Tattooed Heart

Summary:

Part II: Epilogue

Falling in love is easy, but confronting that love is a whole different experience. That’s what it feels like for Hyunjin.

Hyunjin and Felix pulled each other’s strings. Emotionally avoidant and realistically human. After ‘accidentally’ sleeping together on a fateful night, they found themselves stuck between idealism and reality.

Hyunjin’s love is passive-aggressive. He doesn’t know how to express it. He is so in love with Felix that he’s making himself miserable for not saying anything. He wants him so badly that the idea of it not working out is too devastating for Hyunjin to bring himself to admit his feelings and profess his love.

If fate had brought you back together, would you repeat your mistakes?

Notes:

I poured my soul and emotions into this fic, so I hope you'll love them as much as I do. OR DON'T.WHATEVERRRR.
It's part II; epilogue but the plot is solely based on a modern alternate universe. There are relations to part I; Prologue, but subtle and barely noticeable.

Thank you sm for the love and support <3 I will try my best to update every week since I've already written a few chapters in advance. Just need the chapters to be beta-d and reviewed before posting them.

Chapter 1: Turning Page

Chapter Text

I want to

Tangle with you

And fall into you,

Your breath, your skin,

Your hands, your heart,

Your everything

All of it, all of you,

All around me

Eight men were strolling through the alleys of Dongdaemun on a chilly night in Seoul. Young folks were out having a good time in the city. Some were drunk from intoxicated with alcohol, others were laughing with their friends, and couples shared warm baked potatoes as they held hands.

It has been their tradition to celebrate by the end or start of a semester. They all met through mutual friends and eventually established a close-knit group. Hyunjin was only friends with Jeongin when he met the other six. He met Han, Chan, and Changbin in the Department of Film and Performing Arts when he accompanied his twin sister, Yeji, that worked on a project with them.

Seungmin popped out of nowhere.

He can’t even recall how they became close. They talked, sitting on a bench when Hyunjin was running away from the busy crowd at their opening semester festival. He finds Seungmin comforting, and he later introduces him to the rest.

Hyunjin can hardly hear himself think with all these noises and the busy milieu. He hates being in crowded places. It’s suffocating and unnecessary. If it weren’t for Chan and Han begging and dragging his ass to go out with them, he would’ve had a peaceful night in his apartment studio working on a painting.

But, the two friends persuaded him since they didn’t have the opportunity to socialize because of their hectic schedules as college students.

To be honest, Hyunjin didn’t need a lot of convincing - all he needed to hear was the name of the person who had been a permanent resident in his chaotic mind.

Hyunjin would undoubtedly remember how he met Felix. He would frequently lament to Jeongin how cliche and unrealistic those first moments of acquaintance are in Korean dramas; until he experienced it himself.

It was a rainy night; the brunette was walking out of a convenience store when he saw a figure crouching on the sidewalk, soaked in the rain. He felt compelled to approach the stranger and offer assistance by some unexplained force from the universe. Because, usually, he would just walk away and mind his own business.

When He asked the stranger if he was okay and needed any help, the brunette met with a pair of glossy, big eyes that looked as if they held all the stars in the sky. The stranger was sobbing and shivering under the rain. What happened next; is another story to tell.

The riotous noise muted when Hyunjin zeroed his eyes on the hand that was swinging next to his. His long fingers itched to hold the other’s small and dainty ones. The brunette purposely leaned closer so their fingers would briefly brush.

Hyunjin feels ridiculous and insufferable. He could easily hold hands with his other friends if he wanted to - but not with Felix . Because with Felix, It's all romanticized. Even sitting too close to each other makes the brunette hyper-aware. He feels like all eyes are on them, scared that people can see right through him, of how infatuated he is.

“Oi, everybody is down for drinks, yeah?” Bangchan’s question pulled Hyunjin out of his daze. He looked around everyone, waiting for them to answer first.

The others seemed hesitant about the idea, considering they are starting the first day of their last semester tomorrow. Honestly, Hyunjin isn’t opposed to it. His classes for tomorrow are only for a few periods. Hyunjin, who majors in fine arts and sculpture, has only six hours of studio time three times per week, which makes him thoroughly flexible with his schedule.

Seungmin might oppose the invite. He probably already planned the night in preparation for tomorrow. Being the group's nerd, he makes deliberate decisions and rarely participates in impromptu escapades.

“We should celebrate,” Chan added before anyone could answer.

“Celebrate what? We just started the semester.” Seungmin frowned at Chan’s suggestion of celebrating with drinks. It’s funny how Seungmin thought Bangchan was a big cheeky idiot when they first met, but now? Even more so.

“You just wanted to get wasted. Don’t you?” Said Minho, rolling his eyes, already familiar with the older’s antics. The need to get wasted now and then.

“Yes, and yes.” Chan grinned. “Oh! Come on. It's been forever since we've had drinks together.”

“Fine,” Changbin caved in. “But I’m not getting wasted. We still have that demo to work on.”

“Thank you, Changbin. You’re the best.” Chan cheekily linked his arms with Changbin, skipping happily. “What about the others?”

“Seungmin and I are down too. It's not like we’re the ones driving later.” Jeongin mindlessly answered for him and Seungmin. He reasoned that Seungmin deserved to have some fun; since he was always missing out.

“Oi Innie, I did not agree to this.”

“Dude, come on, don't be such a killjoy.” Jeongin bumped Seungmin’s shoulder, making the latter almost trip.

“Fine, whatever.” Seungmin didn’t argue.  A few drinks wouldn’t hurt. Besides, he and Jeongin carpooled with Chan and Changbin. So, they’re not the ones who will drive later.

“What about you guys?” Chan addressed his query to Han, Minho, Felix, and Hyunjin, who had been silent up to this point.

“I’ll go if Minho goes,” said Han while beaming a cheeky smile at Minho.

“Fine, I’ll join.” Minho gave in.

“Yes, six down! Oi Felix, Hyunjin, you guys /have/ to join then since it's six against two.” All six heads turned to Hyunjin and Felix - who walked behind them, twelve eyes expecting them to say yes.

“Yea, we’ll join.” Felix let out a deep chuckle. His eyes twinkled with excitement. It's been forever since they had fun drinking and talking about anything and everything.

“Wait, Hyunjin,” Felix realized that he blindly answered for his friend.

“I’m sorry I decided for us both. Are you okay with joining? Or do you want to go back early?” Hyunjin turned his head in Felix's direction. The blonde's hand was holding onto Hyunjin's sleeve as he stared at him with huge doe eyes filled with guilt.

“Yea, I'm okay, besides I could use a drink or two too. But I won't drink much because I have to drive later.”

He lied. If going for drinks gives him more time with Felix, he’s more than glad to join.

Felix's lips curved into the sweetest smile, making the corner of his eyes crinkle. Hyunjin adored that smile; he adored how warm and beautiful he appeared when he smiled, especially when reserved only for him.

The sound of people chattering and laughing filled the small chicken and beer restaurant. The place wasn’t like the usual fancy chicken restaurants. It was small and cozy.  Dimmed lights and soft cushions decorated the space, with photographs of the owner’s family hanging on the walls.

Hyunjin’s eyes wandered around the space. He was already feeling drained; all he craved, for now, was the comfort of his bed. He landed his eyes on the pretty blonde sitting across from him. He silently counted the bottles of beer Felix had, and he was currently on his fourth.

Felix has a low alcohol tolerance. Four bottles of beer are enough to tip him off the edge.

He laid his head on Changbin’s shoulder. His mouth was letting out incoherent words. His cheeks were flushed, and his face was puffy.

Hyunjin locked his gaze with Felix’s; his eyes conveyed several messages. Are you okay? Do you want to go home?

He didn't have to utter those queries because he knew Felix would understand them. It’s an unspoken thing they have between them. They naturally communicate through telepathy, conversing in their own space and language.

Felix flutters his eyes softly as his lips curve into a gentle smile.  I’m okay .

“I can’t believe this will be our last semester together before we go our separate ways. I’m going to miss you guys.” Han dramatically whined. He was a drunken mess already.

“Who says we are separating? We’ll stay together. Forever!” Another drunken man spoke before banging his head on the table.

“Sure, Bangchan. We’ll stay together forever.” Changbin patted Chan’s back, causing the oldest to grumble.

Felix hummed in contentment, making Hyunjin snap his head toward him. “What time is it?” He mumbled.

“It’s past midnight, Yongbok-ah,” Changbin answered while patting the blonde’s head.

The sight made Hyunjin clench his jaw despite knowing he shouldn't harbor resentment about it - Felix is like Changbin’s younger brother. Despite not being the youngest in their group, Felix is /everyone's/ baby. His childlike manner and his endearing personality melt the coldest of hearts.

“I think we should head back home. It’s late, and I’m too exhausted to handle drunken grown men.”  Minho said before standing up, holding Han by the waist.

Hyunjin shook his shoulders to wake Seungmin and Jeongin - who were using his shoulder pads as pillows.

Jeongin groans, refusing to budge.

“Wake up. It’s past midnight; I want to go home.” Hyunjin pushes the younger’s head away. He stretches his stiff muscles.

He can’t wait to slump on his soft mattress at home.

“Hyunjin, can you take Felix with you? I don’t want to drag him to the studio with us. We don’t know how long we’ll be staying.”

Changbin's demand caught Hyunjin off guard. Not that it's strange or awkward in any way. He was only agitated by the idea of him and Felix being alone.

“Sure, I’ll take him home.”

“Thank you Hyung-nim.” Felix drunkenly flirted. He constantly makes fun of Hyunjin by calling him Hyung because the brunette usually acts as though he despises the honorific while secretly loving it.

Hyunjin smirked and shook his head at the honorific.

The group of friends stood and picked up their belongings to leave. Changbin, as the responsible friend of the group, paid for their meals and drinks while others waited outside.

-

Han held onto Minho while a strong hand gripped the side of his waist, supporting his whole weight.

“Minho Hyung~.” Han crooned while poking Minho’s cheeks. “ Thank you for taking care of me. I love you.”

Minho just hummed in response. The older man had a faint smile on his face. Han's drunken state amuses him.

It’s endearing how attentive Minho is toward Han. He takes care of him. One would ascribe it to the loneliness of being an only child. Minho felt compelled to look out for other people as a result.

While it is true that he possesses altruistic characteristics, everyone can see that he is particularly concerned about Han.

Hyunjin cast a peek at Felix, who was strolling alongside him on unsteady legs. They’re always subconsciously drawn to be near each other, like magnets.

“You’re alright, Lix?”

Felix nodded with his eyelids half closed.

“Come here,” Hyunjin pulled the end of the blonde’s sleeve, bringing him closer to wrap his arm around his waist while his other free hand draped over Felix’s shoulder. The brunette had to lower his body to match the blonde’s height.

Changbin watched the two from the corner of his eyes. “Drive safe, Jinnie, Minho. I’ll see you guys tomorrow.”

“Watch the road, and see you again tomorrow, Bin,” Minho replied as he repositioned Han's arm, slung over his shoulder. He nodded at Hyunjin and Felix before parting ways, leaving the two.

Dragging their feet through the cold, the two stayed silent. Fortunately, Hyunjin's car was close to the eatery. The heat coming from the blonde radiated through Hyunjin’s shivering skin. His face was too close to the blonde’s, magnifying every feature on his face.

Hyunjin studied Felix’s face for a moment. Long thick lashes cast a shadow underneath his eyes while pink pouty lips let out small puffs of frosty breath. The intoxicating scent of his Louis Vuitton fragrance breached Hyunjin’s senses, making him nervous.

“Can you walk? Do-Do you want me to carry you?” Hyunjin nervously asked, trying to get rid of the awkwardness.

In response to the brunette's question, the blonde chuckled. “I'm okay, Hyunjin. I can still walk, and I’m not that drunk.”

Felix leaned closer to the brunette, wanting more of his friend’s warmth. “You’re so warm.” He didn’t realize he had mindlessly said whatever went through his head.

Hyunjin just smiled at the sudden compliment. Is it considered a compliment? Maybe it is, maybe not. But whatever it is, he’s always flustered when Felix says things like that.

The two walked toward the parking lot where Hyunjin parked his car. The cold wind made Felix shiver, and the blonde wrapped his arms around Hyunjin’s waist.

God, Hyunjin is being tortured by this. He claimed to despise skinship, in particular with Felix; he lied. He enjoys it, so it's torture that even the most innocent touch from the blonde causes him to shudder and have goosebumps.

He maintained his composure while quickening his steps to get to his car; until a delicate forefinger began to trace the characteristics of his face, starting with the bridge of his nose.

“Your nose is so handsome.”

Felix’s finger traced down to a pair of pink, luscious lips, causing the brunette’s breath to hitch.

“Your lips are so pretty, so kissable.”

He stopped breathing, and his steps halted. He turned his head to face Felix. The younger was already staring at him. Round doe eyes fixed on him, but he gradually lowered them to focus on his lips. His mouth slightly parted, letting out soft, cool air, and his breathing was loud and labored.

Control yourself. Felix is your friend, he's drunk, and he's-

God, he’s so pretty.

Hyunjin shook his head. Stop it. He’s drunk- he probably doesn’t even know what he’s doing.

“But I love your under-eye mole the most.” The blonde's eyes softened as he fixed them on the brunette's prominent beauty mark.

Hyunjin turned his gaze elsewhere, unable to stop the crimson on his cheeks.

Spotting his black Jeep being the only car left in the parking lot, Hyunjin quickened his strides. Once they reached the car, Hyunjin helped the blonde climb into the passenger seat and quickly got into the driver’s seat himself. The brunette started the engine and turned on the heater as the blonde rested his head on the headrest, lazily staring at his friend.

The blonde leaned in, giving in to the sudden desire to be closer. Hyunjin’s husky, flowery scent was pulling him in, making him swoon. “You smell good.”

Felix tilted his head till his lips ghosted over the brunette's neck, getting a whiff of his favorite scent.

Hyunjin could feel Felix's hot breath tickling his neck. He remained still, not daring to make a move. His heart was beating so fast it could burst.

The blonde’s breathing was labored as he rested his head on Hyunjin's shoulder. He couldn't hear his heartbeat. All he could hear was his voice pleading for Hyunjin.

“Hyun.”

A faint whisper. But enough to awaken every cell in the brunette’s body.

Hyunjin didn't dare to move an inch, but he turned to meet Felix's gaze. Two pairs of eyes locked in a heated stare. So close. Heart-shaped lips parted, releasing soft, deep sighs, anticipating the next move, which neither of them was brave enough to initiate.

“Lix, don't do that.”

“Do what?”

“Don’t look at me like that.”

“Like what?” Felix moved closer. His eyes gaze down to Hyunjin’s lips.

“You’re drunk.”

“Am I?” The blonde followed the trail of his eyes on the plump lips. So enticing.

Felix was so close. Too close. Their lips hovered over each other, barely brushing. Hyunjin closed his eyes as he felt a soft press, igniting his entire body with need .

He hesitated to move his lips, but when the blonde pressed hard, he leaned in carefully. Felix had lips that were as delicate as the first snowfall. Like melting cotton candy that floats weightlessly in the water as you bite into it.

Hyunjin moved his lips in sync with Felix’s. Their kiss was slow and sensual at first. Between kisses, he separated his lips, reaching out with his tongue to meet with the other. They were both hesitant and nervous; their fingers trembled with desire.

They parted their lips to breathe, breaking the kiss.

Hyunjin was panting heavily as his eyes wandered around the blonde’s face to read any signs of regret. To his astonishment, the blonde looked desperate . His pupils dilated, his breath hot, and his lips-

His feathery velvet petal lips-

He cupped the blonde’s face before capturing the swollen, glistening pout.  Already addicted to the taste of Felix, Hyunjin moved his mouth with urgency. His tongue swiped against the roof of the blonde’s mouth, emitting a whimper from him.

Hyunjin never knew a kiss could feel so good, so addictive that he never wished to part for even a second.

The blonde snaked his fingers around Hyunjin's nape, drawing him closer.

The wet, smacking sounds of their lips filled the car. Their deep breaths caused the windows to become fogged.

Felix nibbled on Hyunjin’s lower lip, earning a groan from the older as he lowered his right hand to grip the side of Felix’s waist.

“Hyunjin,” The blonde whispered in between loud, aggressive smacking of their lips. “I want you.”

Hyunjin peeled his mouth away, stunned by the blonde’s demand. He took the time to calm his ragged breathing, staring intensely at the brown doe eyes.

“Lix, are- are you sure?” The brunette asked. Regardless of Felix's response, he's not sure he'll be able to stop himself.

The blonde nodded. At the affirmation, Hyunjin let go of all his restraint and prudence. Whatever guilt, hesitations, or regret he has, he will deal with it tomorrow. As of now, he is just as intoxicated as Felix is. If not by alcohol- by pure lust.

Felix grabbed the brunette by the neck, immediately reclaiming his mouth and emitting an airy moan as he pushed his chest closer, dominating the kiss by wrapping his lips around Hyunjin’s tongue, sucking on it harshly. He was desperately trying to convince the brunette how much he wanted this.

Hyunjin reciprocated as he moaned into the blonde’s mouth, high on the euphoric sensation.

He pulled Felix closer, lifting his body as the younger pliantly climbed onto his lap, his lean frame fitting comfortably in the cramped driver's seat.

As the two boys adjusted their bodies for comfort, their kisses got wet and sloppy. Their kiss broke when Felix accidentally hit his head on the roof of the driver’s seat, making them both chuckle before diving back into each other’s mouths again.

Gripping the front of Hyunjin’s shirt, Felix started grinding his hips back and forth, sensually slow, making every ounce of sanity in Hyunjin vanish. The brunette kneaded the younger’s buttocks, pushing him impossibly closer against his crotch.

His bony fingers started undoing the blonde’s pants, tugging them down to peel them off. He lifted his hips as the younger’s hand struggled to undo his belt. The two boys are left in their boxer briefs after they remove each other's clothing.

Hyunjin stopped as his fingers crept under the waistband of Felix’s briefs.

He doesn’t have condoms.

He doesn’t have lube.

Well, sue him for being a decent man that doesn’t keep a personal stash of condoms and lube in his car.

“What’s wrong?” Felix asked, out of breath.

“I-” Hyunjin hesitated. It felt like he was making a fool out of himself.

“I-I don’t have condoms.” Hyunjin nervously looked at Felix. “Or lube.”

The brunette waited for his friend to pull away, but to his surprise, the blonde slowly brought Hyunjin’s hand to his face.

Hyunjin had stopped breathing again at the sight of the blonde wrapping his sinful mouth around two of the brunette’s fingers with his seductive half-lidded eyes maintaining eye contact.

Felix controlled the movement of the brunette’s fingers, stroking the base of his tongue and coating them with thick layers of saliva. When he deemed that Hyunjin’s fingers were ready, he guided the brunette’s hand around his back, blindly locating his hole.

“I’m clean.” The blonde whispered as his hand stopped when Hyunjin’s fingers made contact with his rim.

“Me too,” The brunette whispered back.

What can you expect from an art major who spends his days cooped up in his apartment working on a canvas or in the studio finishing an assignment? It had been too long since Hyunjin had a partner, let alone had sex. Who’s to blame other than the blonde beauty sitting on top of his lap right this very moment?

Hyunjin hesitantly circled the rim with his saliva-coated fingers, then pushed one finger in, tantalizingly slow, while searching for any signs of discomfort from the blonde.

“Does it hurt too much?”

The blonde shook his head, “No, it’s bearable.” His eyes were closed, his eyebrows furrowed, twisting in discomfort as he adjusted to the foreign feeling.

Hyunjin started pumping his finger in and out, slowly building a rhythm. He added a second finger when he felt the blonde’s body relax. Maintaining the rhythm, Hyunjin’s neglected cock pulsed when the blonde moaned airily. Felix buried his face in the crook of Hyunjin’s neck as his hands gripped the brunette’s shoulder for balance.

Felix mouthed at the skin there, leaving wet trails along the prominent vein on Hyunjin’s neck. “Ah-” The blonde moaned loudly when Hyunjin’s finger hit the sensitive bundle of nerves.

Reveling in the pride of Felix helplessly whimpering into his ear, Hyunjin bit and sucked on the blonde’s shoulder.

“Hyunjin,” Felix called, breathless. “Inside me. Now.”

“Shit-” The brunette startled. “O-okay.”

Clumsily removing his boxers with his free hand, Hyunjin slowly pulled out his fingers. The blonde winced at the slight sting.

Coating the head of cock with his pre-cum, Hyunjin positioned the tip, slowly pushing in his length. He groaned at the feeling of having his cock wrapped in a tight heat. The overwhelming ecstasy and the erratic thumping of his heartbeat were too much for the brunette. He had to calm down; so he wouldn’t embarrass himself by cumming on the spot.

Hyunjin studied the expression on the blonde’s face, worried that he might have hurt him. There were tears in the corner of his eyes.  They stayed still for a few seconds, giving Felix time to loosen up.

The blonde started grinding - making Hyunjin bite his lips to suppress his moans. The brunette thrust upwards, making them both moan loudly.

Felix planted his palm on the driver’s window shield as Hyunjin’s thrusts became more frantic,  throwing his head back as he indulged in the pleasure of each slide against his prostate.

Hyunjin wrapped his hand around the blonde’s neck, pulling him close.

“Kiss me.” He pleaded. Desperate for the sweet taste of the blonde’s mouth.

Felix obliged as his tongue chased Hyunjin’s. He pressed his lips against the brunette’s, swallowing down both of their moans.

“You make me-” Felix breathed in between kisses. “Feel-” He gasped as Hyunjin thrust harder. “So good.”

Unable to form any coherent words, Hyunjin replied with an unabashed moan.

They both kept giving open-mouthed kisses while groaning and moaning against each other’s mouths - making the window shield more fogged. The car rattled violently as Hyunjin’s thrusts became more brutal. Felix's hand continued to slide down the windshield, leaving a handprint that made it clear what was going on.

Feeling the heat at the base of their stomachs, Hyunjin thumbed the slit of Felix’s neglected cock, earning a loud cry from the blonde.

“I’m close-” The blonde whimpered between their exchange of wet, hot kisses. Hyunjin hummed in response as he pressed his lips harder, feeling closer to the edge.

Hyunjin’s hand pumped faster as he messily pounded into Felix, chasing the ecstasy.

Feeling a warm, sticky sensation filling him up, Felix cried out in pleasure as he let go . The two embraced each other as they calmed down from their high. Hyunjin laid his head on Felix’s chest as the blonde hugged his head.

‘Lix,”

Felix hummed in response, feeling himself slipping away into the darkness.

“What happens now?”  The brunette asked.

He waited for the other’s response, but there was complete silence. Peeling himself off the blonde’s chest, Hyunjin cupped Felix’s cheeks, sighing in defeat when he saw the blonde’s eyes were completely shut.

Hyunjin chuckled in disbelief. He can't believe he and Felix had sex. In his car.

The shrieking sound of an alarm woke Felix from his deep slumber. He groaned in annoyance as his hand mindlessly searched for the source of the sound.  His head was pounding, and he wanted nothing else than to continue chasing cows in his sleep.

Finally feeling for what seemed like a digital alarm, he picked up the item and threw it across the room. He tried drifting back into sleep when another sound pierced his ears, groaning again as his hand searched for the source.

Felix forced his eyes to open since he couldn’t find anything that felt like an alarm clock or a phone.  Blinking rapidly until his vision cleared up, the blonde studied his surroundings to identify where the sound was. Spotting his phone on the bedside table, he reached for it and immediately turned off the alarm.

God, what happened? His body felt languished and beaten up.  Felix grunted as a sharp pain started forming around his temple. He thought of getting a glass of water until realization hit him.

He’s not in his room.

Where is he? Felix asked himself.

He almost screamed when a strong arm wrapped around his waist, pulling him closer. He stared at the hand, then the fingers, stopping at the rings.

The rings. A long, delicate ring finger; ornamented with a set of black and white rings.

He recognized the rings. They belong to Hyunjin.

Hyunjin’s rings.

Hyunjin.

The blonde let out an inaudible gasp.

Felix felt a pair of plush lips ghosting over his nape. The owner hummed as he tightened his hold around the slim waist making the blonde shut his eyes again.

“Lix,” Hyunjin’s raspy morning voice sounded sexy. “I know you’re awake.”

Hyunjin tugged at Felix’s shoulder, turning the blonde to face him.

Felix nervously opened his eyes to see Hyunjin's piercing bedroom eyes staring at him.

“Hi.”
