Summary
König had never given the idea of his purpose much thought. At the end of the day, in the grand scheme of things, it didn't matter if he was alive or dead. The core of his world was his profession, the only thing he thought himself to be useful for.
But Horangi did damage to his life and the way he saw things in more ways than one.

So fucking cute, reread!
“Listen. I appreciate you trying to open up just now, yeah? But I need something more. We both could die literally every other month; I don’t think we have the time for uncertainties like these.”
“Then what do you want from me?”
Arthur breathed. The sun had set. Hongjin was only illuminated by the shitty lamp inside his office, even now more angelic than all heavenly bodies combined.
“An apology, Hongjin.”
He saw the gears turning in the Korean’s head. Then, Arthur’s eyes widened.
Hongjin was kneeling down in front of him, head placed on his hands on the floor in front of him. He didn’t move from his position when he spoke at first.
“Arthur. I am so terribly sorry. For how I’ve treated you. All this time. Like you were replaceable of sorts. But I’m not sure I can walk an earth you don’t exist on.“
Silence. Arthur waited for him to go on.
Hongjin raised his torso, looking up at him through wet lashes.
“Please, I beg of you, give me one last chance. Forgive me, I’ll try to be better. I’ll even- “, he made a pause, while audibly gulping, “tell you about my past. My scars, anything you want, just please. Don’t go.”
Arthur’s feet were glued to the spot he was standing in. After a few long moments, he sighed, and sat down on the floor, cross legged in front of his superior.
He put his hand on his head, stroking the dark strands.
“Look at me.”
