY ARE THERE A BUNCH OF CHILDREN HERE?!
Mic was obviously as confused as he was. He looked at them with wide eyes, not knowing what to do. He just wanted to use his quirk. Zashi didn't even want to think what would have happened if he had activated it before he saw who was running towards them....
The kids were also surprised. They looked at them as if they had seen two ghosts. But they were also tense, looking for any threat around them. Not to mention the makeshift weapons they held in their hands.
Seeing their bloody faces and visible wounds made Shouta want to find whoever was in charge here. He never wanted to see people so young with such injuries. Their fear and anxiety in their eyes... But at the same time, anger and confusion.
He finally moved carefully, making the group flinch. Two of them gripped their weapons tighter, standing in front of the entire group. Apparently they were responsible for the rest.
"Who the hell are you?!" exclaimed a boy with dark hair and Asian facial features. Like the rest, he was injured, but he tried to look like a threat. Next to him stood a boy with blond hair, slightly longer than his friend's. He also tried to cover the rest of the group, clenching his jaw in determination.
"Easy... We're here to help" Eraser said quietly, slowly raising his hands in a gesture of calming down the situation. More than once he was with people who were scared. And these kids were downright terrified. Although they did try somewhat skillfully to look bigger than they are.
"You don't look like any help" another boy spoke up, looking at them suspiciously "The one with the glasses looks kinda Jacked to me..."
Mic just blinked at them, pointing an uncertain finger at himself "I'm... I'm what?"
"This is definitely another try!" one of them hissed, and some of them grunted in approval "If there are any more grievers here, I I'll jump into the cliff!"
"Calm down you Slintheads!" hissed the blonde, giving them a nervous look " I'll myself, throw you back into that Grievers' pit!"
Yamada glanced at Aizawa anxiously, not sure what they were talking about. Is this some new kid slogan? First time he heard about it...
Usually the blonde was the better one when it came to interacting with children, but now? These children were pointing spears at him, so he didn't really know what to do.
"Hey, hey, wait!"
Suddenly someone started pushing through the group, pushing their way to the front. He immediately caught the attention of the other two, who calmed down a bit.
Green hair, the color of which barely showed through the dried blood. Face covered with dirt, dust and something slippery. The skin is scratched, probably injured.
However, Aizawa recognized the look.
His eyes widened slightly as he saw the missing report he had filed a few years ago in front of him. A missing child who simply vanished into thin air. He was visibly older, but still easily recognizable.
"...They're okay" he said to the rest "I saw them."
There was a surprised growl between them, but also a wave of reassurance. Shouta didn't quite understand what was reassuring about his words, but for now they had to evacuate.
"If you come with us, we can take you to a safe place... Okay, little listeners?" Mic asked in a whisper, smiling reassuringly at them. He also tried to speak in a kind and caring tone. This usually helped.
The group seemed really confused now.
"I guess... We have no other choice" a boy with... a beard, he muttered, giving the others an uncertain look "I'm not coming back for any klunk!"
Everyone looked at the dark-haired and blond kid, as if waiting for the final decision. Aizawa made a mental note of this. They were probably some kind of head of the group? He didn't know what to call it.
"...Minho, Frypan, you go in front. Me and Deku close the back" the blond muttered, to which the mentioned people nodded.
'...Frypan?' Mic raised an eyebrow, tilting his head slightly. It's getting weirder.
"I'll go behind" Eraser said in a whisper, waiting for the group to pass him. He tried really hard not to get mad. But seeing children truly hurt was something he didn't want to see that often. They were just... Broken.
"Then follow me, little listeners! You'll be safe soon!" Zashi announced, smiling at them. The dark-haired kid looked at him, raising eyebrows. They passed him without a word.
"...Not much of a talker" he muttered jokingly, hoping to cheer the kids up. But neither of them even glanced at him. People usually recognized him. Huh...
Aizawa rolled his eyes at what his friend was trying to do. The rest definitely didn't recognize him. But that green one... He associated them.
Therefore, he waited for the entire group to move on, while he joined the two walking behind. The blonde gave him a suspicious and warning look. However, his shorter friend looked at the hero curiously. But there was also a glimmer of suspicion and concern. You didn't have to look long to notice that they had certainly experienced more than one trauma.
"I know you"
Shouta looked at the green-haired boy, waiting for his next words.
"...I don't know why... But... I have the impression that you won't do anything to us."
"Why would I do something?"
"If you don't want to do anything, why were you here?" the blonde muttered, look
ing around for danger.
"...To help" Eraser replied.
They needed to get these kids to a safe place right away. But Aizawa, I still wonder about one thing.
What the hell happened here?
