Work Text:
Raindrops splattered against the roof and windows of Nishitani's apartment, a total downpour. The streets gathered puddles as the nightlife of Sotenbori sought refuge from the storm. The lights from the buildings danced and swam through the water, shimmering away just as brightly.
Majima rolled over and checked the clock on the bedside table.
2:06 am
He groaned and rubbed his eye, he also felt something grab him like a vice. He moved his hand down from his eye to run his fingers through Nishitani's hair. The man kept surprisingly good care of his hair, the silk slid easily through Majima's fingers. Nishitani hummed sleepily and let his grip on Majima's torso go, just a little.
Nishitani mumbled into Majima's bare skin, "...Goro," god it was like a purr. Majima couldn't help but tug his hair a little, earning a groan. He sighed contently. Majima often didn’t sleep through the night, he couldn’t, waking up at some ungodly hour had become his routine but thankfully now he had Nishitani to keep him company and keep the nightmares at bay as he drifted off once more.
BEEP BEEP BEEP
Majima glared at the offending noise of the alarm clock, screaming to the world that it was 6:00 am and time for him to get up to get ready for work. Majima tried to move but Nishitani’s hold returned with a vengeance.
“Nishi, I hafta go to work,” he slapped the alarm clock quiet.
“Nah.”
“Nishi.”
“Goro…” Nishitani looked up with puppy dog pleading eyes.
Majima put his hand over Nishitani’s face so he wouldn’t be swayed, and pushed him off of himself with many noises of protest. Nishitani followed Majima into the bathroom and helped him undress and then further into the shower, sleepily letting the water run down his body as he watched Majima do his routine. After their shower, Nishitani helped Majima brush his hair, the brush ran smoothly through his long wet locks. He pulled the still wet hair back and smoothed it down into a low ponytail. Majima couldn’t help but stare at his dexterous fingers in the mirror as they worked. He loved Nishitani’s hands, they were rough but oh so gentle when it came to him. Nishitani finished by kissing Majima’s scar and grabbing his eyepatch from the medicine cabinet and letting Majima adjust it to his liking. Majima looked at him and smiled before pressing a kiss to his jaw. They made their way to the kitchen and ate a simple breakfast of eggs over rice with coffee, the smell filled the apartment with a mouthwatering aroma. They watched the news together on the small kitchen counter tv until they finished eating.
Too soon did Majima actually need to leave to go manage The Grand. Nishitani grabbed his hands and kissed each individual knuckle, working his way up his left arm, across Majima’s face, and back down his right arm.
“I’m not leaving forever, geez,” a light blush crept across Majima’s face.
Nishitani shrugged, “I know, feels like it though.”
He forced Majima’s suit jacket into his hands and pushed him out the door before he kept him here all for himself, not to share with the world.
It had been three entire hours and Nishitani was bored out of his mind. No clan meetings or deals, nothing on the news, Sotenbori was quiet for once and he was going insane! Well, more insane, losing that last marble. He had gotten dressed, shined his tanto, cleaned the kitchen and the bedroom and tidied up the bathroom. What more is there to do? An idea struck him, and he was out the door in a hurry.
The Grand was hitting record profits. Majima hated paperwork but it had to be done. He skimmed through costs and wages, checking the pricing making sure they weren’t gouging people for money but not cutting corners either. A knock came at his door. The floor manager spoke through the door, telling Majima someone was here to visit. Nishitani all but came barreling into Majima’s office, excited to see him.
Majima rolled his eyes, “I’m tryin’ ta work and you know you’re just going to be a distraction.”
Nishitani had a wicked smile on his face, “I know, that’s the fun part!”
Majima sighed, there was no winning. He led Nishitani to the couch and put Nishitani’s head in his lap, silently stroking his hair while he read papers upon papers that littered the coffee table. Nishitani reveled in getting his way, Majima couldn’t say no to him, especially when he was this cuddly and cat-like. Nishitani’s breathing evened out and eventually, he fell asleep. Majima pulled the blanket from the back of the couch over him and bent down to kiss his head.
Hours passed as the two enjoyed the others company on the small couch. No problems arose with customers so Majima was free to snuggle with Nishitani until his shift ended. They had both migrated from the lap-laying paperwork to fully cuddling sprawled out across the couch. Their legs locked and their arms found familiar spots around waists and necks.
An alarm clock signaled the end of Majima’s shift for the day so he gathered his belongings, (convinced Nishitani to let him get up so they could leave), and the pair enjoyed the walk back to Nishitani’s apartment together. They couldn’t be physically affectionate out in the open but that didn’t stop their shoulders from brushing every few steps and their hands from gliding against each other, sometimes absentmindedly playing with the others fingers. The apartment door wasn’t even open before Nishitani became whiny and let his possessiveness for Majima’s full attention take over. Majima couldn’t resist the pout on Nishitani’s lips though. Nishitani loved taking care of Majima after work, demanding they sit together on the couch so he could brush out Majima’s hair from its ponytail. Making sure Majima was relaxed so he could run out and grab take-out for two from Ganko Sushi. Majima loved being doted on and tried his best to return the favors to Nishitani but the man always managed to one-up him on the next thing he did. It was inspiring.
The pair watched a pretty terrible movie together and made fun of it the whole time while eating, making jokes, and groaning at the really terrible parts.
“This movie is almost ruinin’ my food!” Nishitani complained.
‘Yea, I hear ya..”
Doing chores and cleaning up the takeout was more entertaining than the movie. Despite that, they appreciated any and all time they could spend together. Yakuza business be damned, they could go weeks without seeing each other. But this small apartment on the outskirts of town, watching bad movies and eating takeout, taking showers together, sleeping in the same bed. Absolute solace from the criminal world. Their very own slice of heaven. Just for the two of them.
Majima held Nishitani in his arms as they laid down for bed. A small amount of moonlight came from the window and illuminated Nishitani’s features. He was beautiful. Majima stroked his beard, earning a smile from the sleeping man. Heaven existed. Here, with them.
